என்று
saying.
நீலம் ஆர்தரு கண்டனே
Civan having a blue neck!
நெற்றி ஓர் கண்ணனே
who has an eye on the forehead!
ஒற்றை விடைச் சூலம் ஆர் தருகையனே
who holds a trident in the hand and has a single bull!
துன்று பைம் பொழில் சூழ்ந்து அழகு ஆய கோலமாமலர் மணம் கமழ் கோட்டூர் நற்கொழுந்தே
the good and tender shoot in Kōttūr where the big and beautiful flowers spread their fragrance and which is made beautiful surrounded by verdant and dense gardenes!

saying.
பங்கயம் மலர்ச் சீறடிப் பஞ் சுறு மெல் விரல் அரவு அல்குல் மங்கைமார் பலர்
many young girls who have small feet like the lotus flowers and tender toes dyed with a paste prepared from red-cotton flower and a waist resembling the hood of the cobra.
மயில் குயில் கிளி என மிழற்றிய மொழியார்
who speak softly like the peacock, indian cuckoo and parrot (the sound of peacock is not generally compared to the sweet words spoken by ladies).
மென் கொங்கையார் குழாம்
and company of ladies with soft breasts.
குணலை செய் கோட்டூர் நற் கொழுந்தே
the good and tender shoot in Kōṭṭūr where they perform a dance attended with shouting.

Civaṉ is the god in whom all the devotees who worship him with flawess flowers and rise, repose their confidence.
செம்பொன் ஆர் தரும் எழில் திகழ் முலையவர்
ladies who have breasts which are eminently beautiful by the ornaments made of superior gold which they wear.
செல்வமல்கிய (கோட்டூர்)
Kōltūr in which wealth is flourishing.
நல்ல கொம்பனார் தொழுது ஆடிய கோட்டூர் நற்கொழுந்தே என்று எழுவார்கள்
those who wake up from sleep saying the young shoot that is in Koṭṭur where the beautiful ladies who are like the tender bough, worship and dance.
அம் பொன் ஆர் தரும் உலகினில் அமரரோடு அமர்ந்து இனிது இருப்பார் (ஏ)
will sit along with the immortals joining them, in the heaven which is made of gold.

{$} பலவும் நீள் பொழில் தீங்கனி தேன் பலா மாங்கனி பயில்வாய கலவ மஞ்ஞைகள் நிலவு சொற்கிள்ளைகள் அன்னம் சேர்ந்து அழகாய குலவு நீள் வயல் கயல் உகள்கோட்டூர் நற்கொழுந்தே என்று எழுவார்கள்
devotees who wake up from sleep saying the shoot that is in Kōṭṭūr where in the long and eminent fields the fish carp frisks, where the swans flock together to make them beautiful, where the peacocks with big tail, eminent parrots which speak sweet words live in the long gardens which has many trees and creepers, has many sweet fruits, honey, jack-fruits, and mango fruits in abundance.
நிலவு செல்வத்தர் ஆகி நீள் நிலத்திடை நீடிய புகழார் (ஏ)
will have permanent wealth and attain in this wideworld fame which will last for a long time.

{$} உருகுவார் உள்ளத்து ஒண்சுடர்
Civaṉ is the bright light in the hearts of those which become tender.
தனக்கு என்றும் அன்பர் ஆம் அடியார்கள் பருகும் ஆரமுது என நின்று பத்தி செய்து எத்திசையும் (எழுவார்கள்)
those who wake up from sleep in all directions, being devoted to Civaṉ thinking of him as the drinking rare nectar of the devotees who cherish him with love, being steady in their minds.
குருகு வாழ் வயல் சூழ் தரு கோட்டூர்க் கொழுந்தே என்று எழுவார்கள்
those who wake up from sleep saying the tender shoot in Kōṭṭūr surrounded by fields in which birds live.
அருகு சேர் தரு வினைகளும் போய் அகலும்
their acts will go away from them which approach them.
அவன் அருள் பெறல் ஆம் (ஏ)
And they are the recipients of His grace.

{$} துன்றுவார்சடைத் தூமதி, மத்தமும், துன் எருக்கு, ஆர், வன்னி, பொன்றினார் 1. தலைக்கலனொடு பரிகலம், புலி உரி உடை ஆடைக் (கொழுந்து)
the tender shoot that adorns itself on the dense and long caṭai, a spotless crescent, datura flowers, dense yarkum flowers, flowers of holy mountain ebony, leaves of indian mesquit, and has ornaments of skulls of tevar who deceased, eating-plate of a skull and dress worn on the waist and covering on the body made of the tiger`s skin.
கொன்றை பொன் என மலர் தரு கோட்டூர் நற் கொழுந்தே என்று எழுவாரை என்றும் ஏத்துவார்க்கு இடர் இலை
there will be no suffering to those who praise those devotees who wake up from sleep uttering the name of good shoot in Kōṭṭūr where the koṉṟai blossoms like gold
கேடு இலை
there will be no destruction for them.

faults will not reach them.

