Civaṉ is the first cause of all things.
ஆதிரையான்
is the god for the star Ātirai.
அனல் ஆடிய ஆர் அழகன்
is the god of rare beauty who danced in the fire.
பாதி ஒர் மாதினொடும் பயிலும் பரமாபரமன்
is superior to what are considered to be supreme things and who is always united with a lady on one half.
போது இயலும் முடிமேல் புனலோடு (1) அரவம் புனைந்த வேதியன்
the brahmin who adorned his head on which there are flowers, with water and a cobra.
மாதிமையல் விரும்பும்(ம்) இடம் வெண்துரை(ஏ)
veṇṭuṟai is the place which he desires with love,

{3:61}__2+
{$} காலனை ஓர் உதையில்(ல்) உயிர் வீடு செய்வார் கழலான்
Civaṉ has a long foot with which he caused the god of death to lose his life, with a single kick.
பாலொடு நெய் தயிரும் பயின்று ஆடிய பண்டரங்கன்
who performed dance, paṇṭaraṅkam, and bathed many times in milk, ghee, and curd.
(1) மாலைமதியமொடு, நீர், அரவம், புனை வார்சடையான்
has a long caṭai on which he has as adornment the crescent that rises in the evening, water and a cobra.
வேல் அன கண்ணியொடும் விரும்பும்(ம்) இடம் வெண்டுறை (ஏ)
veṇṭuṟai is the place he desires to dwell along with lady whose eyes are like vēl

{$} படை நவில் வெண் 1. மழுவான்
Civaṉ has a white battle are which he practised as a weapon often.
பலபூதப் படை உடையான்
has many armies of pūtams.
கடை நவில் மும்மதிலும் எரியூட்டிய கண்ணுதலான்
the god with a frontal eye set fire to all the three forts which indulged in mean acts.
உடை நவிலும் புலித் தோல் உடை ஆடையினான்
has a tiger's skin which is praised as his dress and which he has a worn as such
கடிய விடை நவிலும் கொடியான் விரும்பும்(ம்) இடம் வெண்டுறை (ஏ)
veṇṭuṟai is the place of Civaṉ who has a flag on which the form of a bull of quick gait is drawn.

{$} பண் அமர் வீணையினான்
Civaṉ has a vīṇai on which many melody-types can be played.
பரவிப் பணி தொண்டர்கள் தம் எண் அமர் சிந்தையினான்
he condescends to dwell in the minds of the devotees who praise and pay obeisance, which always think of him.
இமையோர்க்கும் அறிவு அரியான்
is difficult to be comprehended even by the immortals who do not wink.
பெண் அமர் கூறு உடையான்
has a half which a lady desires.
பிரமன் தலையில் பலியான்
receives alms in the skull of Piramaṉ.
விண்ணவர் தம் பெருமான் விரும்பும்(ம்) இடம் வெண்டுறை (ஏ)
veṇṭuṟai is the place which the Lord of the celestials desires.

{$} பார் இயலும் பலியான்
Civaṉ wanders throughout the world for alms.
படியார்க்கும் அறிவு அரியான்
nobody can comprehend his nature however great he may be.
சீர் இயலும் மலையாள் ஒரு பாகமும் சேரவைத்தான்
placed on one half the famous daughter of the himalayā of great renown, to be united with him.
போர் இயலும்புரம் மூன்று உடன் பொன் மலையே சிலையா வீரியம் நின்று செய்தான் விரும்பும்(ம்) இடம் வெண்டுறை(ஏ)
veṇṭuṟai is the place desired by Civaṉ who exhibited his valour standing on the chariot, by destroying the three cities of warming nature using the golden mountain, mēru, as a bow.

{$} ஊழிகளாய்
being the aeons.
உலகாய்
and being the world.
ஒருவர்க்கும் உணர்வு அரியான்
Civaṉ could not be realised by anybody.
போழ் இள வெண் மதியும் புனலும்(ம்) அணி புன்சடையான்
has a ruddy caṭai which he adorns with a white crescent and water.
யாழின் மொழி உமையாள் வெருவ எழில் வெண் மருப்பின் வேழம் உரித்த பிரான் விரும்பும் இடம் வெண்டுறை (ஏ)
veṇṭuṟai is the place which the master who flayed the elephant with a beautiful white tusk, to frighten umayāl who speaks sweet words like the music of the yāl, desires.

