{$} தொண்டு எலாம் மலர் தூவி நஞ்சு (1) உண்டலார்: Civaṉ consumed the poison to be praised by all the devotees by scattering flowers.
(2) உயிர் ஆய தன்மையர்: is the life to all beings
கண்டனார்: is the warrior; [[கண்டு அனார்: is as sweet as the rock-candy is another meaning.]]
கருவூருள் ஆனிலை அண்டனார் அருள் (3) ஈயும் அன்பர் (ஏ): the god at the temple āṉilai in Karuvūr has love to grant his grace; [[Karuvūr is the name of the place; āṉilai is the name of the temple.]]; [[Variant reading:(1) உண்ட (2) ஆருயிராய (3) செய்யும்]]

{$} நீதியார் நினைந்து ஆய நான் மறை ஓதியாரொடும் கூடலார்: Civaṉ will join those who chant the four Vētam-s with intention to investigate them.
குழைக்காதினார்: wears a men's ear-ring in the ear
கருவூர் ஆனிலை ஆதியார்: the first cause of all things at āṉilai in Karuvūr.
அடியார்தம் அன்பர் (ஏ): is the lovable person to his devotees.; [[Variant reading: (1) கூடிலார்]]

{$} மும்மத யானை ஈர்உரி முடியர்: Civaṉ has covered himself with a skin of an elephant having three musts wet with blood.; [[முடியர் - மூடியர்; the long letter is short and for rhyme.]]
பொடியர்: smears sacred ash
பூங்கணை வேளைச் செற்றவர்: destroyed the Cupid who has arrows of flowers.
கடியுளார்: has got wonders; [[கடி eminence.]]
கருவூருள் ஆனிலை அடிகள்: the god at āṉilai in Karuvūr
யாவையும் ஆய ஈசர் (ஏ): is the Lord of the universe who is himself all things.

{$} பங்கயம் மலர்ப் பாதர்: Civaṉ has feet as lotus-red feet
பாதி ஒர் மங்கையர்: has as a half a lady
மணி நீல கண்டர்: has a beautiful blue neck
வான் கங்கையர்: bore on his head the Kaṅkai which was in heaven.
கருவூருள் ஆனிலை (1) அம்கை ஆடு அரவத்து எம் அண்ணல் (ஏ): is our god who wears on his beautiful hands a dancing cobra and who is at āṉilai in Karuvūr.; [[Variant reading: (1) அங்கையோடரவத்தெம்]]

{$} தேவர்: Civaṉ is the object of worship
திங்களும் பாம்பும் சென்னியில் மேவர்: has united the crescent and the cobra on his head.
மும்மதில் எய்த (1) வில்லியர்: is the archer who shot an arrow on the three forts.
(2) காவலர்: is the god who protects all
கருவூருள் ஆனிலை மூவர் ஆகிய மொய்ம்பர் அல்லர் (ஏ): is he who is at āṉilai in Karuvūr, not the trinity, Piraman, Māl and Uruttiraṉ which are his energy?; [[variant readings : (1) வேட்கையர் (2) காவலார்]]

{$} பண்ணினார்: Civaṉ is in the form of melody-types
படி ஏற்றர்: has a bull which obeys his commands.
நீற்றர்: smears himself with sacred ash
மெய்ப் பெண்ணர்: has on his form of lady
பிறை தாங்கு நெற்றியர்: has on his forehead a crescent;; [[PP_EXT: பிறை நுதல் வண்ணம் ஆகின்று
(Puṟam 1-9).]]
கண்ணினார்: is the real inward eye to the world; [[he is the eye which is spiritual knowledge is another meaning]]
கருவூருள் ஆனிலை நண்ணினார் நமை ஆளும் நாதர் (ஏ): the master who admits us as his protege is attached to āṉilai in Karuvūr.

{$} கடுத்த வாள் அரக்கன் கயிலையை எடுத்தவன் தலை தோளும் தாளினால் அடர்த்தவன்: Civaṉ pressed down firmly with his leg the heads and shoulders of the angry and cruel arakkaṉ who lifted the mountain, Kayilai.
கருவூருள் ஆனிலை கொடுத்தவன் அருள் கூத்தன் அல்லனே: he who is at āṉilai in Karuvūr granted his grace later; is he not a dancer?

{$} ஏனம் ஆகி மாநிலத்து உழுது மால், மா மலரோனும் தொழுது காண்கிலார்: Māl transforming himself into a pig and digging the big earth and Piramaṉ who is in a big flower had not the ability to see Civaṉ though they worshipped him with joined hands.
கழுதினான்: has pēy as his army.
கருவூருள் ஆனிலை முழுதும் ஆகிய மூர்த்தி பாதம் (ஏ): the feet of the god who has a visible form and who is all things and who is at āṉilai in Karuvūr.; [[மூர்த்தி பாதம் காண்கிலார் is a syntactical link.]]

புத்தர் புன் சமண் ஆதர் பொய்யுரைப் பித்தர் பேசிய பேச்சை விட்டு: leaving as having no substance the speeches of buddhists and low and ignorant camaṇar who speak only lies and are mad people.
மெய்ப்பத்தர் சேரும் கருவூருள் ஆனிலை அத்தர் பாதம் அடைந்து வாழ்மின் (ஏ): live happily approaching the feet of the father at āṉilai in Karuvūr where sincere devotees gather together.

{$} கந்தம் ஆர் பொழில் காழி ஞானசம்பந்தன் சேர் கருவூருள் ஆனிலை எந்தையைச் சொன்ன பத்தும் வலல்வர்: those who are capable of reciting the ten verses on our father at āṉilai in Karuvūr which Ñāṉacampantaṉ of Kāḻi which has gardens full of fragrance, always meditates upon,
சிந்தையில் துயர் தீரவார் (ஏ): will be free from all mental worries.; [[ஞானசம், பந்தன்: வகையுளி; this word has been scanned in utter disregard of speech rhythm]]
