{$} விரிதருபுலி உரி விரவிய அரையினர்
Civaṉ wears on the waist a broad skin of a tiger.
திரிதரும் எயில் அவை புனைகணையினில் எய்த எரிதரு சடையினன்
who has a caṭai resembling fire and who shot a well-armed arrow on the wandering forts.
இடைமருது அடைவு (1) உனல்புரிதருமனனவர் புகழ்மிகஉளது
there is great fame for those who think in their minds of reaching iṭaimarutu.

{$} மறிதிரைபடுகடல்விடம் மிடைமிடறினர்
Civaṉ has in his neck a poison which rose in the ocean where rolling waves always make noise.
எறிதிரைகரைபொரும் இடைமருது எனும் அவர்
those who say iṭaimarutu where the dashing waves erode the banks.
செறிதிரை நரையொடு செலவு இலர்
do not have grey hairs and many wrinkles of the skin due to old age.
உலகினில் இரைபெறும் பிறிது உடல் பெறுகுவது அரிது
they would not get another body which requires food, in this world (the idea is they won't be born again; இரை is contemptuously used for food eaten by human beings).

{$} சலசலசொரி புனல் சடையினர்
Civaṉ has in his caṭai water (of the Kaṅkai) which flows with a sound cala cala

மலைமகள் நிலவிய உடலினர்
has a body where the daughter of the mountain is fixed.
நிறைமறை மொழியினர்
has the vētams of words full of meaning.
இலர் என இடு பலியவர்
has alms that is given as if he is a poor person.
இடைமருதினை வலமிட
to go from left to right his iṭaimarutu
உடல் நலிவு இலது உள வினையே
there will be no afflictions for the body by the existing Karmams.

{$} விடையினர்
Civaṉ has a bull.
வெளியது ஓர் தலைகலன் என நனிகடை கடைதொறு பலியிடுக எனமுடுகுவர்
will move quickly from every entrance of the house saying, give me alms, holding a white skull as the bowl.
(1) இடைவிடல் அரியவர்
he is to be meditated upon by souls without ceasing.
இடைமருது எனும் நகர் உடையவர் அடியினை தொழுவது எம் உயர்வு
worshipping both the feet of Civaṉ who has the city of iṭaimarutu, is the means to attain greatness.

{$} உரை அரும் உருவினர்
Civaṉ has a form that defies description by words.
உணர்வு அருவகையினர்
it is very difficult to know his completely.
அரைபொருபுலி அதள் உடையினர்
he has a dress made of tiger's skin in the waist.
அதன்மிசை (1) இரைமரும் அரவினர்
he has a cobra which devours its prey, on that skin.
இடைமருது எனவுளம் உரைகளது உடையவர் புகழ்மிக உளதே
the fame of those who think of iṭaimarutu and praise it with their mouths, is exceedingly great.

{$} ஒழுகிய புனல்மதி, அரவமொடு உறைதரும் அழகிய முடியுடை அடிகளது அறைகழல் எழிலினர் உறை இடைமருதினை மலர்கொடு தொழுதல் செய்து எழுமவர் துயர் உறல் இலரே
those who rise after worshipping with flowers iṭaimarutu of the god on whose beautiful head the flowing waters, crescent and cobra dwell, and is beautiful by wearing a sounding armour of the leg, will not undergo sufferings.

{$} கலைமலி விரலினர்
Civaṉ holds on his finger tip a deer.
கடியது ஓர் மழுவொடும் நிலையினர்
holds always a dreadful battle-axe.
சலமகள் உலவிய சடையினர்
has caṭai on which the lady in the form of water is moving about.
மலைமகள் முலைஇணை மருவிய வடிவினர்
has a form on which the impressions were made by the two breasts of the daughter of the mountain.
இலைமலி படையவர் இடம் இடைமருதே
iṭaimarutu is the place of the god who has trident which has three blades.

{$} செரு அடை இலவல செயல் செய் அத்திறலொடும்
along with that strength that can do wrong acts which are not fair in warfare.
அருவரையினில் ஒருபது முடிநெரிதர இருவகைவிரல் நிறியவர் இடைமருது (அது) பரவுவர் அருவினை ஒருவுதல் பெரிதே
the irresistible Karmams of those who praise iṭaimarutu of the god who fixed firmly two toes to crush the ten crowns in the esteemed mountain, taking leave of them is a great act of grace.

{$} அரியொடு மலரவன் என இவர் அடிமுடி தெரிவகை அரியவர்
Civaṉ's head and feet could not be found by these two persons, ari, and Piramaṉ seated in a lotus flower.
திருவடிதொழுது எழ
to worship the holy feet of Civaṉ.
எரிதரும் உருவர்தம் இடைமருது அடைவுறல் புரிதரு மனனவர் புகழ்மிக உளதே
the fame of the those who desire in their minds to reach iṭaimaruta of the one who has a body like fire, is superior to all others.

{$} குடைமயிலினதழைமருவிய உருவினர்
the camaṇar who have an umbrella and feathers of peacock, on their bodies.
உடைமருதுவரினர் பலசொல உறவு இலை
there is no connection between us and the many words of buddhists who wear a robe soaked in myrtle-dye.
அடைமருதிருவினர் தொழுது எழுகழலவர் இடைமருது எனமனம் நினைவதும் எழிலே
even thinking of iṭaimarutu in the mind, of the god whose feet are worshipped by people who possess the wealth of devotion towards Civaṉ, is itself beautiful.

{$} பொருகடல் அடைதரு புகலியர் தமிழொடு விரகினன்
composed by Ñāṉacampantaṉ who is an expert in Tamiḻ among the inhabitants of Pukali which is in proximity to the sea which dashes against the shore

விரிதரு பொழில் இடை மருதினைப் பரவிய ஒருபது பயிலவல்லவர்
those who are able to recite always the ten verses which are in praise of Iṭaimarutu of expansive gardens.
இடர் விரவு இலர் வினையொடு, வியன் உலகு உறவே
will part company with sufferings and karmam-s, the cause of those sufferings to reach the Civalokam extensive.
