{$} பால் ஊரும் மலைப்பாம்பும் பனி மதியும் மத்தமும் மேல் ஊரும் செஞ்சடையான்
Civaṉ who has a red catai on which are spread a cobra as big as the mountain which crawls, on one side, cool crescent and datura flowers.
வெண்ணூல் சேர் மார்பினான்
who wears on his chest a white sacred thread.
நாலூர் மயானத்து நம்பான் தன் அடி நினைந்து மால் ஊரும் சிந்தையர் பால் வந்து ஊரா மறுபிறப்பே
rebirth will not come at close quarters with those in whose minds love is increasing, thinking of the feet of Civaṉ who is in nālūr mayāṉam.

{$} சூடும் (1) பிறைச் சென்னிச் சூழ்காடு இடமாக ஆடும், (2) பறை சங்கு ஒலியோடு அழகாக
Civaṉ who wears a crescent on his head will dance beautifully in the cremation ground surrounded on all sides by (putams), according to the sound created by drum and conch.
நாடும் சிறப்பு ஓவா நாலூர் மயானத்தைப் பாடும் சிறப்போர் பால் பற்றா (ஆம்) பாவமே
sins will not hold in their grip eminent people who praise nālūr mayāṉam where annual festivals which are desired earnestly never cease;

{$} கல்லால் நிழல் மேவிக் காமுறு சீர் நால்வர்க்கு அன்று எல்லா அறன் உறையும் இன்னருளால் சொல்லினான் நல்லார் தொழுது ஏத்தும் நாலூர் மயானத்தை
about nālūr mayāṉam which good people worship with joined hands and praise and which is the abode of Civaṉ who gave completely all the moral instructions on that distant day to four sages of desirable fame, sitting under the shade of Kallāl tree, by his great grace.
சொல்லாதவர் எல்லாம் செல்லாதார் தொல் நெறிக்கே
all those who do not speak about that shrine are those who do not tread the ancient religion of caivam.

{$} கோலத்து ஆர் கொன்றையான்
Civaṉ who wears beautiful koṉṟai flowers.
கொல்புலித் தோல் ஆடையான்
who dresses himself with the skin of a tiger capable of killing.

நீலத்து ஆர் கண்டத்தான்
has a neck of blue colour.
நெற்றி ஓர் கண்ணினான்
has an eye on the forehead.
ஞாலத்தார் சென்று ஏத்தும் நாலூர் மயானத்தில் சூலத்தான் என் பார் பால் சூழா (ஆம்) தொல்வினையே
the accumulated old Karmams will not surround those who praise Civaṉ as the god with a trident, in nālūr mayāṉam to which people of this world go on a pilgrimage and praise it.

{$} கறை ஆர் மணி மிடற்றான்
Civaṉ has a neck resembling the sapphire on account of the poison stationed there.
காபாலி
has a skull
கட்டங்கன்
holds a battle-axe.
பிறை ஆர் வளர் சடையான்
has a growing caṭai in which there is a crescent.
நண்பு ஆய பெண் பாகன்
has as a half a lady very friendly to him.
நறை ஆர் பொழில் புடை சூழ் நாலூர் மயானத்து எம் இறையான் என்று ஏத்துவார்க்கு இன்பம் எய்தும் (ஆம்)
happiness will reach those who praise Civaṉ as our master in nālūr mayāṉam which is surrounded on all sides by gardens which have abundant honey.

{$} கண் ஆர் நுதலான்
Civaṉ has a frontal eye.
ஆடு இடம் கனல் ஆகப் பண் ஆர் மறைபாடி ஆடும் பரஞ்சோதி
the supreme being, as the light divine who dances singing vētams which are full of music, having fire as the dancing stage
நண்னார் புரம் எய்தான் நாலூர் மயானத்தை நண்ணாதவர் எல்லாம் நன்னெறி நண்ணாதார்
all those who do not approach nālūr mayāṉam of Civaṉ who shot an arrow on the cities of enemies, do not approach the path of virtue.

{$} கண்பாவு வேகத்தால் காமனை முன் காய்ந்து உகந்தான்
Civaṉ became great by destroying Kamaṉ long ago by the speed of the fire which spread from his frontal eye.
பெண் பாவு பாகத்தான்
has a half in which a lady has spread herself.
(1) நண் பாவு குணத்தோர்கள் நாலூர் மயானத்தை எண் பாவு சிந்தையார்க்கு ஏலா, இடர் (தான், ஏ)
sufferings will not happen to those who meditate upon nālūr mayāṉam where people who are friendly towards all, live.

{$} பத்துத் தலை யோனைப் பாதத்து ஒரு விரலால் வைத்து
pressing firmly with a single toe, the arakkaṉ who had ten heads.
மலை அடர்த்து
crushing him under the mountain.
வாளோடு நாள் கொடுத்தான்
Civaṉ granted him long life in addition to a sword.
நத்தின் ஒலி ஓவா நாலூர் மயானத்து என் அத்தன் அடி நினைவார்க்கு அல்லல் அடையாவே
sufferings will not come near those who fix their thoughts on the feet of my father in nālūr mayāṉam where the sound of conch never ceases during times of worship.

{$} மாலோடு நான்முகனும் நேடவளர் எரியாய் மேலோடு கீழ் காணா மேன்மையான்
Civaṉ has the eminence of not being able to be seen by Māl and Piramaṉ who has four faces, as he assumed the form of a growing fire, though they searched for its top and bottom in the sky and the underworld.
வேதங்கள் நாலோடும் ஆறு அங்கம் நாலூர் மயானத்து எம் பாலோடு நெய் ஆடி பாதம் பணிவோமே
we shall pay homage to the feet of our Civaṉ who bathes in ghee along with milk and who dwells in nālūr mayāṉam and who is himself the four vētam-s and the six aṅkam-s.

{$} துன்பு ஆய மாசார், துவர் ஆய போர்வையார் புன் பேச்சுக் கேளாதே
without listening to the mean words of the amaṇar who are full of dirt which issues a very offensive smell and buddhists who cover their bodies with a cloth soaked in myrtle-dye.
புண்ணியனை நண்ணுமின்கள்
devotees! approach Civaṉ who is the embodiment of all virtues.
(1) நண்பால் சிவாய எனா
uttering the mantiram of civāya having restrained the senses.
நாலூர் மயானத்தே இன்பாய் இருந்தானை எத்துவார்க்கு இன்பமே
those who praise Civaṉ who dwelt with pleasure in nālūr mayāṉam will enjoy happiness only.

{$} நாலு மறை ஓதும் நாலூர் மயானத்தை
on nālūr mayāṉam where the four vētam-s are chanted.
ஞாலம் புகழ் காழி ஞானசம்பந்தன் (தான்)
ñāṉacampantaṉ who is native of Kāḻi which is praised by the people of the world.
சீலம் புகழால் சிறந்து ஏத்தவல்லாருக்கு ஏலும் புகழ்
fame will be appropriate to those who can praise, by being eminent by fame, the attributes of Civaṉ.
வானத்து இன்பாய் இருப்பாரே
after death they will dwell in heaven happily.