{$} மாடம் மாளிகை, கோபுரம், கூடங்கள், மணி அரங்கு, அணி சாலை, பாடு சூழ் மதிற்பைம் பொன் செய் மண்டபம் பரிசொடு பயில்வாய (கோட்டூர்)
Kōṭṭūr where the mansions with storeys, towers, halls, beautiful stages, beautiful feeding houses, and gilded pavilions put up during festivals which are surrounded by walls of fortification are close to each other with their nature.
கூடு நற்பொழில் சூழ்தரு கோட்டூர் நற் கொழுந்தே என்று எழுவார்கள்
those wake up from sleep uttering the name of good shoot in Kōṭṭūr surrounded by verdant gardens in which many trees are combined.
கேடு (அது) ஒன்று இலராகி நல் உலகினில் கெழுவுவர் புகழால் (ஏ)
will not know even a little of ruin and live in this good world full of fame.

as Umai was frightened when the arakkaṉ who had bright and sharp teeth like the sword, lifted that famous and mountain (Kayilai).
சுளிய ஊன்றலும் சோர்ந்திட
when he languished, as Civaṉ pressed the toe to feel pain.
வாளொடு நாள் அவற்கு அருள் செய்த (கொழுந்து)
Civaṉ who granted him a sword and long life.
குளிர் கொள் பூம் பொழில் சூழ்தரு கோட்டூர் நற் கொழுந்தினைத் தொழுவார்கள்
those who worship with joined hands the good and tender shoot (Civaṉ) in Kōṭṭūr surrounded by beautiful and cool gardens.
தளிர் கொள் தாமரைப் பாதங்கள் அருள் பெறும் தவம் உடையவர் (தாம், ஏ)
are fortunate people who are granted the feet of the Lord resembling lotus which is ever fresh.

{$} பாடி ஆடும் மெய்ப் பத்தர்கட்கு அருள் செயும் முத்தினைப் பவளத்தை
Civaṉ who is as precious as the coral and pearl and who grants his grace to sincere devotees who sing his praises and dance out of joy.
தேடிமால் அயன் காண ஒண்ணாத அத்திருவினை
-that wealth which Māl and Ayaṉ could not know even though they searched for him.
தெரிவைமார் ஆடவர் கூடிக் கைதொழு கோட்டூர் நற் கொழுந்தே என்று எழுவார்கள்
those who wake up from sleep uttering the name, the good and tender shoot in Kōṭṭūr where the local ladies and gents joining together worship with joined hands.
நீடு செல்வத்தராகி
will enjoy wealth for a long times.
இவ் உலகினில் நிகழ்தரு புகழார் (ஏ)
will have fame that exists in the world surviving them.

{$} கோணல் வெண் பிறைச் சடையனைக் கோட்டூர் நற் கொழுந்தினைச் செழுந்திரளைப் பூணல் செய்து அடி போற்று மின்
(Devotees!) pay your respects to the feet of the Lord who wears on his caṭai a curved white crescent, by adorning the good tender shoot in Kōṭṭūr and flourshing round mass with flowers, clothes and ornaments.

without minding the words of the low people, who are the buddhists and black amaṇar who do not know even a little of the good grace of the true Civaṉ who is not united with falsehood, for ever.
அரனைப் பேணல் செய்து தொழும் அடியவர் பெருமையைப் பெறுவார் (ஏ)
the devotees who worship araṉ cherishing him with love, will attain greatness.

{$} பந்து உலா விரல், பவளவாய்த் தேன் மொழிப் பாவையோடு உரு ஆரும் (கொழுந்தினை
the tender shoot that has a form united with a beautiful lady who speaks words as sweet as honey and who has lips like coral and fingers that hold a ball.
கொந்து உலாம் மலர் விரி பொழில் கோட்டூர் நற்கொழுந்தினை
on the good tender shoot that is in Kōṭṭūr which has garden in which flowers blossom in bunches.
செழும்பவளம் வந்து உலாவிய காழியுள் ஞானசம்பந்தன் வாய்ந்து உறை செய்த சந்து உலாம் தமிழ் மாலை வல்லவர்
those who are capable of singing the garland of tamiḻ verses having verse rhythm, composed by ñāṉacampantaṉ of Kaḻi where the high qualtiy coral comes to the shore and moves about, with the gift of Civaṉ grace.
