Civaṉ has a perfect form

வான மாமதியினர்
has a crescent that shines in the sky
நதியினர்
has a river (on his head)
மது ஆர்ந்த கடி கொள் கொன்றை அம் சடையினர்
wears on his caṭai fragrant koṉṟai flowers full of honey.
கொடியினர்
has Umai who is as tender as a creeper.
உடைபுலி அதள் ஆர்ப்பர்
ties as dress the skin of a tiger
அருவினை
irresistible Karmams.
விடை (அது) 1. எம்மான் அமர்ந்து இனிது உறை விற்குடி வீரட்டம், அடியர் ஆகி நின்று ஏத்துவார் தமை அடையா
will not reach those who having become devotees praise viṟkuṭivīraṭṭam where our Lord who rides on a bull dwells happily desiring it.

{$} களம் கொள் கொன்றையும் கதிர் விரி மதியமும் கடிகமழ் சடைக்கு ஏற்றி
Having loaded on the fragrant caṭai koṉṟai flowers that grow on the forest region and a crescent that spreads its rays.
உளம் கொள் பத்தர் பால் அருளிய பெருமையர்
Civaṉ has the fame of bestowing his grace on pious people who meditate upon him.
பொருகரி உரிபோர்த்து விளங்கும் மேனியர்
has a body which shines being covered with the skin of a fighting elephant.
எம் பெருமான் உறைவிற்துடி வீரட்டம்
viṟkuṭi vīraṭṭam where our Lord dwells.
வளம் கொள் மாமலரால் நினைந்து ஏத்துவார் வருத்தம் (அது) அறியார்
those who worship it with fertile and big flowers thinking of it and praise it will not know sufferings.

{$} கரிய கண்டத்தர்
Civaṉ having a black neck.
வெளிய வெண் பொடி அணி மார்பினர்
adorns his chest with an exceedingly white holy ash.
வலங்கையில் எரியர்
holds fire in the right hand.
சடை இடம் பெற
the caṭai to spread everywhere
காட்டகத்து ஆடிய வேடத்தர்
has an auspicious form with whic he danced in the cremation ground.
விரியும் மாமலர்ப் பொய்கை சூழ் மது மலி விற்குடி வீரட்டம் பிரிவிலாதவர்
those who are not separated from viṟkuṭi vīraṭṭam of abundant honey and surrounded by a natural tank with blossoming big flowers, in the mind, speech and body, by meditating on it, praising it and worshiping it physically.
பெருந்தவத்தோர் எனப் பேணுவர், உலகத்து
people of this world will love them as people who have performed great penance.

{$} பூதம் சேர்ந்து இசை பாடலர்; ஆடலர்
Civaṉ sings songs joining with pūtams, and dances.
பொலிதர நலம் ஆர்ந்த பாதம் சேர் இணைச் சிலம்பினர்
wears two anklets which are beautiful and shine and appear grand.
கலம் பெறு கடல் எழுவிடம் உண்டார்
drank the poison that rose in the ocean where ships sail
(கலம் பெறு கடல் the underlined words are generic epithets)
வேதம் ஓதிய நாவுடையான்
chants the vetam in his mouth.
விற்குடி வீரட்டம் சேரு நெஞ்சினர்க்கு அல்லது பிணிதீவீனை
-except for those who always fix their thoughts on viṟkuṭi vīraṭṭam is there any way of diseases and bad Karmams to be destroyed
[[த , ர are interchangeable in etukai; போதும் becomes போரும் in colloquial speech;
the etukai in this verse is worthy of note.]]

