{$} கோடுமலிஞாழல், குரவு, ஏறு சுரபுன்னை நாடுமலிவாசம் (அது)வீசிய நள்ளாறு
naḷḷāṟu which blows along with the breeze the fragrance of fetid cassia which has many branches, bottle-flower and abundant long-leaved two-sepelled gamboge (nākaliṅkam) which grow in plenty in the country.
ஏடுமலிகொன்றை, அரவு, இந்து, இளவன்னி மாடவல்ல செஞ்சடை எம்மைந்தன் இடம் என்பர்
people say that it is the place of our strong god who tucked in his red caṭai, tender leaves of indian mesquit, a crescent, a cobra a koṉṟai of many petals.

{$} புவிதன்மேல் பண்ணிய நடத்தொடு இசைபாடும் அடியார்கள் நண்ணிய மனத்தின் வழிபாடுசெய் நள்ளாறு
naḷḷāṟu where the devotees whose minds cherish with love worship, singing and performing dances, in this earth.
விண்இயல் பிறைப்பிளவு அறைப்புனல் முடித்த புண்ணியன் இருக்கும் இடம் என்பர்
people say is the place of Civaṉ who has borne on his head a crescent that moves in the sky, and water that makes a sound.

{$} வளம் கெழுவு தீபமொடு தூபம் மலர்தூவி நளன் கெழுவிநாளும் வழிபாடுசெய் நள்ளாறு
naḷḷāṟu when the king, naḷaṉ, performed worship daily with great attachment scattering flowers, with bright lamps and incense.
விளங்குஇழைமடந்தை மலைமங்கையொடு பாகத்து உளங்கொள இருத்திய ஒருத்தன்இடம் என்பர்
people say that it is the place of the peerless Civaṉ who caused the daughter of the mountain, a lady wearing shining ornaments to stay as a half as he desired it. (Legends about the shrines were current even before the time of campantar there is a tank to the north west of the temple in this shrine. naḷaṉ was freed from the afflictions of saturn by worshipping Civaṉ in this shrine).

{$} தடம் மூழ்கிப்புக்கு அரவர், விஞ்சையரும் விண்ணவரும் நண்ணி நக்கர் (அவர்) நாமம் நினைவு எய்திய நள்ளாறு
naḷḷāṟu where the residents of the serpent world, viñcayar, and tēvar take a dip in the tank (naḷatīrttam) and enter into the temple fixing their minds on the names of the naked god.
கொக்கு அரவர் கூன்மதியர், கோபர் திருமேனிச் செக்கரவர் சேரும் இடம் என்பர்
people say that it is the place where Civaṉ who wears crane's feather, a cobra, a cobra, a curved crescent, who is angry, and has a body as red as the evening sky, dwells.

{$} நெஞ்சம்
my mind!
நினைந்தார் வஞ்சம்(அது) அறுத்தருளும் (மற்று) அவனை உனக்கெனஇது கண்டுகொள்
you know, for your benefit, him who completely destroys the deceipt of those who meditate upon him.
வானோர் அஞ்ச முதுகு ஆகியவர்கைதொழ எழுந்த நஞ்சு அமுதுசெய்தவன் இருப்பிடம் நள்ளாறு
naḷḷāṟu is the abode of Civaṉ who transformed poison into nectar by consuming it, which rose in the ocean of milk when the celestials who fled showing their backs at the sight of the poison, worshipped him with joined hands.

{$} கோலம் மலர் நீர்க்குடம் எடுத்து மறையாளர் நாலின்வழி நின்று தொழில்பேணிய நள்ளாறு
naḷḷāṟu where brahmins who have learnt the vētams, do service with love as ordained in the four vētams, carrying beautiful flowers and water-pots.
பாலன் அடிபேண அவன் ஆருயிர் குறைக்கும் காலன்உடல் மாளமுன் உதைத்த அரன் ஊர் ஆம்
is the place of araṉ who kicked the kālaṉ to die (immediately), when he came to cut short the precious life of the boy (mārkkaṇtēyaṉ) as he adored the feet of Civaṉ

{$} வேதியர்கள் வேள்வி ஒழியாது மறைநாளும் ஓதி, அரன்நாமம் உணர்ந்திடும் நள்ளாறு
naḷḷāṟu where the brahmins who perform sacrifices without ceasing, chant the vētams daily and contemplete on the names of araṉ

has as a half of his body the daughter of the mountain as beautiful as a portrait.

{$} அளிபாட நடத்த கலவைத்திரள்கள் வைகிய நள்ளாறே
naḷḷāṟu where many balls of perfumed mixtures which are used in dance lie for the bees to hum.
(1) கடுத்து வல்அரக்கன் முன்நெருக்கிவரை தன்னை எடுத்தவன் முடித்தலைகள் பத்தும் மிகுதோளும் அடர்த்தவர் தமக்கு இடம் (அது) என்பர்
people say that it is the place of Civaṉ who pressed down the strong shoulders and ten heads wearing crowns, of the strong arakkaṉ who lifted the mountain, pressing it hard with anger, in the past.

{$} வியந்து அமரர்மெச்ச மலர் மல்கு பொழில் எங்கும் நயம் தரும் அ(வ்)வேத ஒலிஆர்திருநள்ளாறு
tirunaḷḷāṟu where the sound of that vētam which gives benefits is resounding everywhere in the gardens with abundant flowers, which are appreciated with wonder by the immortals.
உயர்ந்தவன் உருக்கொடு திரிந்து
by Māl who grew tall assuming the form of a pig and wandering everywhere.
உலகம் எல்லாம் பயந்தவன் நினைப்பஅரிய பண்பன்இடம் என்பர்
people say that it is the place of Civaṉ who has the nature difficult fot even thinking, and by Piramaṉ who created all the worlds.

{$} மந்தம் முழவம் தருவிழா ஒலியும் வேதச்சந்தம் விரவிப் பொழில் முழங்கிய நள்ளாறு
naḷḷāṟu where in the bustle of the festivals when the muḻavam is played in a low tone and the sound of chanting of the vētams resound.
திருகல்சிந்தைச் சமணர் தேரர் தவம் என்னும் பந்தனை அறுத்தருளுகின்ற பரமன் (ன்) ஊர்
is the place of the supreme god who cuts the bondage, so called penance, of the tēvar and camaṇar of crooked minds.

{$} ஆடல் அரவு ஆர்சடையன் ஆயிழை தன்னோடும் நாடு மலிவு எய்திட இருந்த நள்ளாற்றை
on naḷḷāṟu where Civaṉ on whose caṭai there is a dancing cobra, dwells with a lady of choice ornaments to make the country attain fullness in every thing.
மாடம் மலி காழிவளர் பந்தனது செஞ்சொல் பாடல் உடையாரை அடையா பழிகள் நோயே
reproaches and diseases will not reach those who retain in their minds songs composed with words in their direct primary significance by pantaṉ who flourishes in Kāḻi where there are many storeyed buildings.
