{$} கண் பொலி நெற்றியினான்
Civaṉ who has a forehead in which the eye is shining.
திகழ் கையில் ஓர் வெண் மழுவான்
has in his shining hand a white-hot iron.
பெண் புணர் கூறு உடையான்
has a half in which a lady is united with him
மிகுபீடு உடை மால் விடையான்
has a big bull which has great eminence
விண் பொலி மாமதிசேர்தரு செஞ்சடைவேதியன்ஊர்
the place of the vētiyaṉ of red caṭai on which there is a crescent which shines in the sky.

தண்பொழில் சூழ் பனந்தாள் திருத்தாடகை ஈச்சரமே

{$} நான் மறையை விரித்தவன்
Civaṉ expounded the meaning of the four vētams
மிக்க விண்ணவர் வந்து இறைஞ்ச
as the celestials worshipped in large numbers.
முப்புரங்கள் எரித்தவன்
burnt the three cities
இயல் ஏழ் உலகில் உயிரும் பிரித்தவன்
difentiated the living being in the seven worlds that are in existence, having come down as a preceptor
செஞ்சடை மேல் நிறை பேர் ஒலி வெள்ளம் தன்னைத் தரித்தவன் ஊர் பனந்தாள் தாடகை ஈச்சரமே
the holy tāṭakai iccaram in paṉantāḷ is the place of the god who bore the floods coming with great noise which filled everywhere, on his red-coloured catai.

{$} மான் உரிதோல் உடுத்தவன்
Civaṉ dressed himself in the skin of a deer flayed

can destroy the Karmams of those who can meditation his feet, and grant his grace
கிளர் கீதம் ஓர் நான் மறையான்
has four vētams in addition to musical compositions which are sung in a high pitch
நஞ்சு அமுதா மடுத்தவன்
swallowed the poison as nectar
மிக்க மாதவர் வேள்வியை முன் தடுத்தவன் ஊர் பனந்தாள் திருத்தாடகை ஈச்சரமே
the holy tāṭakai iccaram in Paṉantāḷ is the place of that God who, in the distant past, averted the evils effects of the sacrifice performed by the great sages in tārukāvaṉam

{$} சூழ்தரு வல்வினையும் உடல் தோன்றிய பல்பிணியும் பாழ்பட வேண்டுதிரேல்
(People of this world!) If you wish that the irresistible Karmams surrounding you and diseases that appeared simultaneously with your bodies, to be ruined.
பாய் புனலும் போழ்இல வெண்மதியும் அனல் பொங்கு அரவும் புனைந்த தாழ்சடையான் பனந்தாள் தாடகை ஈச்சரமே மிகஏத்துமின்
praise often tāṭakai īccaram in paṉantāḷ of Civaṉ who adorns on his hanging caṭai, spreading water (of Kaṅkai), a young crescent and a cobra of increasing poison

{$} விடம் படு கண்டத்தினான்
Civaṉ who has poison in his neck.
இருள் வெள்வளை மங்கையொடும் நடம்புரிகொள்கையினான்
likes the idea of dancing at the end of the world when everything is enveloped in darkness, to be witnessed by a lady wearing white bangles.
அவன் எம் இறைசேரும் இடம்
the place where such a great chief as our god dwells
படம் புரி நாகமொடு திரை பன் மணியும் கொணரும் தடம் புனல் சூழ் பனந்தாள் திருத்தாடகை ஈச்சரமே
is the holy tāṭakai iccaram in paṉantāḷ surrounded by the famous water of the Kāviri whose waves bring with them the jewels in the hoods of cobras and many other precious stones.

{$} விடை உயர் வெல் கொடியான்
Civaṉ who has an eminent and victorious flag on which the form of a bull is drawn
விண்ணொடு மண்ணும் எல்லாம் அடிபுடைபட ஆட வல்லான்
is able to dance to make the heaven, this earth and other worlds be beaten by his feet.
மிகுபூதம் ஆர்பல் படையான்
has many armies of pūtam of enormous strength.
தொடை நவில் கொன்றையொடு வன்னி துன் எடுக்கும் அணிந்த சடையவன் ஊர் பனந்தாள் திருத்தாடகை ஈச்சரமே
holy tāṭakai īccaram in paṉantāḷ is the place of Civaṉ who adorns on his caṭai closely flowers of yārcum, vaṉṉi leaves, and koṉṟai flowers made into garlands.

