{$} பொடி கொள் மேனி வெண்நூலினர் தோலினர்
Civaṉ wears on his body which is smeared with sacred ash, a white sacred thread.
புலி உரி அதள் ஆடை கொடி கொள் ஏற்றினர்
has a flag on which the figure of a bull is drawn and a dress made of the skin flayed from a tiger.
மணி கிணின் என வரு குரைகழல் சிலம்பு ஆர்க்க
the sound producing Kaḻal, the tiny bell in it to make a sound resembling kiṇiṉ and the anklet to produce a sound.
கடி கொள் பூம் பொழில் சூழ் தரு கடிக் குளத்து உறையும் கற்பகத் தைத்தம் முடிகள் சாய்ந்து
bowing their heads before the Kaṟpakam who resides in Kaṭikkuḷam surrounded by beautiful and fragrant gardens.
அடி வீழ்தரும் அடியாரை முன்வினை மூடா (ஏ)
the accumulated acts done in previous births will not encompass the devotees who fall at his feet.

{$} விண்களார் தொழும் விளக்கினை
Civaṉ, the light worshipped by the celestials (விண்களார் should be taken as விண்ணார்கள்).
துளக்கு இலா விகிர்தனை
who is different from this world and who is unshakable.
மண்களார் துதித்து அன்பராய் இன்புறும் வள்ளலை
the perseon of unbounded liberality in whom the people of this world enjoy pleasure being devotees by praising him.
மருவித்தம் கண்கள் ஆர் தரக் கண்டு
having a vision of him to the complete satisfaction of the eyes by being united together in affection.
நம் கடிக்குளத்து உறை கற்பகத்தைப் பண்கள் ஆரப் பாடுவார்
those who sing about our Kaṟpakam who dwells in Kaṭikkuḷam setting his praises in melody-types.
கேடு இலர்
will not know destruction
பழி இலர்
will have no blemish.
புகழ் ஆம் (ஏ)
they will attain fame.

{$} பொங்கு நற்கரி உரி (அது) போர்ப்பது
Civaṉ has a covering of the skin of a well-grown and angry elephant.
புலி அதள் 1. அழல் நாகம் தங்க மங்கையைப் பாகம் (அது) உடையவர் தழல் புரை திருமேனி
has as one half a lady, the skin of a tiger, and a poisonous cobra to stay in his body which is like fire.
கங்கை சேர்தரு சடையினர்
has a catai in which Kaṅkai has joined.
கடிக்குளத்து உறை கற்பகத்தை எங்கும் ஏத்தி நின்று இன்புறும் அடியாரை இடும்பை வந்து அடையா (ஏ)
suffering will not come near and reach the devotees who feel immense pleasure in praising everywhere the Kaṟpakam who dwells in Kaṭikkuḷam

{$} நீர் கொள் நீள் சடை முடியனை
Civaṉ who has a long catai coiled into a crown which contains water of (the Kaṅkai)
நித்திலத் தொத்தினை
who is cluster of pearls.
நிகர் இல்லாப் பார் கொள் பாரிடத்தவர் தொழும் பவளத்தை
the unequalled coral which is worshipped by the people of this world which has rocks.
பசும் பொனை
the superior gold
விசும்பு ஆரும் கார் கொள் பூம் பொழில் சூழ்தரு கடிக் குளத்து உறையும் கற்பகம் தன்னை
and the Kaṟpakam which dwells in Kaṭikkuḷam surrounded by flower gardens on which clouds settle and reach the sky by their height.
சீர் கொள் 1. செல்வங்கள் ஏத்தவல்லார் வினை தேய்வது தி(ண்)ணம் ஆம் (ஏ)
It is certain that the acts of those who are able to praise all the renowned wealth of Civaṉ will decrease gradually.

{$} சுரும்பு சேர் சடை முடியினன் மதியொடு துன்னிய தழல் நாகம்
Civaṉ has on his caṭai coiled into a crown which the bees reach, a crescent and a poisonous cobra which is by its side.
அரும்பு தாது அவிழ்ந்து அலர்ந்தன மலர் பல கொண்டு அடியவர் போற்ற
when the devotees praise him with many flowers which have blosomed and unfolded the pollen leaving the stage of bud.
கரும்பு கார் மலி கொடி மிடை கடிக் குளத்து உறை தரு கற்பகத்தை 1. விரும்பு வேட்கையோடு உளம் மகிழ்ந்து உரைப் பவர் விதி உடையவர் (தாம், ஏ)
those whoo speak with their hearts full of joy and desire which cherishes him with love, the Kaṟpakam who dwells in Kaṭikkuḷam where the sugar-cane and the flags which touch the clouds are crowded, are really fortunate.

{$} மாது இலங்கிய பாகத்தன்
Civaṉ has on one half of his body a lady who is eminent.
மதியமொடு, அலைபுனல், அழல் நாகம், போது இலங்கிய கொன்றையும், மத்தமும், புரிசடைக்கு அழகாக
the crescent, moving water, poisonous cobra, shining buds of koṉṟai, datura flowers being beautiful in the twisted caṭai
காது இலங்கிய குழையினன்
wearing the men`s ear-ring in the right ear, which is shining.
கடிக்குளத்து உறைதரு கற்பகத்தின் பாதம் கை தொழுது ஏத்த வல்லார் வினை
the acts of those who are able to praise with joined hands the feet of the Kaṟpakam who dwells in Kaṭikkuḷam.
பற்று அறக் கெடும் (அன்று, ஏ)
will perish losing their grip.

