Kōmūttiri:
In rhetoric, verse of two lines composed in such way that the first letter of the Ist, the 2nd of the 2nd, the 3rd of the Ist, the 4th of the 2nd, etc. When read together form the Ist line, and the Ist of the 2nd, the 2nd of the Ist, the 3rd of the 2nd, the 4th of the Ist, etc from the 2nd line.
கோமூத்திரி:
இரண்டு வரியாக எழுதி மேலும் கீழும் ஓன்று இடைவிட்டு வாசித்தாலும் அதுது -

pukali in which there is no defiency
பூமேல் மா மகள் ஊர் வெங்குரு
veṅkuru which is adorned by the goddess of wealth who is seated in the lotus flower.

வாய்ந்த இஞ்சிச் சேமம் மிகு சிரபுரம்
Civapuram which has the protection of the wall of enclosure which is suitable to the city.

the place where the god who destroyed the enemies of the tēvar-s in this world, having begotten Cēntaṉ (Murukaṉ)
காய்ந்து வருகாலனை அன்று உதைத்தவன் ஊர்
the place of the god who kicked the Kālaṉ (god of death) who came angrily (upon mārkaṇtēyaṉ) in the past.
