{$} கலைமலி அகல் அல்குல் அரிவை தன் உருவினன்
Civaṉ has on his body a lady wearing on her broad waist a spreading garment.
முலை மலிதரு திருஉருவம் அது உடையவன்
and has a holy body in which the breast of Umai is prominent.
சிலைமலி மதில்பொதி சிவபுர நகர்தொழ, இலை நலிவினை
if one worships the city of civapuram which is concealed by a fortified wall built with granite stones there will be no Karmams that afflict him.
இருமையும் இடர் கெடும்
the sufferings in this birth and future births will be destroyed.

{$} படர் ஒளி சடையினன்; விடையினன்
Civaṉ has a caṭai whose brightness spreads; has a bull.
மதில் (அவை) சுடர் எரி கொளுவிய சிவன் (அவன்) உறைபதி
the abode of Civaṉ who set burning fire to the forts.
திடல் இடு புனல் வயல் சிவபுரம் அடைய
if we reach civapuram which has fields full of water which creates small islands.
நம்இடர்கெடும்
our sufferings will be destroyed.
உயர்கதிபெறுவது திடனே
it is definite that we will obtain higher state of existence.

{$} வரை திரிதர, அரவு அகடு அழல் எழ
the mountain which was used as churning staff revolved and the body of the serpent which was wound round it as a churning cord became heated.
வருநுரைதரு கடல்விடம் நுகர்பவன் எழில்திகழ், திரைபொரு புனல் அரிசில் (அது) அடை சிவபுரம், உரைதரும் அடியவர்
the devotees who speak about civapuram which is reached by the river, aricil of plenty of water whose beautiful waves erode the banks; which is the abode of Civaṉ who consumed the poison of the ocean which has rising foams.
உயர்கதியினரே
will definitely attain higher states of existence.

{$} (1) தணிவு உடையவர்பயில் சிவபுரம் மருவிய மணிமிடறனது அடிஇணை தொழுமவர்
those who worship the feet of Civaṉ who has a blue neck and who dwells in civapuram where devotees who have controlled passions are in large numbers.
துணிவு உடையவர்
have strength of mind.
சுடுபொடியினர்
smear their bodies with well-burnt holy ash.
உடல் அடுபிணி அடைவு இலர்
do not get diseases which afflict the bodies.
பிறவியும் அற விசிறுவர்
will cast away even future births.

Civaṉ who has us as his protege.
மறையவன்
revealed the vētams (is the brahmin among gods)
மதியவன்
is the pure intellect.
மலையவன்
lives in the mountain, Kayilai.
நிலையவன்
does not know destruction.
நிறையவன்
has nothing to wish for.
உமையவள் மகிழ்நடம் நவில்பவன்
practises dance which is enjoyed by Umayavaḷ.
இறையவன்
is the chief.
இமையவர் பணிகொடு
accepting the services of the immortals who do not wink.
சிவபுரம் உறைவு என உடையவன்
has civapuram as his abode.

{$} முதிர்சடை இளமதிநதிபுனல் பதிவுசெய்து
having firmly fixed in the caṭai of mature growth, a crescent and a river of plenty of water.
அதிர்கழல் ஒலிசெய அருநடம் (1) நவில்பவன்
practise rare dance ceaselessly to cause the resounding Kaḻal to make a sound.
எதிர்பவர் புரம் எய்த இணைஇலி அணைபதி
the city of the unequalled Civaṉ who discharged an arrow, on the cities of enemies.
சதிர்பெறும் உடையவர் சிவபுரமே
is civapuram where people of noble minds live.

{$} வடிவுடைமலைமகள் சலமகள் உடன் அமர், பொடிபடும் (1) உழை அதள் பொலிதிரு உருவினன்
Civaṉ has a holy body in which the deer's skin on which sacred ash falls, and where the daughter of the mountain, of beautiful form, and the lady in the form of water (Kaṅkai) dwell.
செடிபடுபலிதிரி சிவன் உறை சிவபுரம் அடைதரும் அடியவர் அருவினை இலர்
the devotees who reach civapuram where Civaṉ who wanders to receive alms of offensive odour will have no irresistible karmam-s.

{$} கரம் இருபதும் முடி ஒருபதும் உடையவன் உரம் நெரிதர வரை அடர்வு செய்தவன் உறைபரன் என
thinking that the supreme god who pervades everywhere and who pressed under the mountain to crush the chest of Irāvaṇaṉ who had twenty hands and ten heads.
அடியவர் பணி திரு சிவபுர நகர் (அது) புகுதல் நம் உயர்கதி (அதுவே)
entering into the city of civapuram to which the devotees pay obeisance is itself a higher stage of existence.

{$} அன்று இயல் உருவுகொள் அரிஅயன் எனும் அவர் சென்று அளவிடல் அரியவன் உறை சிரபுரம் என்று
thinking that civapuram is the place where Civaṉ who could not be searched by flying in the sky and digging into the earth by ari and Ayaṉ who assumed the form of a pig and a swan, out of anger.
இருபொழுதும் முன்வழிபடும் அவர் துயர் ஒன்று இலர்
those who worship day and night standing in the presence of Civaṉ will not have even the slightest suffering.
புகழொடும் இவ்வுலகு உடையர்
will attain fame along with this world.

{$} புத்தரொடு அமணர்கள் அறவுரை புறவுரை
the moral teachings of buddhists and amaṇar are outside the range of morality.
வித்தகம் ஒழிகில
and they do not leave off cunning.
விடைஉடை அடிகள்தம் இத்தவம் முயல்வுறில் இறைவன சிவபுரம் மெய்த்தக வழிபடல் விழுமியகுணமே
if one wants to perform this penance fixing thoughts of Civaṉ who has a bull, worshipping his civapuram sincerely, will do him excellent good.

{$} புந்தியர் மறை நவில் புகலிமன் ஞானசம்பந்தன தமிழ்கொடு
with the aid of Tamiḻ verses composed by Ñāṉacampantaṉ, chief of Pukali where people of noble minds recite the Vētam-s often.
சிவபுர நகர் உறை எந்தையை உரைசெய்த இசைமொழிபவர் வினைசிந்திமுன் உற உயர்கதி பெறுவர்கள்
those who recite with music, the verses praising our father who dwells in the city of Civapuram, will first of all destroy all Karmams and attain higher stage of existence.
