கடும்புனல் நிவாமல்கு கரைமேல்

அம்தண்சோலை நெல்வாயில் அரத்துறை அடிகள்தம்அருள் (ஏ)
the grace of the god in the temple arattuṟai in nelvayil which has beautiful and cool gardens.
எந்தை ஈசன் எம்பெருமான், ஏறுஅமர் கடவுள்' என்று ஏந்தி
praising Civaṉ as, our father, Lord of the universe, our Lord and who is seated on a bull'
சிந்தை செய்பவர்க்கு அல்லால்
except for those who meditated on him in the above-mentioned manner.
சென்று கை கூடுவது அன்று (ஆல்)
approaching him proper is difficult.

is not such a thing that it will reach the intellectually blind people who do not sincerely praise the wealth and fame of our Lord who adorns his cool and long caṭai with a young crescent, but simply worship with joined hands mechanically.

அணிகலந்த நெல்வாயில் அரத்துறை அடிகள்தம் அருள் (ஏ)
the grace of god in arattuṟai in nelvāyil united with beauty.
பிணி கலந்த புன்சடைமேல் பிறை அணிசிவன் எனப்பேணி
cherishing with love the Lord as Civaṉ who adorns his ruddy caṭai intertwined with a crescent.
பணி கலந்து செய்யாத பாவிகள் தொழச் செல்வது அன்று (ஆல்)
will not reach the cruel people who do not perform service to him by the mind, the speech, and the body being in agreement, but simply worship with joined hands mechanically.

the grace of the god who dwells in the temple arattuṟai in nelvāyil where swans live in large numbers.
துன்ன ஆடை ஒன்று உடுத்து
wearing as dress a loin cloth which is stitched

is not such an easy thing to reach even a little to other people except those who think of him and languish.

{$} முருகு உரிஞ்சு பூஞ்சோலை மொய்ம் மலர் சுமந்து இழி நிவாவந்து அருகு உரிஞ்சு நெல்வாயில் அரத்துறை அடிகள்தம் அருள் (ஏ)
the grace of the god who dwells in arattuṟai in nelvāyil where the river, sivā, comes and rubs the banks carrying the crowded flowers from the flower gardens from which the fragrance rubs all things and flows.
வெருகு உரிஞ்சு வெங்காட்டில் ஆடியவிமலன் என்று உள்கி
meditating as the immaculate god who danced in the hot cremation ground where the wild cats rub their bodies.
உருகிநைபவர்க்கு அல்லால்
except for those whose hearts melt and languish.
ஒன்றும் கை கூடுவது அன்று (ஆல்)
for others is impossible to reach them at even a little.

on the bank of the river, niva which has cool increasing water which is pushing big flowers of bottle-flower trees.
அரவம் ஆரும் நெல்வாயில் அரத்துறை அடிகள் தம் அருள்(ஏ)
the grace of the god in the temple arattuṟai in nelvāyil where bustle fills everywhere.
உரவு நீர்ச் சடைக்கரந்த ஒருவன் என்று உள்குளிர்ந்து ஏத்தி
praising to the complete satisfaction of the heart as the unequalled one who concealed the spreading water in the caṭai.
பரவிநைபவர்க்கு அல்லால்
except for those who praise him in the second person and languish
பரிந்துகை கூடுவது அன்று (ஆல்)
for others is difficult to reach that with affection.

on the bank of the river, nivā of increasing cool water which is pushing big and beautiful flow-ers.
(மயில்) ஆலும் சோலை நெல்வாயில் அரத்துறை அடிகள் தம் அருள்(ஏ)
the grace of the god in the temple arattuṟai in nelvāyil which has gardens in which peacocks dance.
நீல மாமணி மிடற்று நீறு அணி சிவன் எனப்பேணும் சீலம் மாந்தர்கட்கு அல்லால் சென்று கை கூடுவது அன்று (ஆல்)
it is difficult for others except for those who cherish Civaṉ with love and have good conduct as Civaṉ who smears sacred ash and has a blue neck like the sapphire

{$} செழுந்தண் மால்வரை எடுத்தசெருவலி இராவணன் அலற
Irāvaṇaṉ who has strength enough to fight and who lifted the fertile, cool and big mountain, Kayilai, to roar.
அழுந்த ஊன்றியவிரலான்! போற்றி என்பார்க்கு அல்லது
except for those who say god who has a toe which he fixed to press close! protect me.
கொழுங்கனி சுமந்து உந்திக் குளிர் புனல் நிவா மல்கு கரைமேல் அழுந்தும் சோலை நெல்வாயில் அரத்துறை அடிகள் தம் அருள் (ஏ) அருளான்
the god in the temple arattuṟai, in nelvāyil which has gardens close to one another, on the bank of the river, nivā, which has swelling cool water which carries and pushes luxuriant fruits, will not grant his grace.

on the bank of the river, nivā which has swelling floods and which spreads fragrance and pushes gold.
அணங்கும் சோலை நெல்வாயில் அரத்துறை அடிகள் தம் அருள் (ஏ)
the grace of the god in the temple arattuṟai in nelvāyil which has gardens united with that place.
நுணங்கு நூல் அயன் (உம்) மாலும் இருவரும் நோக்க அரியானை வணங்கி நைபவர்க்கு அல்லால்
except for those who bow before Civaṉ who could not be seen by Ayaṉ who had studied works of subtle truths, and Māl, and languish.
வந்து கை சூடுவது அன்று (ஆல்)
for others is difficult to reach it.

{$} பூக்கமழ்ந்து பொன் உந்திப் பொருபுனல் நிவாமல்கு கரைமேல்
on the bank of the river, nivā of swelling floods, which dashes against the banks and carries fragrance of flowers and pushes gold.
ஆர்க்கும் சோலை நெல்வாயில் அரத்துறை அடிகள் தம் அருள் (ஏ)
the grace of the god who dwells in the temple, arattuṟai in nelvāyil having gardens which make a big sound when wind passes through them.
சாக்கியப் படுவாரும்
those who have fallen into the buddhists religion.
சமண்படுவார்களும் மற்றும் பாக்கியப்படல் இல்லாப் பாவிகள் தொழச் செல்வது அன்று (ஆல்)
and the sinners like those who have fallen into amaṇ religion and others who do not have the good fortune to embrance caivism, will feel it difficult to reach it if they worship with joined hands mechanically.

{$} கறையின் ஆர்பொழில் சூழ்ந்த காழியுள் ஞானசம்பந்தன்
campantaṉ who is a native of kāḻi surrounded by dark gardens due to the densensess of trees.
அறையும் பூம்புனல் பரந்த அரத்துறை அடிகள்தம் அருளை
about the grace of the god in arattuṟai where the beautiful water which dashes against the banks, spreads.
முறைமையால் சொன்ன பாடல் மொழியும் மாந்தர்தம் வினைபோய்ப் பறையும்
the acts, good and bad of those who can recite the verses which were sung by him in the proper manner will decrease gradually leaving them.
பாட்டு இவை பத்தும் வல்லார்க்கே
only for those who are well versed in the meaning of these ten verses.
ஐயுறவு இல்லை
there is no doubt about it.