{$} 1. குலவு கோலத்த கொடி நெடு மாடங்கள் குழாம்பல குளிர் பொய்கை உலவு புள் இனம் அன்னங்கள் ஆலிடும் (கடிக்குளத்து)
in Kaṭikkuḷam which has many cool natural tanks, in which swans and flocks of other birds are wandering, societies of devotees, tall storeys in which flags are hoisted and which have beautiful forms.
பூவை சேரும் கூந்தல் கலவை சேர்தரு கண்ணியன்
wearing a chaplet made with different kinds of flowers, and a lady with tresses of hair on which she wears flowers of iron-wood tree;

கடிக்குளத்து உறையும் கற்பகத்தைச் சீர் நலவி நின்று நின்று ஏத்தவார் மேல் வினை நிற்க கில்லா (தான், ஏ)
the acts have not the strength to stay with those who praise always being steadfast and fixing in their minds the fame of Kaṟppakam who dwells in Kaṭikkuḷam.

{$} மடுத்த வாள் அரக்கன் (அவன்)
that arakkaṉ who has a sword that pierced into the bodies of enemies.
மலை தன்மேல் மதியிலாமையில் ஓடி
running towards the mountain, Kayilai, as he had no good sense.
எடுத்தலும்
as soon as he lifted it.
முடி, தோள், கரம், நெரிந்து 1. இற இறையவன் விரல் ஊன்ற
as the Lord Civaṉ fixed his toe to make the heads, shoulders and hands to be crushed and crackled and be split.
கடுத்து வாயொடு கையெடுத்து அலறிட
raising his hands to roar by his mouth feeling pain.
2. கடிக்குளம் தனில் மேவி
staying in Kaṭikkuḷam.
பேரருள் கொடுத்த கூத்தனை ஏத்துவார் குணம் உடையவர் (தாம், ஏ)
those who praise the dancer who bestowed his benign grace on him, are people endowed with good qualities.

{$} நீரினார் கடல் துயின்றவன் அயனொடு நிகழ் அடி முடி காணார் பாரினார் விசும்பு உறப் பரந்து எழுந்தது ஒர் பவளத்தின் படி ஆகி
assuming the form of a fire which is like coral in colour and raising high in the sky and spreading everywhere, when Māl who slept in the ocean of water and Ayaṉ, being unable to find the shining feet and head, even though they digged the earth and flew into the sky (respectively).
காரின் ஆர் பொழில் சூழ்தரு கடிக்குளத்து உறையும் கற்பகத்தின் தன் சீரின் ஆர் கழல் ஏத்த வல்லார் களைத் தீவீனை அடையா (ஏ)
the sins will not go near those who are able to praise the famous feet of the Lord, Kaṟpakam, who dwells in Kaṭikkuḷam surrounded by gardens which are like sable clouds;

பெரிய முகில்போலும் மிகவும் பெரிய பொழில் (Do. Pērāciriyar);

கார் தங்கும் பொழில் எனினும் அமையும் (Do.);
மேகம் போன்ற பொழில்; மேகம் ஏய்க்கும் இளங்கமுகம் பொழில் (campantar Kōmuttiri, 5).]]

{$} குண்டர் தம்மொடு
the low people (தம், ஒடு are expletives).
சாக்கியர் சமணரும் குறியினில் நெறிநில்லா மிண்டர் மிண்டு உரை கேட்டு அவை மெய் எனக் கெள்ளன் மின்
(Devotees!) Do not accept as truth the presumptuous talks of the ignorant cākkiyar (Buddhists) and camaṇar who do not follow the proper way with any aim;
விடம் உண்ட கண்டர்
Civaṉ who has a neck which retains the poison that he consumed.
முண்ட நன்மேனியர்
has a body on which he wears the sacred ash in three horizontal lines;

செஞ்சவே ஆண்டுகொண்டான் திருமுண்டம் தீட்ட மாட்டாது, அஞ்சுவார் அவரைக் கண்டால்- (tiruvacakam accappattu, 9)]]
கடிக்குளத்து உறைதரும் எம் ஈசர்
our Lord of the universe who dwells in Kaṭikkuḷam.
தொண்டர் தொண்டரைத் தொழுது அடி பணிமின்கள்
(Devotees!) worshipping the devotees of the devotees with joined hands, fall at their feet.
தூ நெறி எளிது (ஆம், ஏ)
the pure path will be easy of attainment.

{$} கனம் மலி கடல் ஓதம் வந்து உலவிய கடிக் குளத்து அமர்வானை
on Civaṉ who resides with pleasure in Kaṭikkuḷam where the waves of the sea with many clouds, move.
தனம் மலி புகழ் தயங்கு பூந்த ராயவர் மன்னன்
the chief of the residents of pūntarai which is eminent by its wealth and great fame.
நல்சம்பந்தன

மனமலி புகழ் வண்டமிழ் மால்கள் 1. மாலதாய் மிகழ்வோடும் இனம் மலிந்து இசை பாட வல்லார்கள் போய் இறைவனோடு இருப்பார் (ஏ)
those who sings with music in groups of devotees with pleasure and desire the rich tamiḻ verses containing the fame of Civaṉ who occupied his mind, will be with the Lord entering into Civalōkam after leaving this world.