{$} கடிய ஏற்றினர்
Civaṉ has a bull of rapid gait.
கனல் அ(ன்)ன மேனியர்
has a body as red as fire.
அனல் எழ ஊர் மூன்றும் இடிய மால் வரை கால் வளைத்தான்
bent the ends of the bow which was a great mountain to make the three cities to break and the fire to rise in them.
தனது அடியவர்மேல் உள்ள வெடிய வல்வினை வீட்டுவிப்பான் உறை விற்குடி வீரட்டம் படியதாகவே பரவு மின்
praise naturally viṟkuṭu vīraṭṭam where Civaṉ causes the destruction of the irresistible Karmams which are immical, from his devotees. (People of this world!)
பரவினால் அருநோய் பற்று அறும்
if you praise him incurable diseases and attachments will be cut asunder

{$} பெண் ஓர் கூறினர்
Civaṉ has on one half a lady
பெருமையர்
has greatness
சிறு மறிக்கையினர்
holds in his hand a small young deer
மெய் ஆர்ந்த அண்ணல்
the god who is full of reality.
அன்பு செய்வார் (அவர்)க்கு எளியவர்
is easily accessible to those who love him.
அல்லார்க்கு அரியவர்
is difficult to be approached by others who do not love him.
விண்ணில் ஆர் பொழில் மல்கிய மலர்விரி விற்குடி வீரட்டம் எண் நிலாவிய சிந்தையினார் தமக்கு
those whose minds meditate upon viṟkuti vīraṭṭam where in the gardens which seem to touch the sky increasing flowers unfold their petals.
இடர்கள் வந்து அடையா
sufferings will not reach them.

{$} இடம் கொள் மால் கடல் இலங்கையர் கோன் தனை இகல் அழிதர
the strength of the king of the inhabitants of ilaṅkai girt by the big and extensive ocean to be completely destroyed.
ஊன்று திடம் கொள் மால் வரையான்
Civaṉ fixed firmly the seady and great mountain.
உரை ஆர்தரு பொருளினன்
is the meaning contained in the words.
இருள் ஆர்ந்த விடம் கொள் மிடறுடையவன் 1. உறைபதிவிற்குடி வீரட்டம் தொடங்கும் ஆறு இசைபாடி நின்றார் தமை
those who were singing music begining with viṟkuṭi vīraṭṭam which is the abode of Civaṉ who has a dark neck due to consuming the poison.
துன்ப நோய் அடையா
diseases which cause suffering will not reach them.

{$} செங்கண் மாலொடு நான் முகன் தேடியும் திருவடி அறியாமை எங்கும் ஆர் எரி ஆகிய இறைவனை
the all-abiding god who assumed the form of a fire that spread everywhere, though Māl with red eyes and Piramaṉ of four faces searched his head and feet, and could not know them.

who became great by flaying the elephant as huge as a big mountain and on whose head the sounding water stays.
விற்குடி வீரட்டம் தம்கையால் தொழுது ஏத்த வல்லார் (அவர்) தவம் மல்கு குணத்தார்
those who worship with their joined hands and praise viṟkuṭi vīraṭṭam (of Civaṉ) have the quality of icreasing penance.

{$} பிண்டம் உண்டு உழல்வார்களும்
camaṇar who roam about eating balls of cooked rice.
பிரிதுவர் ஆடையர் (அவர்)
and the buddhists who cover themselves with a cloth which can be removed.
வார்த்தை பண்டும் இன்றும் ஓர் பொருள் எனக் கருதன் மின்
(People of this world!) - do not consider their words as containing any substance, in the past and in the present.

people who have abundant love towards Civaṉ!

விண்டமாமலர்ச் சடையவன் இடம் விற்குடி வீரட்டம் எனில்
if anyone says that the place of Civaṉ who wears on his caṭai big blossomed flowers is viṟkuṭi vīraṭṭam.
கண்டு கொண்டு அடி காதல் செய்வார் (அவர்) கருத்துறும் குணத்தாரே
those who visit that place and cherish with love the feet of god are people having good intentions.

{$} விலங்கலே சிலை இடம் என உடையவன்
about Civaṉ who has the mountain, mēru as his bow and Kayilai as his abode.
விற்குடி வீரட்டத்து இலங்கு சோதியை
the effulgent light that dwells in viṟkuṭi vīraṭṭam
எம் பெருமான் தனை
our god.
எழில் திகழ் பேணி
loving the beautiful feet.
நலம் கொள் வார்பொழில் காழியுள் ஞானசம்பந்தன் நல் தமிழ் மாலை வலம் கொடே இசை மொழியுமின்
(People of this world!) recite the garland of good tamiḻ composed by ñāṉacampantaṉ, a native of Kāḻi whic has tall and beautiful gardens, with music, victoriously.
