Vēṇupuram which floated above the sea during deluge where the bright pearls leave the sea and reach the fields where the women-folk of the farmers wander.
நிலவும் புனலும் நிறைவாள் அரவும் இலகும் சடையார்க்கு இடம் ஆம்
is the place for the god who has matted locks of hair on which the crescent moon, water and the extremely cruel cobra glitter

{$} கரவாத கொடைக்கு அலந்தாரவர்க்கு விரவாக வல்லார் வேணுபுரம்
vēṇupuram where there are people who become sympathetic towards supplicants who suffered much in their minds for donation which comes without concealing.
அரவு ஆர் கரவன் அமை ஆர் திரள் தோள் குரவு ஆர் குழலாள் ஒரு கூறன் இடம்
is the place of the Lord who has as his half a lady with tresses of hair adorned with flowers of kuravu (bottle-flower), globular shoulders like the middle portion of the bamboo, and who has a cobra in his hand

Vēṇupuram where there are gardens on which clouds traverse and which is surrounded by fertile [fields] which give abundant yield in every season

ஆகம் அழகாயவள் தான் வெருவ நாகம் உரி போர்த்தவன் நண்ணும் இடம்
is the place where the Lord, who covered himself with the skin of an elephant to frighten the lady with a beautiful form, resides.

{$} இன் நறவ வாசக் கமலத்து அனம் வன் திரைகள் வீசத்துயிலும் வேணுபுரம்
Vēṇupuram where the swans sitting on the fragrant lotus of sweet honey, sleep when the strong waves gently blow like fan.
காசு அக்கடலில் விடம் உண்ட கண்டத்து ஈசர்ககு இடம் ஆம்
is the place of the Lord of the universe who has a neck where he kept the poison that he drank and which rose in that ocean of milk which has pearls and other precious stones.

அரை ஆர் கலை சேர் அ(ன்)னம் மெல் நடையை உரையா உகந்தான் உறையும் இடம் ஆம்
is the place of the Lord who praised and rejoiced in having a lady with the gentle gait of a swan and wearing on the waist a girdle (mēkalai), resides
[[ALTERNATE INTERPRETATION:கலை saree; [otherwise], if it means மேகலை, it is முதற்குறை (the first letter dropped).
[[உடை விரை: as the spathe unfolds itself, the fragrance spreads in the garden; in the meaning, உடை should be taken as a verb.]]

ஒளிரும் பிறையும் உறு கூவிள இன் தளிரும் சடைமேல் உடையான் இடமாம்
is the place of the Lord who has on his matted locks of hair shining crescent moon and abundant leaves of vilam.

{$} தாவும் மறிமானொடு தண் மதியம் மேவும் பொழில் சூழ் வேணுபுரம்
vēṇupuram surrounded by gardens in which the cool moon and the jumping young ones of deer are found.

ஏவும் படை வேந்தன் இராவணனை ஆ என்று அலற அடர்த்தான் இடம் ஆம்
is the place of the Lord who pressed down the king, Irāvaṇaṉ, who had an army under his command, to cry aloud `ā'

vēṇupuram where flags hoisted on mansions of different colours of plaster, glitter in the air.
கண்ணன் கடிமா மலரில் திகழும் அண்ணல் இருவர் அறியா இறை ஊர்
is the place of the Lord who could not be known by both kaṇṇaṉ (tirumāl) and the god who is eminent in the big and fragrant (lotus) flower.
[[As Kaṇṇaṉ is the incarnation of Tirumal, he is spoken of as Kaṇṇaṉ.]]

vēṇupuram where there are scholars who know the abode of Civaṉ which is above that of the tēvar, by their knowledge of arts and works on the three divisions of Tamiḻ, and who know the value of silence

jains who do not know worldly pleasures
துவர் போர்த்து உழல்வார்
Buddhists who wander about covering their bodies with yellow robes.
ஆகம் அறியா அடியார் இறை ஊர்
is the place of the Lord where devotees live who do not even look at those who indulge in abusing Civaṉ.

{$} நலம் ஆர்தரு ஞானசம்பந்தன்
By Ñāṉacampantaṉ who is full of good qualities.
கலம் ஆர் கடல் போல் வளம் ஆர்தரு நற்புலம் ஆர் தரு வேணுபுரத்திறையைச் சொன்ன
composed on the Lord of Vēṇupuram where there are good paddy-fields which are full of produces like the sea on which ships sail from place to place.
குலம் ஆர் தமிழ் கூறுவர் கூர்மையர்
those who recite the eminent Tamiḻ verses, will receive grace in a very large measure.
