{$} அலர்மகள் மலிதர அவனியில் நிகழ்பவர்
those who live in this world on whom the goddess of wealth to shower her grace.
மலர்மலிகுழல் உமைதனை இடம் மகிழ்பவர்
Civaṉ who feels joy in having Umai, with tresses of hair on which flower are adorned profusely.
நலம் மலிஉரு உடையவர் நகர் மிகுபுகழ் நிலம்மலிமிழலையை நினையவலவரே
are those who fix their thoughts on miḻalai which has in this world eminent fame and the city of Civaṉ who has a beautiful form (நகர் மிழலையை நினையவலவர் அவனியில் நிகழ்பவர் is the syntactical link)

{$} இருநிலம் இதன்மிசை எழில்பெறும் உருவினன்
those who have a beautiful body in this wide world.
கருமலிதரு மிகுபுவிமுதல் உலகினில் இருள் அறு மதியினர் இமையவர் தொழுது எழு நிருபமன் மிழலையை நினையவலவரே
are those who can meditate on miḻalai which belongs to Civaṉ without equal, which is worshipped by the celestials and people of intelligence without ignorance, in the worlds beginning with this earth which is full of births.

{$} (1) கலைமகள் தலைமகன் இவன் என வருபவர்
those who tread upon the earth to be praised by people he is the husband of the goddess of knowledge (a person of great erudition)
அலைமலிதருபுனல் அரவொடு நகுதலை இலைமலி இதழியும் இசைதரு சடையினர் நிலைமலிமிழலையை நினையவலவரே
are those who can focus their thoughts on miḻalai of permanence belonging to Civaṉ who has on his caṭai water which is full of waves, a cobra, a laughing skull and koṉṟai with abundant leaves, combining together.

{$} காடு அமர் கழுதுகள் அவை முழவொடும் இசைபாடலின் நவில்பவர்
Civaṉ who practises dance when the pēys that live in the cremation ground sing, to be accompanied by playing on muḻavu.
மிகுதரும் உலகினில் நீடு அமர் மிழலையை நிலைய வலவரே
those who are able to think of his muḻalai which has been in existence since hoary past in this world which abounds in many beautiful things.
மாடு அமர் சனம் (1) மகிழ்தரும் மனம் உடையவர்
will live happily with their relations. (மாடு by the side of)

{$} புரிகுழல் உமைதனை இகழ்வு செய்தவனுடை(ய) எழில் மறைவழி வளர்முகம் அது சிதை தரமுனிவு செய்தவன்
Civaṉ who was enraged and cut off the head (of takkaṉ) which was the cause for the way of the vētam to flourish, who slighted Umai of curly tresses of hair.
மிகுநிகழ்தரு மிழலையை நினைய வலவரே
those who can think of miḻalai which is superior to other shrines.
புகழ்மகள் துணையினர்
will attain fame (fames is personified as a lady).

{$} அரிதினில் ஒன்றிய திரிபுரம் ஒருநொடியினில் எரிசென்று கொள்வகை சிறுமுறுவல் கொடு ஒளிபெற நின்றவன் மிழலையை நினைய வலவரே
those who can think of miḻalai belonging to Civaṉ who stood with brilliance with a smile for the five to engulf in an instant the three cities which united together rarely.
அன்றினர் அரிஎன வருபவர்
will be like lions to their enemies (who can be compared to elephants)

{$} கடிமலர் அயனது ஓர் சிரம்பயில்வு அறஎறி சிவன் உறை செழுநகர்
the fertile city where Civaṉ who cut off one head of Ayaṉ seated in a fragrant flower, from being united with his body.
வரம் பயில் கலைபல மறைமுறை (1) அறநெறி நிரம்பினர் மிழலையை நினையவலவரே
those who can think of miḻalai where there are people who are full of righteous conduct prescribed in the vētams, and knoweledge of superior arts.
கரம் பயில் கொடையினர்
will be people of boundless liberality.

{$} அரக்கன் நல்மணிமுடி ஒருபதும் இருபது கரக்கனம் நெரி தரமலரடி விரல்கொடு நெருக்கினன் மிழலையை நினைய வலவரே
those who are able to think of miḻalai of belonging of Civaṉ who crushed with the toe of his foot comparable to lotus, the twenty hands and the ten beautiful crowns of the arakkaṉ (Irāvaṇaṉ)
ஒருக்கிய உணர்வினொடு ஒளிநெறி செலுமவர்
are people who treat the illumined path with a concentrated mind.

{$} கடிமலர் அயன், அரிகருதருவகைதழல் வடிவு உரு இயல்பினொடு உலகுகள் நிறைதரு நெடியவன் மிழலையை நினையவலவரே
those who are able to think of tall Civaṉ who pervaded all the worlds with a fearful form of fire so that Ayaṉ who is in a fragrant lotus and ari (Māl) could not even think of him (உரு fear).
அடியவர் குழுமிட அவனியில் நிகழ்பவர்
will live in this world surrounded by a crowd of devotees.

{$} மருது அமர்வன் மலர்துவர் உடையவர்களும்
buddhists who wear robes soaked in myrtle dye obtained from the strong flowers of marutam tree.
மதிஇலர், துன்மதி அமணர்கள் தொடர்வரு மிகுபுகழ்நின்மலன் மிழலையை நினையவலவரே
those who can think in miḻalai belonging to the spotless Civaṉ who has such great fame that the camaṇar of wickedness and have no intellect, cannot be approached by these two (These two people cannot understand Civaṉ)
மன்மதன் என ஒளிபெறுமவர்
will have a body as brilliant and beautiful as that of maṉmataṉ (cupid); (cupid is said to be the ideal beautiful person).

{$} நித்திலன் மிழலையை
on Miḻalai belonging to Civaṉ who is as valuable as a pearl.
நிகர்இலி புகலியுள் வித்தகம் மறைமலி தமிழ் விரகனமொழி பத்தியில் வருவன பத்து இவை பயில்வொடு கற்று வல்லவர் உலகினில் அடியவரே
those who learn and are able to recite the ten verses which are the products of devotion of the expert in Tamiḻ and possessing abundant knowledge of perfect Vētam and who is a native of Pukali which has no equal, will become devotees of Civaṉ.