{$} மலையவன் முன்பயந்த மடமாதை ஓர் கூறுடையான்
Civaṉ has as a half a simple lady who is the daughter of the mountain
சிலைமலி வெங்கணையால் புரம் மூன்று அவை செற்று உகந்தான்
was pleased to destroy the three cities with a cruel arrow fired in bow
அலைமலி தண் புனலும், மதி, ஆடு அரவும் அணிந்த தலையவன் ஊர் பனந்தாள் திருத்தாடகை ஈச்சரமே
holy tāṭakai iccaram in paṉantāḷ is the place of that chief who adorned his head with water full of waves, a crescent, and a dancing cobra.

{$} திரு மெல்விரலால் அடர்த்து அரக்கன் வலியைச் செற்று
pressing down with the holy soft toe and destroying the strength of arakkaṉ (Irāvaṇaṉ)
முற்றும் வெண்ணீறு அணிந்த திருமேனியன்
has besmeared the whole of his body with white holy ash
மும்மையினான்
has a form, has no form, and has a form and at the same formless

புற்று அரவும் புலியின் உரி தோலொடு கோவணமும் தற்றவன் ஊர் பனந்தாள் திருத்தாடகை ஈச்சரமே
holy tāṭakai iccaram in paṉantāḷ is the place for him who wore tightly a cobra living in the anthill, a skin flayed from the tiger, a loin-cloth and a cloth.

{$} வில் மலை நாண் அரவம் மிகு வெங்கனல் அம்பு அதனால் புன்மை செய் தானவர்தம் புரம் மூன்றும் பொன்றுவித்தான்
the pure Civaṉ had the three cities of the acurar who committed mean acts, destroyed by the arrow which is the god of fire of great heat, and which was fixed in the bow-string which was a serpent, and converting the mountain into a bow.
நன் மலர்மேல் அயனும் நண்ணும் நாரணனும் அறியாத் தன்மையன் ஊர் பனந்தாள் திருத்தாடகை ஈச்சரமே
the holy tāṭakai iccaram in Paṉantal is the place of the god whose nature could not be known by Nāraṇaṉ who is by his side, and Ayaṉ who is seated on a fertile lotus flower.

{$} ஆதர் சமணரொடும் அடை ஐந்துகில் போர்த்துழலும் நீதர்உரைக்கும் மொழியவை கொள்ளன்மின்
(People of this world) Do not accept as truth the words that are spoken by the low buddhists who cover their bodies with the beautiful robes soaked in myrtle dye, and the words of camaṇar who are ignorant. (நீதர் நீசர்) நின்மலர் ஊர்
the place of the sportless god.
போது அவிழும் பொய்கைதனுள் திகழ் புள் இரியப் பொழில் வாய்த்தாது அவிழும் பனந்தாள் திருத்தாடகை ஈச்சரமே
tāṭakai iccaram in paṉantaḷ where in the gardens the pollen in the flowers shed as the petals loosen to make the beautiful birds in the natural tanks in which buds blossom into flowers, to fly in a disorderly manner (visit that place and save yourselves)

{$} தண்வயல்சூழ் பனந்தாள் திருத்தாடகை ஈச்சரத்துக் கண் அயலே பிறையான் அவன் தன்னை
on Civaṉ who has the crescent by the side of the frontal eye and who is in the holy tāṭakai īccaram in paṉanṭāl surrounded on all sides by cool fields.
முன்காழியர் கோன் நண்ணியசெந்தமிழான் மிகுஞானசம்பந்தன் நல்ல பண்இயல் பாடல்வல்லார் அவர்தம் வினைபற்று அறும்
the Karmams of those who are able to recite the verses that are set to music, and can confer benefit on them, and which were composed by the foremost eminent person of Kāḻi, ñāṉacampantaṉ of great knowledge of chaste Tamiḻ, will leave their hold on them.
