{$} சடையானைச் சந்திரனோடு செங்கண் அரா உடையானை
Civaṉ who has on his caṭai the crescent and the cobra with red eyes.
உடை தலையில் பலிகொண்டு ஊரும் விடையானை
who rides on a bull obtaining alms in a broken skull.
விண்ணவர் தாம் தொழும் வெண்ணியை உடையானை அல்லது
except worshipping Civaṉ who has as his abode veṇṇi where the celestials worship him with joined hands.
உள்காது என் உள்ள...ம் (ஏ)
my mind will not think of any other god,

{$} சோதியை
Civaṉ who is the divine light.
சுண்ணவெண்ணீறு அணிந்திட்ட எம் ஆதியை
who is our supreme being who is the cause of all things, and who adorns himself with the fine powder of white sacred ash.
ஆதியும் அந்தமும் இல்லாத வேதியை
who is omniscient; who has no birth and death.
வேதியர் தாம் தொழும் வெண்ணியில் நீதியை நினையவல்லார் வினை நில்லா (ஏ)
the acts, good and bad, of those who are capable of meditating upon the truth in veṇṇi who is worshipped by the brahmins, will cease to bear fruit.

{$} கனிதனை
Civaṉ who is like the ripe fruit.
கனிந்தவரைக் கலந்து ஆட்கொள்ளும் முனிதனை
the sage who admits into his grace, growing intimate with those whose hearts become tender by devotion.
மூஉலகுக்கு ஒரு மூர்/த்தியை
who has a form common to the three worlds.
நனிதனை
who has abundance of grace

நல்லவர்தாம் தொழும் வெண்ணியில் இனிதனை ஏத்துவர் ஏதம் இலாதார் (ஏ)
people who have no faults will praise Civaṉ who is the embodiment of sweetness and who is worshipped in veṇṇi by good people.

{$} மூத்தானை
Civaṉ who is older than all things known to be old.
மூவுலகுக்கு ஒருமூர்த்தியாய்க் காத்தானை
who protected all things having visible form common to all the three worlds.
கனிந்தவரைக் கலந்து ஆளாக ஆர்த்தானை
who bound as his protege, growing intimate with those who are tender at heart by devotion.
அழகு அமர் வெண்ணி அம்மான் தன்னை
that great person who is in beautiful veṇṇi.
ஏத்தாதார், (1) ஏழை அப்பேய்கள் (ஏ) என் செய்வார்
what will those who do not praise him and who are like pēy though they are born as human beings, and who are ignorant do?

{$} நீரானை
Civaṉ who has water on his head.
நிறை புனல் சூழ்தரு நீள்கொன்றைத் தாரானை
who wears a garland which surrounds the water which is copious.
தையல் ஓர் பாகம் உடையானை
who has a lady on one half.
சீரானை
who has fame.
திகழ்தரு வெண்ணி அமர்ந்து உறை ஊரானை உள்கவல்லார் வினை ஓயும் (ஏ)
the acts of those who are able to meditate upon Civaṉ who dwells in the eminent place veṇṇi desiring it, will come to an end.

{$} (1) முத்தினை
Civaṉ who is as precious as the pearl
முழுவயிரத்திரள் மாணிக்கத் தொத்தினை
who is the collection of diamonds of great size and a mass of rubis.
துளக்கம் இலாத விளக்கு ஆயவித்தினை
the seed from which all came into existence and who is the lamp that never flickers.
விண்ணவர் தாம் தொழும் வெண்ணியில் அத்தனை அடைய வல்லார்க்கு அல்லல் இல்லையே
there will be definitely no sufferings to those who can come near the father in veṇṇi, who is worshipped by the immortals.

