This decade of verses got its title of `viṉāvurai' as Campantar puts questions to god and eagerly awaits explanations in the form of replies.

{$} செந்நெல் அம்கழனிப்பழனத்து அயலே செழும், புன்னை வெண்கிழியில் பவளம் புரை பூந்தராய்-நல் (1) இமையோர் முடி துன்னித் தோய்கழலீர்
oh Lord with whose feet the crowns of the good tevar closely come into contact, in Pūntarāy, where by the sides of the tanks adjacent to the red paddy fields, the flowers of Puṉṉai (mast-wood tree) resemble coral lying on a white cloth!
(2) பின்னு செஞ்சடையில் பிறை பாம்புடன் வைத்தது சொலீர்
please tell me the reason for having placed the crescent with the cobra in the red and entwining caṭai.

oh God who has on your feet anklets made of gold which the tēvar worship surrounding you in pūntarāi where the conches and oysters which rose in the clear waves dashing against the shore, and enter into the tanks where lotus flowers shine like gold.

பெற்றம் ஏறுதல் பெற்றிமையோ? சொலீர்
is it greatness to ride on a bull? please tell me.

oh god who covered yourself with the skin of a great and rutting elephant and became great in pūntarāi where the clear rising waves toss hither and thither, bringing with them conches, cluster of red coral and pearls!
மங்கை பங்கமும் அங்கத் தொடு ஒன்றிய மாண்பு அது சொலீர்
please tell me the dignity of having united with your body as a member the half of a young lady.

{$} சேமவன்மதில் பொன் அணி மாளிகை சேண் உயர், பூமணம் கமழும் பொழில் சூழ்தரு பூந்தராய்ச், சோமனும் அரவும் தொடர் செஞ்சடையீர்
oh god who has red caṭai on which the crescent and cobra are joined, and who resides in pūntarāi surrounded by parks spreading the fragrance of flowers, where the mansions adorned with gold and have strong walls of enclosure as protection rise into the sky.
காமன் வெண்பொடியாகக் கடைக்கண் சிவந்தது சொலீர்
please tell me the reason for the outer corner of the eye to turn red to reduce Kāmaṉ to white ash.

{$} பள்ளம் மீன் இரை தேர்ந்து உழலும் பகுவாயன, புள்ளு நாள் தொறும் சேர் பொழில் சூழ்தரு பூந்தராய்த், துள்ளுமான் மறி ஏந்திய செங்கையினீர்
oh God who holds in your red hand a leaping young deer and who resides in puntarāi surrounded by parks where the birds with split beaks wander in search of their food, fish, in the hollow pits, stay daily!
வெள்ளநீர் ஒரு செஞ்சடை வைத்த வியப்பு (அதே) சொலீர்
please tell me the wonder of placing on a single red caṭai the water of the flood (of Kaṅkai) (water has the property of spreading everywhere and descending downwards; Lord Civaṉ controlled it and kept it on his caṭai, that is a wonder).

{$} மாது இலங்கிய மங்கையர் ஆட மருங்கு எலாம், போதில் அம் கமலம் மதுவார் புனல் பூந்தராய்ச், சோதி அம் சுடர் மேனி வெண்ணீறு அணிவீர்
oh Lord who adorned your effulgent and lustruous body with white sacred ash who reside in pūtarāi which has abundant water into which the lotus about to blossom, pours its honey on all sides where the young girls of brilliant beauty dance!
காதில் அம் குழை சங்க வெண் தோடுடன் வைத்தது சொலீர்
please tell me why you wore in your ears mens` ear-ring along with the women`s white ear-ring made of conch.

oh God who comes riding on a big bull which you drive, and who resides in Pūntarāy where female monkeys along with the groups of big male monkeys eat the fruits that are found in the trees in the gardens full of fruit-trees.
அரக்கன் ஆற்றல் அழித்து ஆக்கிய ஆக்கம் சொலீர்
please tell me the reason for destroying the prowess of the arakkaṉ and confering on him the gain of your grace.

please tell me the reason for black Māl and Ayaṉ for not knowing you even though they searched for you.

oh Lord who has very old feet which the devotees come and praise in Pūntarāy where the lotus buds which grow in water in which the scabbard fish leap in the small sluices of the fields which have slit!
குண்டர் சாக்கியர் கூறிய (தாம்) குறி இன்மையே சொலீர்
please tell me why that the base people of camaṇar and buddhists talked had no substance in them (had no religious doctrines) (what they talked missed the mark)
