சுற்றமொடு பற்று அவை துயக்கு அற அறுத்து
Having cut completely the ties towards relations and attachments towards others.
குற்றம் இல் குணங்களொடு கூடும் அடியார்கள் (மற்று) அவரை
the devotees who are united with good qualities and have no faults.
வானவர்தம் வானுலகம் (1) ஏற்றக்கற்றவன் இருப்பது
is the place of the god who has learnt naturally to lift them to occupy the celestial world of the Tēvar.

God has a beauty which is due to the cobras capable of killing.
விண்டு அணைசெய் மும்மதிலும் வீழ்தர ஓர் அம்பால் கண்டவன் இருப்பது
the residence of Civaṉ who made all the three forts which were opposition to fall down (burnt).

the vētiyar (brahmin) chanting Vētam and performing good acts beginning with sacrifices.
போதினொடு போது மலர் கொண்டு புனைகின்ற நாதனென
to praise him as the master who is adorned with blossomed flowers and buds about to blossom, at the proper times.
நள்ளிருள் முன் ஆடு குழைதாழும் காதவன் இருப்பது
the place of the god who has in his ear an ear-ring which hangs low as he dances at midnight.

Civaṉ who has as a half, the beautiful daughter of the King of mountains.
உடம்பினை விடக்கருதி நின்ற மறையோனைத் தொடர்ந்து அணவு காலன் உயிர் காலால் கடந்தவன் இருப்பது
the place where Civaṉ who kicked with his leg to destroy the life of Kālaṉ (god of death) who approached the brahmin (Mārkantēyaṉ), following him who was thinking of leaving this body.

He is the dancer who has as half Umai who is unequalled (in beauty)
நீதி அவன்
he is the right moral conduct

நெறியாய விருத்தன் அவன்
he is the elder one who is the right path.
வேதம் என அங்கம் அவை ஓதும் கருத்தவன் இருப்பது
the place where the god who chants the Vētam-s and six Aṅkam-s and who is in the minds of all.

எரிகாலும் கண்ணவன் இருப்பது கருப்பறியலூர்
Karuppaṟiyalūr is the place of Civaṉ from whose eyes fire flowed.
வெற்பு அரசு பெற்ற மகள், மெய்த்தேன், பண் அமரும் மென் மொழியினாளை அணைவிப்பான் எண்ணிவருகாமன் உடல் வேவ
to burn the body of Kāmaṉ (Cupid) who came with the idea of making the daughter of the King of the mountain, the lady who spoke soft and sweet words like melodies and pure honey unite (with Civaṉ)

{$} ஆதி அடியைப்பணிய அப்பொடுமலர்ச்சேர் சோதிஒளி நற்புகை வளர்க்குவடுபுக்கு
when Mārkaṇteyaṉ entered into the tall artificial hillock to worship the feet of Civaṉ, the origin of all things, with water, flowers, bright lamp, and fragrant incense.
தீது செய வந்து அணையும் அந்தகன் அரங்கக்காதினன் இருப்பது
the residence of god who killed Antakaṉ who approached (Mārkanṭēyaṉ) to take away his life, to be destroyed.

Tēvar who possess fitting fame.
மண்ணவரும் அஞ்ச
and the people of this world to fear.
பாய்ந்து அமர் செயும் தொழில் இலங்கை நகர் வேந்தற்கு ஏய்ந்த புயம் அத்தனையும் இற்றுவிழ
to make all the shoulders of the King of the city of Ilankai, who had the act of fighting by pouncing upon enemies, to fall down broken,
மேனாள் காய்ந்தவன் இருப்பது கருப்பறியலூர்
the place of the god who was angry with Irāvaṇaṉ is Karuppaṟuyalūr.

{$} பரந்தது (1) நிரந்து வருபாய் திரைய கங்கை கரந்து ஓர் சடைமேல்மிசை உகந்து அவளை வைத்து
Civaṉ placed with joy the goddess of Kaṅkai which descended with leaping waves and spreading and coming in a row, by concealing it on the top of a single caṭai.
நிரந்தரம் நிரந்து இருவர் நேடி அறியாமல் கரந்தவன் இருப்பது கருப்பறியலூரே
Karuppaṟiyalūr is the place where Civaṉ who kept himself out of sight always, when though two persons Māl and Piramaṉ searched for him and was not found out by them.

{$} கலந்தவர் கருப்பறியல் மேய கடவு(ள்)ளை நலம் தருபுனல் புகலி ஞானசம்பந்தன் பலம் தரு தமிழ்க்கிளவி (1) பத்தும் இவை கற்று
Learning all these ten Tamiḻ songs which will be productive of good and which were composed by Ñāṉacampantaṉ in Pukali which has abundant water, and confers good on people, on the god who resides in Karuppaṟiyalūr where devotees gather together.
வலம் தரும் அவர்க்குவினை வாடல் எளிதாம்
it is easy for those people who circumambulate the temple, to put an end to their birth.
