Civaṉ who has a stag in the beautiful hand!
கொங்கை ஆரும் கூந்தல் அலைவாழும் செஞ்சடையீர்
who has a red caṭai on which the waves of the Kaṅkai who has tresses of hair in which there is fragrance, are full.
அரவும் பிறையும் அமர்வித்தீர்
who made the cobra and the crescent to stay there.
குலை வாழை கமுகம் பொன் பவளம் பழுக்கும் குடவாயில் நிலைவாழும் கோயிலே கோயிலாக நின்றீரே
you stayed as your favourite temple in the temple which is permanent, Kuṭavāyil where plaintain trees bear ripe fruits resembling gold colour and areca-palm fruits resembling coral in colour

the golden kaḻal and the anklet that are worn on the feet to make a sound.
அங்கையில் செடி ஆர்ந்த வெண்தலை ஒன்று ஏந்தி உலகம் பலி தேர்வீர்
you collect alms wandering in the world, holding in the palm a white skull having the stench of flesh.
குடி ஆர்ந்த மாமறையோர் குலாவி ஏத்தும் குடவாயில் படி ஆர்ந்த கோயிலே கோயிலாகப் பயின்றீரே
[you] resided in the temple which can be compared to other temples, in Kuṭavāyil where brahmins of noble lineage praise you with delight; as your favourite temple.

Civaṉ who wears Kaḻal in the feet which are as soft as flower.
ஓதக் கடலில் விடம் அன்று உண்டு அழல் ஆர்ந்த கண்டத்தீர்
you have in your neck the heat as a result of consuming the poison which rose in the ocean which has waves.
அண்டர் போற்றும் அளவினீர்
you grant your grace according to the intensity of devotion when celestials praise you
குழல் ஆர வண்டினங்கள் கீதத்து ஒலி செய் குடவாயில் நிழல் (1) ஆர்ந்த கோயிலே கோயிலாக நிகழ்ந்தீரே
you were present in the temple which has splendour in Kuṭavāyil where the swarms of bees hum melody types resembling music produced by flute, as your favourite temple.

you have an idea of holding fire and a big battle-axe which can be thrown on enemies and are united with a lady of distinction as one half.
குறி (1) ஆர வண்டினங்கள் தேன் மிழற்றும் குடவாயில்
in Kuṭavāyil where the swarms of bees hum sweetly like honey with the idea of opening the petals of buds.

you consumed the poison to be praised by the celestials who do not wink.
குரவு ஆர்ந்த பூஞ்சோலை வாசம் வீசும் குடவாயில்
in Kuṭavāyil where the beautiful gardens which have common bottle flower trees, spread their fragrance.
திரு ஆர்ந்த கோயிலே கோயிலாகத் திகழ்ந்தீரே
you were shining in the beautiful temple as your favourite temple.

அரிவை போற்றும் ஆற்றலீர்
you have the power which is praised by the lady, Umai.
கோடல் ஆர் தும்பி முரன்று இசை மிழற்றும் குடவாயில்
in Kuṭavāyil where the superior variety of bee, tumpi which settles on the white malabar glory lily hums and sings music.

ñāṉacampantaṉ of Kaḻi which has cool water having beautiful waves.
குளிர் பூங்குடவாயில் கோயில் மேய கோமானை
on the king who dwells with desire in the temple in cool and beautiful Kuṭavāyil.
ஒளிர் பூந்தமிழ் மாலை உரைத்த பாடல் இவை வல்லார்
those who are capable of reciting these garlands of shining tamiḻ verses, composed by him.
தளர்வு ஆன (தான்) ஒழியத் தகு சீர் வானத்து இருப்பாரே
will dwell in the heaven of fitting fame as the sufferings caused by depression of spirits, leave them.
