{$} கருந்தடங்கண்ணின் மாதரார் இசை செய்ய
when the ladies with black and large eyes sing sweet music.
கார் அதிர்கின்ற பூம் பொழிற்குருந்தம் மாதவியின் விரைமல்கு கோட்டாற்றில் இருந்த எம்பெருமானை உள்கி
thinking of our Lord who dwells in Kōṭṭāṟu where in the flower gardens the clouds thunder, and the fragrance of the wild lime tree and common delight of the woods is increasing
இணை அடி தொழுது ஏத்து மாந்தர்கள் வருந்துமாறு அறியார்
those who worship with joined hands, and praise, the two feet will not know any suffering.
வானூடே நெறிசேர்வர்
will reach the world of bliss passing through heaven.

{$} நின்று மேய்ந்து நினைந்து மாகரி
the big elephant standing, grazing and thinking.
நீரொடும் மலர் வேண்டிவான் மழை குன்றின் ஏர்ந்து குத்தி
piercing the cloud in the sky rising like a hill, desiring water and flowers.
பணி செய்யும் கோட்டாற்றுள்
in Kōttāṟu where it does service to god.
என்றும் மன்னிய எம்பிரான் கழல் ஏத்திவான் அரசு ஆளவல்லவர் பொன்றுமாறு அறியார்
those who can rule over the heaven praising the feet of our master who permanently dwells there do not know death.
புகழ் ஆர்ந்த புண்ணியரே
are virtuous people whose fame has spread all over the world.

{$} விரவி நாளும் விழாவிடைப்பொலி தொண்டர் வந்து வியந்து பண் செயக், குரவம் ஆரும் நிழல் பொழில் மல்கு கோட்டாற்றில்
in Koṭṭāṟu where gardens giving shade are prosperous in which bottle flower trees are numerous, and the eminent devotees join daily in the festivals and sing with wonder.
அரவம் நீள் சடையானை உள்கி நின்று ஆதரித்து முன் அன்பு செய்து அடி பரவுமாறு வல்லார்
those who are able to praise the feet (of Civaṉ) cherishing them with love and standing in his presence wishing for him, thinking of Civaṉ who has a long catai on which there is a cobra.
பழி பற்று அறுப்பார்
will cut all reproach and attachment

{$} அம்பின் நேர்வழி மங்கை மார் பலர் ஆடகம் பெறு மாடமாளிகைக் கொம்பின் ஏர் துகிலின் கொடியாடு கோட்டாற்றில்
in Kōṭṭāṟu which has dancing stages where many young girls with eyes as sharp as arrows and where the flags made of cloth tied to the staff flutter in the wind in the storeyed mansions.
நம்பனே, நடனே, நலம் திகழ் நாதனே யென்று காதல் செய்பவர்
those who bestow their love addressing him as Civaṉ, the dancer, and the master who can grant the eminent supreme bliss.
தம்பின் தடுமாற்றவில்வினை நேர்ந்து அறியார்
do not know the occurance of the irresistible Karmans which toss the soul about, following them wherever they are born.

{$} பழைய தம் அடியார் துதி செய்யப் பாருளோர்களும் விண்ணுளோர் தொழ
as the immortals in heaven and the people of this earth worship with joined hands and the devotees to whom comes as heritage, praise him.
குழலும் மொந்தை விழா ஒலி செய்யும் கோட்டாற்றில்
in Kōṭṭāṟu where in the festivals flutes and montai are played.
கழலும் வண்சிலம்பும் ஒலி செயக் கானிடைக்கணம் ஏத்த ஆடிய அழகன் என்று எழுவார் அணி (1) ஆவர் வானவர்க்கே
those who rise from sleep thinking of the beautiful god who danced in the cremation ground when the Kaḻal and beautiful anklet make a sound, to be praised by the groups of pūtam and pēy, are ornaments to the immortals in heaven.