{2:14}__7+
{$} காமனையும் காய்ந்தானை
Civaṉ who destroyed even Kāmaṉ who is victorious over other persons.
செறுகாலனைப் பாய்ந்தானை
who sprang upon Kālaṉ who kills all, and destroyed him.
பரியகைம்மா உரித்தோல் மெய்யில் மேய்ந்தானை
who covered fully his body with a skin which was flayed from an elephant having a big trunk.
விண்ணவர் தாம்தொழும் வெண்ணியில் நீந்தானை நினைய வல்லார் வினைநில்லா (ஏ)
the acts of those who can meditate upon Civaṉ, who renounced all desires and who is in veṇṇi which is worshipped by the importals, will not stay with them
[[நீந்தான்-நீத்தான்; மெலித்தல் விகாரம் softening, of a hard consonant into the corresponding soft or nasal consonant; நீத்து can be taken as நீத்தம் then the meaning will be flood of the Kaṅkai]]
{2:14}__8+
{$} மறுத்தானை மாமலையை மதியாது ஓடிச் செறுத்தானைத் தேசு அழியத் திகழ் தோள் முடி இறுத்தானை
Civaṉ who smashed the shining shoulders and heads of the arakkaṉ to lose their lustre who tried to uproot the great mountain running towards it out of anger to uproot it without paying heed to the advice of his ministers and nantītēvar.
எழில் அமர் வெண்ணி எம் மான் எனப் பொறுத்தானை
who forgave his foolish act when he praised our Lord in beautiful veṇṇi.
போற்றுவார் ஆற்றல் உடையார் (ஏ)
those who praise him will get the strength that comes from spiritual wisdom.

{$} மண்ணினை
Civan who is the earth which is one of his eight forms.
வானவரோடு மனிதர்க்கும் கண்ணினை
who is as precious as the eye to the immortals as well as to human beings.
கண்ணனும் நான் முகனும் காணா விண்ணினை
the cosmic space which could not be known by Kaṇṇaṉ and Piramaṉ of four faces;
[[கருங்கண்ணனை அறியாமை நின்றோன் (Kōvaiyār, 53); கரிய மாலை அவன் அறியாமல் தன்னை ஒளித்து நின்றவன் (Do. pērāciriyar); கண்ணன் என்பது கரியோனென்னும் பொருளதோர் பாகதச் சிதைவு; அஃது அப்பண்பு குறியாது ஈண்டுப்பெயராய் நின்றமையின், கருங்கண்ணனென்றார், சேற்றிற்பங்கயம் என்றாற்போல (Do special commentary).]]
விண்ணவர்தாம் தொழும் வெண்ணியில் அண்ணலை அடையவல்லார்க்கு அல்லல் இல்லையே
there will definitely, be no sufferings to those who draw near Civaṉ in veṇṇi where the immortals worship him.
{2:14}__10+
{$} குண்டரும் (1) குணம் இலாத சமண் சாக்கிய மிண்டர்கள் மிண்டு அவைகேட்டு (2) வெகுளேன் மின்
(Devotees!) Do not get angry by hearing the vulgar talk of the ignorant persons like the camaṇar and cākkiyar who are low.
விண்டவர் தம்புரம் எய்தவன் வெண்ணியில் தொண்டராய் ஏத்தவல்லார் துயர் தோன்றா (ஏ)
the sufferings of those who can praise Civaṉ in veṇṇi having become his slaves, who shot an arrow on the three cities of the enemies, will vanish.

{$} திரு ஆரும் திகழ்தருவெண்ணி அமர்ந்தானை
upon Civaṉ who dwelt in eminent veṇṇi where there is abundant wealth.
மரு ஆரும் மல்கு காழித் திகழ் ஞானசம்பந்தன் உரு ஆரும் ஒண் தமிழ்மாலை இவை வல்லார்
those who are able to recite this glittering garland of tamiḻ verses composed by ñāṉacampantaṉ, eminent in Kaḻi which is full of fragrance and which is flourshing day by day.
பொருவாகப் புக்கு இருப்பார் புவலோகத்து (ஏ)
will enter into puvalōkam and dwell there being equal to the original inhabitants of that world (puvalokam is one of the seven upper worlds above the earth).