{$} கன்றிய காலனையும்(ம்) உருளக் கனல் வாய் அலறிப் பொன்ற முன் நின்ற பிரான்
the master who stood long ago to make even the enraged god of death die, to roll on earth his mouth which spat fire, to roar.

கன்றிய காலனைக் காலாற் கடிந்தான் (nāvukkaracar, Kōyil, (6)2)]]
பொடி ஆடிய மேனியினான்
has a body smeared with sacred ash.
சென்று இமையோர் பரவும் திகழ் சேவடியான்
has shining red-lotus feet which the immortal approach and praise.
1. புலன்கள் வென்றவன் எம் இறைவன் விரும்பும்(ம்) இடம் வெண்டுறை (ஏ)
veṇṭuṟai is the place which our master who has conquered the five senses of the body, desires.

{$} கரம் இருபத்தினாலும் 1. கடுவன் சினமாய் எடுத்த சிரம் ஒரு பத்தும் உடை(ய) அரக்கன் வலி செற்று உகந்தான்
Civaṉ became great by destroying the strength of the arakkaṉ who had ten heads and lifted the mountain by his twenty hands, with very severe anger. (இருபத்தினாலும், ஒரு பத்தும் the underlined letters are augmentation for rhythm)
பரவ வல்லார் வினைகள் அறுப்பான்
will root out the acts of those who can praise him.
ஒரு பாகமும் பெண் விரவிய வேடத்தினான்
has a form in which on one half a lady is united with him.
விரும்பும்(ம்) இடம் வெண்டுறை(ஏ)
veṇṭuṟai is the place he desires.

{$} சீலம் அறிவு அரிதாய்த் திகழ்ந்து ஓங்கிய செந்தழலான்
Civaṉ who assumed the form of a brilliant column of red fire which grew tall and whose nature could not be known.
கோலம் மலர் அயனும் குளிர் கொண்டல் நிறத்தவனும்
by Ayaṉ (Piramaṉ) who is seated on a beautiful (lotus) flower and Māl who has the colour of a cool and sable cloud.
மூலம்(அது) ஆகி நின்றான்
was the source of all things
முதிர் புன் சடை வெண்பிறையான்
wears a white crescent on his ruddy and excellent caṭai.
வேலை விடம் மிடற்றான்
has in his neck the poison that rose in the ocean.
விரும்பும்(ம்) இடம் வெண்டுறை(ஏ)
veṇṭuṟai is the place he desires.

{$} உரைகள்(ள்) (அவை) பொய் என
to prove that the words (of amaṇar and buddhists) are falsehood
நக்கு உரு ஆயவரும்
the amaṇar who are naked without any dress on their bodies.
துவர் ஆடை நயந்து உடை ஆம் பொக்கர்கள் தம்
and the buddhists of lying nature who wear robe soacked in red ochre with desire
எம் இறைவன்
our Lord.
திக்கு நிறை புகழ் ஆர் தரு தேவர் பிரான்
the master of the celestials, who has a fame that fill all the directions.
கனகம் மிக்கு உயர் சோதியவன் விரும்பும்(ம்) இடம் வெண்டுறை (ஏ)
veṇṭuṟai is the place which Civaṉ who has a superior lustre like gold, desires.

{$} திண் அமரும் புரிசைத் திரு வெண்டுறை மேயவனை
about Civaṉ who is in veṇṭuṟai which has a strong wall of fortification.
தண் அமரும் பொழில் சூழ்தரு சண்பையர்தம் தலைவன்
the chief of the people in caṇpai surrounded by cool gardens.
எண் அமர் பல் கலையான் இசை ஞானசம்பந்தன் சொன்ன பண் அமர் பாடல் வல்லார்
those who are able to recite the songs which can be set to melody-types and are composed by the famous ñaṉacampantaṉ who has knowledge of highly esteemed arts.
வீனை ஆயின பற்று அறும் (ஏ)
will be free from the grip of the acts, good and bad.
