{$} நம் கொள்ளிக்காடர் (ஏ)
our Lord in Koḷḷikkāṭu
நீறு பூசி நின்று இணங்குவார் பேய்களோடு
will be in the company of pēy-s having smeared himself with sacred ash.
நிணம் படு சுடலையில் இடுவர் மாநடம்
will perform the great dance in the cremation ground where there is fat.
(1) உணங்கல் வெண்தலைதனில் உண்பர் ஆயினும்
though he eats his food in a dried white skull.
குணம் பெரிது உடையர்
possesses exceedingly good qualities.

1. ஆற்ற நல் அடியிணை 2. அலர் கொண்டு ஏத்துவான் சாற்றிய அந்தணன் தகுதி கண்டு அ(ந்) நாள்
seeing his fitness to be saved on that day when came the end of the brahmin (mārkaṇtēyaṉ) who came to worship his good feet devoutly with flowers, cried, `grant me protection from the god of death, who is coming near'.
மாற்றலன் ஆகி முன் அடர்த்து வந்து அணை கூற்றினை உதைத்தனர்
Civaṉ kicked and destroyed the god of death who approached near him to kill him, being unpreventable.

அத்தகு வானவர்க்காக மால்விடம் வைத்தவர் மணிபுரை கண்டத்தினுளே
placed the big poison inside the neck to resemble the sapphire in order to save such great celestials.
மத்தமும் வன்னியும் மலிந்த சென்னிமேல் கொத்து அலர் கொன்றையர்

பாவ(ண்)ணம் மேவு சொல் மாலையில் பல நாவணம் கொள்கையின் நவின்ற செய்கையர்
has the act of singing to be appropriate to the tongue, many songs which are like garlands of words according to the rules prosody.
ஆவணம் கொண்டு எமை ஆள்வர் ஆயினும்
though he admits us as his protege by title-deed of bondage.
கோவணம் கொள்கையர்
has an idea of wearing the men's loin cloth.

வார் அணிவன முலை மங்கையாளொடும்
being united with a young lady who wears a bodice on her beautiful breasts.
சீர் அணி திருவுருத்திகழ்ந்த சென்னியர்
has a head on which the holy and of famous form of Kankai is staying.
நார் அணி சிலைதனால் நணுகலார் எயில் கூர் எரி கொளுவினர்
set an excessive fire to the forts of the enemies with a bow which was adorned by a bow-string.

பஞ்சுதோய் மெல்லடிப் பாவையாளொடும் மஞ்சுதோய் கயிலையுள் மகிழ்வர், நாள்தொறும்
will be happy always in the mountain, Kayilai on which clouds settle, along with a beautiful lady who has soft feet on which paste made from red-cotton is painted.
வெஞ்சினம் மருப்பொடும் விரைய வந்து அடை குஞ்சரம் உரித்தனர்
flayed an elephant with tusks which came quickly and reached him with cruel anger

இறை உறு வரிவளை இசைகள் பாடிட
as the lady who wears on the wrist bangles with lines sings.
அறை உறு கழல் அடி ஆர்க்க ஆடுவர்
will dance to make the Kaḻal worn on the leg which can produce sound make a big sound.
சிறை அறு விரிபுனல் சென்னியின் மிசைக் குறை உறு மதியினர்
wears a crescent on the head where the spreading water has been restrained.

எடுத்தனன் கயிலையை இயல் வலியினால்; அடர்த்தனர் திருவிரலால் 1. அலறிட
when irāvāṇaṉ lifted the mountain, Kayilai by his natural strength, Civaṉ pressed him down by his holy toe to make him roar.
படுத்தனர்' என்று அவன் பாடல் பாடலும், கொடுத்தனர் கொற்றவாள்
when he sang songs thinking `Civaṉ destroyed me' he granted Irāvaṇaṉ a sword that brings victory.

{$} அயன் முடி தேடினார், மாலும் சேவடி நாடினார்; அவர் என்றும் 1. நணுககிற்றிலர்
Ayaṉ searched for the head; and the great Māl searched for the lotus-red feet: they had not the capability and could never come anywhere near them.
பரிவொடு பாடினார் சித்தமும் கூடினார் பத்தர்க்கு அருள் செய்வார்
he will grant his grace to those devotees who sang his praises with love and who had concentrated minds, being very near them.

நாடி நின்று அறிவு இல் நாணிலிகள் சாக்கியர் ஓடி முன் ஓதிய உரைகள் மெய் அல
the words of the shameless camaṇar who had no intelligence and the cākkiyar (buddhists) who ran and preached in former times do not contain any truth.
நான் மறை பாடுவர்; பயின்ற மாதொடும் கூடுவர் திருஉரு
chanting musically the four vētams he is united in his holy body with a lady with whom he is intimate.