{$} பஞ்சின் மெல்லடி மாதர், ஆடவர், பத்தர், சித்தர்கள் பண்பு வைகலும் கொஞ்சி இன் மொழியால் தொழில் மல்கு கோட்டாற்றில்
in Kōṭṭāṟu where ladies with feet as soft as cotton, males, devotees, persons possessing eight kinds of mystic powers, daily talk about his nature softly and increase in their acts of worship.
மஞ்சனே, மணியே, மணிமிடற்று அண்ணலே என உள் நெகிழ்ந்தவர் துஞ்சும் ஆறு அறியார் பிறவார் இத்தொல் நிலத்தே
those whose hearts melted uttering the names, `the strong youth! the ruby! the chief who has a neck as blue as a sapphire' do not know death and will not be born in this very old earth.

{$} கலவம் மாமயிலாள் ஒர் பங்கனைக் கண்டு கண்மிசை நீர் நெகிழ்த்து இசை குலவுமாறுவல்லார் குடி கொண்ட கோட்டாற்றில்
in Kōṭṭāṟu where people who reside there and rejoice in singing the praises of Civaṉ ((have)) tears rolling down the eyes on seeing Civaṉ who has as a half a lady as gentle as the big peacock with a long tail.
(1) நிலவு மா மதி சேர் சடை நின்மலா என உன்னுவார் அவர் உலவு வானவரின் உயர்வாகுவது உண்மையதே
it is certainly true that those who meditate ((thinking such things)) as ``the immaculate Civaṉ who has on his caṭai a crescent that gives light!'' are superior to the celestials who can go everywhere they wish'.

{$} வண்டல் ஆர்வயல் சாலி ஆலை வளம் பொலிந்திடவார்புனல் திரை கொண்டலார் கொணர்ந்து அங்கு உலவும் திகழ் கோட்டாற்றில்
in shining Kōṭṭāṟu where the waves of the flowing water are brought by the clouds, roam about for the paddy and sugar-cane growing in the fields with alluvial soil to thrive by the fertility

the devotees come thinking of Civaṉ and worship him.
கண்ணனோடு அயன் தேட
when Kaṇṇaṉ (Māl) and Ayaṉ (Piramaṉ) searched for you.
ஆனையின் குருதி மேய் கலப்ப உரி (1) கொண்டு
having the skin of an elephant when its blood mixed with your body.

விருதினால் மடமாதும் நீயும் வியப்பொடும் உயர் கோயில் மேவி
yourself and the young lady with the title dwelling with desire in the superior temple with wonder.
வெள் எருது உகந்தவனே! இரங்காய் உனது இன்னருளே
one who rides on a white bull! take pity on me and grant me your benign grace

{$} உடை இலாது உழல்கின்ற குண்டரும் ஊண் அருந்தவத்தாகிய சாக்கியர் கொடையிலா மனத்தார் குறை ஆரும் கோட்டாற்றில்
in Kōṭṭāṟu where the low people of camanar who wander naked and cākkiyar (buddhists) who perform penance without taking food and who have no mind to give anything good but dilate upon the faults.
படையில் ஆர் மழு ஏந்தி ஆடிய பண்பனே
Civaṉ who has the nature of dancing holding a rare battle-axe among weapons!
இவர் நுணை அடைகிலாத வண்ணம் என்? உன் அடியவர்க்கு அருளாய்
what is the reason for these people for not reading and saving themselves by worshiping you? please tell your devotees that reason.

{$} காலனைக்கழலால் உதைத்து
kicking the Kālaṉ (the god of death) with his leg.
ஒரு காமனைக் கனலாகச் சீறி
Being angry with the unequalled Kāmaṉ to be burnt.
மெய் கோல வார் குழலாள் குடி கொண்ட கோட்டாற்றில்
in Kōṭṭāṟu when the lady with long and beautiful tresses of hair is occupying his body.
மூலனை
the origin of all things.
முடிவு ஒன்றும் இல்லாத எம் முத்தனை
our Lord who is naturally free from all bondage and who has no end (death)
பயில் பந்தன் சொல்லிய மாலை பத்தும் வல்லார்க்கு எளிதாகும் வானகமே
for those who are able to recite all the ten verses by pantaṉ who always practises in singing the fame of Civaṉ, heaven is easy of reach.
