{$} இடரினும்
when I am undergoing sufferings.
தளிரினும்
when I am depressed in spirits.
எனது உறுநோய் தொடரினும்
when my big karmam-s follow me
உனகழல்தொழுது எழுவேன்
I shall wake up from sleep worshipping your feet.
கடல்தனில் அமுதொடு கலந்த நஞ்சை மிடறினில் அடக்கிய வேதியனே
Civaṉ who gave out the Vētam-s and who controlled the poison which was mixed with the nectar in the ocean (of milk) and made it stay in the neck!
ஆவடுதுறை அரனே
Civaṉ in Āvaṭutuṟai!
எமக்கு ஈவது ஒன்று இல்லையேல்
if there is nothing to give to us.
இதுவே எமை ஆளுமாறு
is this way you admit us as your protege?
அதுவோ உனது இன்னருள்
is your sweet grace like that?

{$} தாழ் இளம் தடம் புனல் தயங்கு சென்னிப் போழ்இளமதி வைத்த புண்ணியனே
one who is the embodiment of all virtuous acts and who placed on your head on which expansive and suining soft water and stays crescent!
வாழினும் சாவினும் வருந்தினும் போய் வீழினும்
when I am alive, when I am dead, when I suffer and when I fall down walking.
உனகழல் விடுவேன் அல்லேன்
I would not leave the support of your feet.

{$} புனல் விரிநறுங்கொன்றைப் போது அணிந்த கனல்எரி அனல்புல்கு கையவனே
Civaṉ who holds in his hand a burning and scorching fire, and wears flowers of fragrant and blossmed koṉṟai, and water!
அம்மான்
my father!
நம்பா
one in whom anyone can repose confidence!
நனவினும் கனவினும் மனவினும் வழிபடல் மறவேன்
I would not forget worship in my mind whether I am in the waking state or sleeping state.

{3:4}__4+
{$} கைம்மல்கு வரிசிலைக்கணை ஒன்றினால் மும்மதிள் எரிஎழ முனிந்தவனே
Civaṉ who out of anger, discharged single arrow from the bow with bands which flourishes to cause fire to rise in the three cities.
தும்மலொடு அருந்துயர் தோன்றிடினும் அம்மலர் அடிஅலால் (1) அரற்றாது என் நா
even if I smeeze, and sufferings arise, my tongue will not cry about anything else except the beautiful feet which are like (lotus) flowers.
[[Variant reading: (1) அலற்றாது this form is also found in use; அயர்ப்பிலன் அலற்றுவன் (tiruvaymoḻi, 1-3-10), the meaning is to talk unceasingly and irregularly; cf. தும்மல் இருமல் தொடர்ந்த போதினும் ... துணை அஞ்சு எழுத்துமே (campantar, pañcākkarattiruppatikam, 6)]]

{$} கொய் அணி நறுமலர் குலாய சென்னி மை அணி மிடறு உடை(ய) மறையவனே
Civaṉ who revealed the vetams, who wears conspicuously on the head the fragrant and beautiful flowers placked just then and who has a neck made beautiful by the poison!
கையது வீழினும் கழிவுறினும்
if the thing kept in the hand slips down and leaves me completely.
செய்கழல் அடிஅலால் சிந்தை செய்வேன்
I won't think of anything else except the feet wearing armours of exquisite workmanship

{$} ஐந்தலை அரவுகொண்டு அரைக்கு அசைத்த, சந்தவெண்பொடி அணி சங்கரனே
Civaṉ who does good, who smears beautiful white holy ash and who has tied in the waist a cobra of five hoods!
எந்தாய்
my father!
வெந்துயர் தோன்றி ஓர் வெரு உறினும் உன்அடிஅலால் என் நா ஏத்தாது
my tongue will not praise any other thing except your feet, even when I am frightened by a cruel suffering that happens all on a sudden.

{$} ஒப்புடை ஒருவனை உரு அழியஅப்படி அழல் எழ விழித்தவனே
Civaṉ who opened his frontal eye for the fire to consume and destroy the form of the one who is compared to the beauty of others in that manner! (அப்படி it can be only imagined but cannot be described in so many words).

வெப்பொடு விரவி ஓர் வினை வரினும்
even if a Karmam appears combining with fever.
அப்பா
my father!
அடி அலால் என்நா (1) அரற்றாது
my tongue will not cry about anything else except your feet.

{$} ஏர் உடை மணிமுடி இராவணனை ஆரிடர் படவரை அடர்த்தவனே
Civaṉ who pressed down Irāvaṇaṉ who wore a crown set with beautiful gems , under the mountain, to undergo unbearable pain.
பேரிடர் பெருகி ஓர் பிணிவரினும்
even though I suffer from a disease, when a great affliction is increasing.
சீருடைக் கழல் அலால் சிந்தை செய்யேன்
I would not think of anything else except your eminent feet.

{$} கண்ணனும் கடிகமழ்தாமரைமேல் அண்ணலும் அளப்பு அரிதாயவனே
Civaṉ whose limits could not be fathomed by both Kaṇṇaṉ and Piramaṉ who is seated on a fragrant lotus flower! Kampar makes a pun on the word Kaṇṇaṉ;

உண்ணினும், பசிப்பினும், உறங்கினும்
when I am eating, when I am hungry and when I am asleep.
என் நா ஒண்மலர் அடிஅலால் உரையாது
my tongue will not speak about anything else except your shining feet which can be compared to lotus flowers.

{$} அத்தா
my father!
புத்தரும் சமணரும் புறன் உரைக்க
when buddhists and camaṇar talk slanderous words.
பத்தர்கட்கு அருள்செய்து பயின்றவனே
Civaṉ who trained himself in granting grace to his devotees.
பித்தொடு மயங்கி ஓர்பிணிவரினும்
even though a disease aflicts me combining with madness.
என் நா உன் அடி அலால் (1) அரற்றாது
my tongue will not cry about anything else except your feet.

{3:4}__11+
{$} அலைபுனல் ஆவடுதுறை அமர்ந்த, இலைநுனைவேற்படை எம் இறையை
about our master who has a trident of sharp blades and who is staying with pleasure in āvaṭutūṟai where water is always moving.
நலம்மிகு ஞானசம்பந்தன் சொன்ன விலையுடை அருந்தமிழ் மாலை வல்லார்
those who are able to recite the highly valuable garland of tamiḻ verse composed by ñāṉacampantaṉ of increasing good qualities.
வினையாயின நீங்கிப்போய்
having gone freed from the bondage of Karmams.
விண்ணவர் வியன் (1) உலகம் நிலையாகமுன் ஏறுவர்
will ascend into the world of the celestials as permanent residents.
நிலமிசை நிலைஇலர்
will not stay in this world
