{$} பணிந்தவர் அருவினை பற்று அருள் செயத்துணிந்தவன்
Civaṉ who is determined to cut the roots of attachments and Karnams that cannot be removed except by his grace, of those who bow before him.
தோலொடு நூல்துதை மார்பினில் அரவொடுபேர் எழில் ஆமை கொண்டு பிணிந்தவன்
who tied the shell of a big and beautiful tortoise and a cobra in his chest in which an elephant's skin and sacred thread are close to each other. (பிணிந்தவன்=பிணித்தவன்)
வளநகர் அம்தண் ஐயாறு
his fertile city is beautiful and cool aiyāṟu.

{$} கீர்த்திமிக்கவல்நகர் கிளர் ஒளியுடன் அடப் பார்த்தவன்
Civaṉ fixed his gaze for the raging fire to destroy the strong and very famous cities.
பனிமதி படர் சடைவைத்து
having placed on the spreading caṭai the cool crescent.
கரிஉரி போர்த்தவன்
covered himself with the skin of an elephant.
புலி அதள் அரவு அரை ஆர்த்தவன் வளநகர் அம்தண் ஐயாறு
the beautiful and cool aiyāṟu is the fertile city of one who fastened in his waist a tiger's skin and a cobra. (There are some Variation about the storys of destruction of three cities) They are Civaṉ destroyed them by discharging an arrow, by his looks, and by his laughter. All these find a place in tēvāram).

{$} வரிந்த வெஞ்சிலை பிடித்து அவுணர்தம் வளநகர் எரிந்து அற எய்தவன்
Civaṉ who shot an arrow to destroy by fire the flourishing cities of the acurar, holding a cruel bow fastened by several bands.

வரிந்த வெஞ்சிலையால் அந்தரத்தெயிலை வாட்டிய (cuntarar, tiruppaccilācirāmam, 5)]]
எழில் திகழ் மலர்மேல் இருந்தவன் சிரம் அது இமையவர்குறை கொள அரிந்தவன் வளநகர் அம்தண் ஐயாறு
the cool and beautiful aiyāṟu is the fertile city of Civaṉ who cut off the head of Piramaṉ who was seated in the eminent and beautiful flowers of lotus, when the celestials who do not wink, wanted to get their grievances redressed.

{$} அம் தண் ஐயாறு
beautiful and cool aiyāṟu.
வாய்ந்தவல் அவுணர்தம் வளநகர் எரிசடை மாய்ந்து அற எய்தவன்
Civaṉ who destroyed the properous cities of the strong acurar who had the benefit of boons, to be consumed by fire, by discharging an arrow.
வளர்பிறை விரிபுனல் தோய்ந்து எழு சடையினன்
has a rising caṭai in which the growing crescent andspreading water have a dip.
தொல் மறை ஆறு அங்கம் ஆய்ந்தவன் வளநகர்
is the fertile city of Civaṉ who is incestigated by the old vetams and six aṅkams.

{$} அம்தண் ஐயாறு
the beautiful and cool aiyāṟu.
வான் அமர் மதிபுல்கு சடையிடை அரவொடு தேன் அமர் கொன்றையன்
Civaṉ who wears koṉṟai flowers having honey, along with the cobra, in the caṭai to which the crescent which is in the sky, is attached.
திகழ்தரு (1) மார்பினன்
who has a chest in which many adornments shine.
மான் அன மென்விழி மங்கை ஓர்பாகமும் ஆனவன் வளநகர்
is the fertile city of one who has a lady of gentle looks like a deer, as his half,

{$} அம்தண் ஐயாறு
the beautiful and cool Aiyāṟu.
முன்பனை
the strong Civaṉ.
முனிவரோடு (1) அமரர்கள் அடிதொழும் இன்பனை
who is the fountain of happiness, and whose feet the immortals along with sages worship.
இணைஇல இறைவனை
the supreme god who has nothing comparable to him.
எழில்திகழ் என்பொனை
my possession of beautiful gold.
ஏதம் இல் வேதியர்தாம்தொழும் (2) அன்பன வளநகர்
is the fertile city of one who is love and who is worshipped by the blemishless brahmins.

{$} அம்தண் ஐயாறு
the beautiful and cool aiyāṟu.
(1) வன்திறல் அவுணர்தம் வளநகர் எரியிடை வெந்தற எய்தவன்
Civaṉ who shot an arrow to be burnt well by fire, at the three flourishing cities of acurar of immense strength.
விளங்கிய மார்பினில் பந்து அமர் மெல்விரல் பாகம் அதுஆகி தன் அந்தம் இல் வளநகர்
is the fertile city which knows no destruction and which belongs to Civaṉ who has a lady of soft fingers which hold a ball, as his half on his chest.

{$} விடைத்த வல் அரக்கன் நல்வெற்பினை எடுத்தலும்
as soon as the strong arakkaṉ burst into a rage and uprooted and lifted the good mountain.
[[விடைத்த to burst into a rage;
விடைத்துவரும் இலங்கைக்கோன் (campantar puḷḷirukkuvēḷur, 10);
வெங்கண் பொறி சிதறக் கடிது உருமேறு என விடையா(Kamparāmayanam, paracurāmappaṭalam, 16); it means also abounding in;
புன்னை மலர்நாற்றம் விடைத்தேவரும் தென்றல் மிகு வேணுபுரமதுவே (campantar vēṇupuram, 2)]]
அடித்தலத்தால் இறை ஊன்றி மற்றவனது முடித்தலைதோள் அவை நெரிதர முறைமுறை அடர்த்தவன் வளநகர் அம்தண்ஐயாறு
the cool and beautiful aiyāṟu is the fertile city of Civaṉ who pressed down to crush in an order the shoulders and heads wearing crowns, by gently fixing his feet.

{$} விண்ணவர் தம்மொடு வெங்கதிரோன் நல் எண்இலி தேவர்கள் இந்திரன் வழிபட
to be worshipped by intiraṉ, countless tēvar and the sun-god in company with residents of heaven.
கண்ணனும் பிரமனும் காண்பு அரிது ஆகிய அண்ணல்தனவளநகர் அம்தணஐயாறு
the beautiful and cool Aiyāṟu is the fertile city of the eminent god whom it was difficult to find out for Kaṇṇaṉ (Māl) and Piramaṉ.

{$} மருள் உடை மனத்து வண்சமணர்கள்
the strong amaṇar who have confused minds.
மாசு அறா இருள் உடை இணைத்துவர்ப் போர்வையினார்களும்
and ignorant buddhists who have two coverings for their bodies soaked in myrtle dye, and are not free flaws.
தெருளுடை மனத்தவர் தேறுமின்
without coming into contact with the above mentioned people, you who are endowed with clear knowledge, be definite.
திண்ணமா அருளுடை அடிகள் தம் அம்தண் ஐயாறு
Be clear in your minds dispelling doubts that the beautiful and cool aiyāṟu is the shrine of the god who has grace.

{$} அலைமலிபுனல் மல்கும் அம்தண் ஐயாற்றினை
about aiyāṟu in which water with waves is increasing.
நலம்மலி இன்தமிழ் ஞானசம்பந்தனது கலைமலி தமிழ் இவை கற்று வல்லார்
those who have learnt these Tamiḻ verses which are full of artistic beauty composed by ñāṉacampantaṉ proficient in sweet Tamiḻ of many beauties, and become well-versed in them.
மிக நலம் மலிபுகழ்மிகு நன்மையரே
are good people with increasing fame and get many good things accruing from it.
