{$} செய்யனே
impartial god!

திருவாலவாய் மேவிய அத்தனே
father who dwells with desire in Tiruvālavāy!
எனை அஞ்சல் என்று அருள்செய்
grant me your grace by assuring me Do not fear?
பொய்யர் ஆம் அமணர் கொளுவும் சுடர் பையவே சென்று பாண்டியற்கு ஆக (ஏ)
Let the fire that was set to the building in which I am staying, by the amanar who are liars go and gradually seize the pāṇṭiyaṉ.

{$} சித்தனே
Civaṉ who took the form of one who possessed eight miraculous powers!
திருவாலவாய் மேவிய அத்தனே
the father who dwells with desire in Tiruvālavāy.
எனை அஞ்சல் என்று அருள் செய்

எத்தர் ஆம் அமணர் கொளுவும் சுடர் பத்திமன் தென்னன் பாண்டியற்கு ஆக (ஏ)
Let the fire that was lit by the amaṇar who are deceits, seize the pāṇṭiyaṉ who rules over the southern part of Tamiḻ Nāṭu, and who is a very devout camaṇaṉ.

{$} தக்கன் வேள்வி தகர்த்து அருள் ஆலவாய்ச் சொக்கனே
the beautiful god, Civaṉ who destroyed the sacrifice performed by Takkaṉ and then granted him your grace!
எனை அஞ்சல் என்று அருள்செய்

எக்கர் ஆம் அமணர் கொளுவும்சுடர் பக்கமே சென்று பாண்டியற்கு ஆக (ஏ)
Let the fire that was set to my buinding by the haughty amaṇar go to the side of the amaṇar themselves and then seize pāṇṭiyaṉ.

estimable god!
திருவாலவாய் மேவிய அட்டமூர்த்தியனே
one who has eight forms and dwells with desire in tiruvālavāy!

துட்டர் ஆம் அமணர் கொளுவும் சுடர் பட்டிமன் தென்னன் பாண்டியற்கு ஆக (ஏ)
Let the fire set to my building by the mischievous amaṇar seize the Pāṇṭiyaṉ who rules the Southern portion of Tamiḻ Nāṭu and who is a well-educated scholar.

{$} நண்ணலார்புரம் மூன்று எரி ஆலவாய் அண்ணலே
the chief in ālavāy who burnt the three cities of the enemies!
எனை அஞ்சல் என்று அருள்செய்

எண் இலா அமணர் கொளுவும் சுடர் பண்இயல் தமிழ்ப் பாண்டியற்கு ஆக (ஏ)
Let the fire set to my building by the amaṇar who did not think it improper, seize pāṇṭiyaṉ who is well versed in īyal and īcaittamiḻ.

{$} தஞ்சம் என்று உன் சரண் புகுந்தேனையும் அஞ்சல் என்று அருள்; ஆலவாய் அண்ணலே
the chief in ālavāy! grant me your grace, who took refuge in you, thinking you are my protector.
வஞ்சம் செய்து அமணர் கொளுவும் சுடர் பஞ்சவன் தென்னன் பாண்டிற்கு ஆக (ஏ)
Let the fire set to my building by the amanar practising deceit, seize pāṇṭiyaṉ who rules the southern portion of tamil nāṭu, which has all the five regions; (பஞ்சவன் the King whose Kingdom has all the five regions; Kuṟiñci; mullai, marutam, neytal and pālai; ஐம்பால் திணையும் கவினி (maturaikkāñci, 326).

{$} செங்கண் வெள்விடையாய்
Civaṉ who rides on a white bull which has bright glowing eyes!
திருவாலவாய் அங்கணா
Civaṉ who is in tiruvālavāy and has gracious looks!
எனை அஞ்சல் என்று அருள்செய்

கங்குலார் அமண்கையர் இடும் (1) கனல் பங்கம்இல் தென்னன் பாண்டியற்கு ஆக (ஏ)
Let the fire set to my building by the low people of amaṇar who are as black as the night, seize pāṇṭiyaṉ who rules over the southern portion and who has no defect.

{$} தூர்த்தன் வீரம் தொலைத்து அருள் ஆலவாய் (1) ஆத்தனே
trustworthy Civaṉ in ālavāy who destroyed the valour of the wicked person, Irāvaṇaṉ who is a dissolute person!
எனை அஞ்சல் என்று அருள்செய்

ஏத்து இலா அமணர் கொளுவும் சுடர் பார்த்திவன் தென்னன் பாண்டியற்கு ஆக (ஏ)
Let the fire lit by the amaṇar who did not praise you seize the King who rules the southern portion and who belongs to the pāṇṭiyaṉ dynasty.

{$} தாவினான் அயன்தான் அறியா வகை மேவினாய்
Civaṉ who assumed a form which could not be known by Māl who measured the world and Ayaṉ (Piramaṉ)

Let the fire lit by the impure amaṇar seize pāṇṭiyaṉ who rules the southern portion and who is eulogized in poetry.

{$} எண்திசைக்கு(உம்) எழில் ஆலவாய் மேவிய அண்டனே
the god who dwells with desire in ālavāy which adds beauty to all the eight directions of the world!
எனை அஞ்சல் என்று அருள்செய்

குண்டர் ஆம் அமணர் கொளுவும் சுடர் பண்டிமன் தென்னன் பாண்டியற்கு ஆக (ஏ)
Let the fire set to my building by the amaṇar who are low in character, seize pāṇṭiyaṉ who rules the southern region and who is a great scholar (பண்டிமன்: பட்டிமன் has been changed into பண்டிமன் to soften a hard consonant into the corresponding soft or nasal consonant)

{$} அப்பன் ஆலவாய் ஆதி அருளினால்
by the grace of the father, the first cause of all things in Ālavāy.
வெப்பம் தென்னவன்மேல் உற
the heat to be transferred to Teṉṉavaṉ
மேதினிக்கு ஒப்ப
to be in conformity with the ways of world.
ஞானசம்பந்தன் உரை பத்தும் செப்ப வல்லார் தீது இலாச்செல்வர் (ஏ)
those who are able to recite all the ten verses composed by Ñāṉacampantaṉ are people who have wealth without blemish.
