{$} வாடிய வெண்தலை மாலை சூடி
having worn the garland of skulls in which the flesh has dried.
மயங்கு இருள்
in the darkness which cannot be distinguished whether it is day or night.
நீடு உயர்கொள்ளி விளக்கும் ஆக
having as light the very long fire-brand.
நிவந்த எரி ஆடிய எம் பெருமான் அகத்தியான் பள்ளியைப் பாடிய சிந்தையினார்கட்கு
to those who sing the praises of Akattiyāṉpaḷḷi of our Lord who danced in the rising fire.
பாவம் (ஏ) இல்லை (ஆம்)
there will be no sins.

{$} துன்னம் கொண்ட உடையான்
Civaṉ wears a loin-cloth stitched with several pieces of cloth;

துதைந்த வெண்ணீற்றான்
smears his body thickly with a coating of whtie sacred ash.
மன்னும் கொன்றை மதமத்தம் சூடினான் மாநகர்
the great city of Civaṉ who adorns his head profusely with koṉṟai and datura flowers
அன்னம் தங்கும் பொழில் சூழ் அகத்தியான் பள்ளியை
akattiyāṉpaḷḷi which is surrounded by gardens where swans stay.
உன்னம் செய் மனத்தார்கள் தம் வினை ஓடும் (ஏ)
the acts good and bad of those who meditate upon the shrine will flee from them.

{$} பொழில் சூழ் அகத்தியான் பள்ளியான்
the Lord in akattiyāṉpaḷḷi surrounded by gardens.
உடுத்ததுவும் புலித்தோல்
dresses in tiger`s skin
உண்பதும் பலி திரிந்து
eats from alms for which he wanders.
கடுத்து வந்த காலன் தன்னையும் காலனால் 1. அடர்த்ததுவும்
killed with his leg even the god of death who came angrily upon mārkkaṇtēyaṉ
தொடுத்ததுவும் சரம் முப்புரம் துகள் ஆக(ஏ)
shot arrow from the bow to reduce the three cities to ash.

{$} பொழில் சூழ் அகத்தியான் பள்ளியான்
Civaṉ in akattiyāṉpaḷḷi surrounded by gardens.
காய்ந்ததுவும் அன்று காமனை நெற்றிக் கண்ணினால்
burnt in the past Kamaṉ (cupid) with the frontal eye.
பாய்ந்ததுவும் கழல் காலனை
sprang upon Kalaṉ and killed him with his leg.
பண்ணின் நான் மறை ஆய்ந்ததும்
what he investigated the four vētams which had music in them.
ஏய்ந்ததுவும் இமவான்மகள் ஒரு பாகம் (ஏ)
was united with the daughter of imavāṉ on one half.

{$} பொழில் சூழ் அகத்தியான் பள்ளியான்
see 3rd verse.
போர்த்ததுவும் கரியின் உரி
covered himself as a blanket with the skin of an elephant.
புலித்தோல் உடை
has a dress of a tiger`s skin.
கூரத்தது ஓர் வெண்மழு ஏந்தி
holding a white battle-axe which is very sharp.
கோள் அரவம் அரைக்கும் ஆர்த்ததுவும்
tied in his waist a cobra capable of killing.
பார்த்ததுவும் (ம்) அரணம் படர் எரி மூழ்க (ஏ)
fixed his gaze on the fortifications to be engulfed by the spreading fire.

{$} பொழில் சூழ் அகத்தியான் பள்ளியான்

தெரிந்துவும் கணை ஒன்று
selected a single arrow
முப்புரம் சென்று உடன் எரிந்ததுவும்
burnt the three cities at the same time, going there.
முன் எழில் ஆர் மலர் உறைவான் தலை அரிந்ததுவும்
cut of the head ofpiramaṉ who dwells in a beautiful flower, long ago.
புரிந்ததுவும்(ம்) உமையாள் ஒர் பாகம் புனைதல் (ஏ)
desired to adorn himself on one half Umayāḷ

{$} எல்லாம் ஓதி உலகுக்கு 1. ஓர் ஒண் பொருள் ஆகி
being a thing of splendour which is unequalled, the one who revealed all the vētams chanting them!
மெய்ச் சோதி என்று தொழுவார்(அவர்) துயர் தீர்த்திடும் ஆதி எங்கள் பெருமான் அகத்தியான் பள்ளியை 2. நீதியால் தொழுவார் வினை நீங்கும்(ஏ)
the acts, good and bad of those who worship with joined hand, with a disciplined mine, akattiyāṉ paḷḷi of our Lord who is the first cause and who definitely removes the sufferings of those who worship him thinking him to be true supreme light, will vanish.

{$} பொழில் சூழ் அகத்தியான் பள்ளியான்

செறுத்ததுவும் தக்கன் வேள்வியை
destroyed the sacrifice performed by takkaṉ
திருந்தார்புரம் ஒறுத்ததுவும்
punished by burning the cities of the enemies
ஒளி மாமலர் உறைவான் சிரம் அறுத்ததுவும்
cut of the head of Piramaṉ who dwells in a bright and big (lotus) flower
இறுத்ததுவும் அரக்கன்தன் தோள்கள் இருபது (ஏ)
smashed the twenty shoulders of the arakkaṉ

{$} சிரமும், நல்ல மதி, மத்தமும், திகழ் கொன்றையும், அரவும், மலகு செஞ்சடையான் அகத்தியான் பள்ளியைப் பிரமனோடு திருமாலும் தேடிய 1. பெற்றிமை பரவ வல்லார் (அவர்) தங்கள் மேல் வினை பாறும் (ஏ)
the acts, good and bad which are with those who can praise the event of Piramaṉ and tirumāl who searched in vain the head and feet of Civaṉ in akattiyāṉpaḷḷi, who has on his red caṭai a skull, beautiful crescent, datura flowers, shining koṉṟai flowers and a cobra all of which are flourishing, will flee from them.

{$} செந்துவர் ஆடையினாரும் வெற்றரையே திரி புந்தி இல்லார்களும் பேசும் பேச்சு(அவை) பொய்ம்மொழி
the doctirnes preached by the buddhist who wear a robe soaked in red ochre and the camaṇar who have no intellect and who wander naked, do not contain any truth; they are lies.
அந்தணன் எங்கள் பிரான் அகத்தியான் பள்ளியைச் சிந்திமின்
(People of this world!) meditate upon akattiyāṉ palli of our Lord, Civaṉ who is a brahmin among gods.
நும் வினை 1. ஆனவை சிதைந்து ஓடும் (ஏ)
all your acts good and bad will be destroyed and will run away from you.

{$} மாமயில் ஆலும் சோலை புடை சூழ் அகத்தியான் பள்ளியுள்
in akattiyāṉ paḷḷi which is surrounded on all sides by gardens where the big peacocks dance.
ஞாலம் மல்கும் தமிழ் ஞானசம்பந்தன்
-ñāṉacampantaṉ who has knowledge of tamiḻ which is flourishing in this world.
சூலம் நல்ல படையான் அடி தொழுது ஏத்திய மாலை வல்லார் (அவர்) தங்கள் மேல வினை மாயும் (ஏ)
the acts good and bad which are with those who are capable of reciting the garlands of verses composed in praise of the feet of Civaṉ who has a good weapon of a trident, and worshipping them with joined hands, will perish.
