- எனும்
- invokes always the names such as,
- மழை ஆர் மிடறா
- Civaṉ who has a black neck like a sable cloud!.
- மழுவாள் உடையாய்
- who has a battle-axe!
- உழை ஆர்கரவா
- who holds in his hand a deer!
- உமையாள் கணவா
- who is the husband of Umayāḷ!
- விழவு ஆரும் வெண்நாவலின் மேவிய எம் அழகா
- and who is our beautiful person who dwells
under the white jaumoon plum tree where festivals are celebrated always.

- unvokes always the name such as,
- கொலை ஆர்கரியின் உரிமூடியனே
- Civaṉ who covered his body with the skin
of an elephant which is capable of killing!
- மலை ஆர் சிலையா விளைவித்தவனே
- who bent the mountain as a rare bow!
- விலையால் எனை ஆளும் வெணாமல் உளாய்
- in who is under the white jaumoon plum
tree, and who admits me as his protege by purchasing me as his serf
- நிலையா அருளாய்
- grant me your grace to stay with me always.

- invokes the names such as,
- காலால் உயிர் காலனை வீடுசெய்தாய்
- you who destroyed the life of Kālaṉ by
kicking him with your foot!
- பாலோடு நெய் ஆடிய பால்வணனே
- who are as white as milk and bathed in
milk and ghee!
- வேல் ஆடுகையாய்
- who has in your hand a trident!
- எம்வெண்நாவலுளாய்
- our god under the white jaumoon plum tree!
- ஆல் ஆர்நிழலாய்
- one who is seated under the shade of the
banyan tree!

என் ஆயிழை
- my daughter who is wearing choice ornaments.
- சுறவக்கொடிகொண்டவன் நீறு (அது) ஆய் உறநெற்றி விழித்த எம்உத்தமனே
- our Civaṉ who is possessed of all moral
attributes and who opened his frontal eye to reduce to ashes one who
holds a banner of a shark drawn on it!
- விறல் மிக்ககரிக்கு அருள்செய்தவனே
- who granted his grace to the elephant of
excessive strength!
- அறம் மிக்கது எனும்
- says that righteousness is superior to
everything else.
- [[There is no name of வெண்ணாவல்
in this verse; but there is a reference
to Civaṉ granting his grace to an elephant which worshipped him
in this shrine; hence āṉaikka, the name of the shrine]]

- Civaṉ who granted his grace in a
large measure which is revealed by the eyes on the chief
of cempiyar (coḻar) ceṅkatcōḻaṉ!
- வெங்கண்விடையாய்
- who has a bull of cruel looks!
- வெண்வலுளாய்
- who is under the white jaumoon plum tree.
- அங்கத்து அயர்வு ஆயினள்
- languished in her mind

whose mature is killing!

- won a victory over all the three cities!
- வெணாவலுளேநின்றாய்

invoking names such as
- மலை அன்று எடுத்த(வ்) அரக்கன் முடிதோள்
தொலைய(வ்) விரல் ஊன்றிய தூமழுவா
- Civaṉ who has a pure battle-axe,
and who fixed firmly a toe to destroy the strength of the heads
and shoulders of the arakkaṉ who lifted the mountain (Kayilai)
in the distant past!
- விலையால் எனை ஆளும் வெண்நாவலுளாய்
- who is under the white jaumoon plum
tree and who admitted me as your protege by purchasing me as your serf!
- அலசாமல் நல்காய் எனும்
- says Please grant me your grace without
making me to undergo suffering!

- Civaṉ who rose erect as a pillar of fire
near which nāraṇaṉ who has tiru as his wife, and nāṉmukaṉ could not
come and who were afraid of it!
- விரை ஆரும் வெணாவலுள் மேவிய எம் அரவா எனும்
- says our Lord who wears cobras and who
resides with joy under the white jaumoon plum tree which has
excessive fragrance!

புத்தர் பலரோடு அமண் பொய்த்தவர்கள் ஒத்த(வ்) உரை
சொல் இவை ஓரகிலார்
- without investigating the teachings of
many sects of buddhists and amaṇar who have no sincere penance
to their credit, which are in agreement with each other,
- மெய்த்தேவர் வணங்கும் வெணாவலுளாய்! அத்தா அருளாய் எனும்
- says, Civaṉ who is under the white
jaumoon plum tree, worshipped by the real tēvar! my master!
grant me your grace!
