{$} அவ்வினைக்கு இவ்வினை ஆம் என்று (1) சொல்லும் அஃது அறிவீர்
(Devotees) you know the saying that the present suffering is the result of acts done in previous births.
உய்வினை நாடாதிருப்பதும் உம் தமக்கு ஊனம் அன்றே
is it not a drawback to you sitting idle without any effort to save yourselves from that?
கைவினைசெய்து எம்பிரான் கழல் போற்றதும்
we shall praise the feet of our master by doing manual service.
நாம் அடியோம்
we are his slave.
செய்வினை வந்து எமைத்தீண்டப்பெறா; திருநீலகண்டம்
our acts will not come in contact with us; tirunīlakantam is our refuge and support.

{$} ஏவனையால் எயில் மூன்று எரித்தீர் என்று
praising Civaṉ as you who burnt the three forts by your skill in archery.
காவினை இட்டும்
planting trees to grow gardens
குளம் பல தொட்டும்
and digging many tanks
கனி மனத்தால்
with a tender heart.
இருபொழுதும்
both day and night.
பூவினைக் கொய்து மலர் அடி போற்றுதும் நாம் அடியோம்
we who are your devotees praise your feet which are soft as flower, plucking flower and scattering them at your feet.
தீவினை வந்து எமைத்தீண்டப்பெறா
sins will not come into contact with us.

{$} முலைத்தடம் மூழ்கிய போகங்களும் மற்று எவையும் எல்லாம் விலைத்தலை ஆவணம் கொண்டு எமை ஆண்ட விரிசடையீர்
Civaṉ who has a spread-out caṭai and who brought us as slaves by bond paying price so that all the pleasures enjoyed with women and all other pleasures may not catch hold of us!

சிலைத்து எமைத்தீவினை தீண்டப்பெறா
sins will not come into contact with us roaring.

{$} விண் உலகு ஆள்கின்ற விச்சாதரர்களும் வேதியரும் புண்ணியர் என்று இருபோதும் தொழப்படும் புண்ணியரே
the embodiment of virtuous acts who is worshipped by the viccātarar who rule over heaven and the brahmins as, the embodiment of virtuous acts'
கண் இமையாதன மூன்று உடையீர்
you who have three eyes which do not wink.
உம் கழல் அடைந்தோம்
we approached your feet
திண்ணிய தீவினை தீண்டப்பெறா
the strong sins will not come into contact with us.

{$} மற்று இணை இல்லா மலை திரண்டன்ன திண்தோள் உடையீர்
you have strong shoulders which are like globular mountain and which have no other thing comparable to them!
கிற்று எமை ஆட்கொண்டு கேளாது ஒழிவதும் தன்மை கொல்லோ
is it good nature not to listen to our request, having admitted us as your protege being able to do so

changing the mind which has the nature of forgetfulness.

god who is not born!
திருந்து அடிக்கீழ்ப் பிழையாத வண்ணம் பறித்த மலர்கொடு வந்து உமை ஏத்தும் பணி அடியோம்
we are devotees who pay homage and praise you bringing flowers plucked fresh, scattering them at your perfect feet so that any wrong may not happen.
சிறப்புஇல் இத்தீவினை தீண்டப் பெறா
the sins which have no superiority will not come into contact with us.

{$} கருவைக் கழித்திட்டு
having cut at the root of birth.
வாழ்க்கை கடிந்தும்
and renouncing our lives.
உம் கழல் அடிக்கே உருகி மலர் கொடு வந்து உமை ஏத்துதும் நாம் அடியோம்
we your devotees, praise you coming to your shrine with flowers to scatter at your feet wearing Kaḻal, our hearts melting.
செரு இல் அரக்கனைச் சீரில் அடர்த்து அருள் செய்தவரே
Civaṉ who pressed down the arakkaṉ who had no one to oppose him in battle suitably and granted your grace!
திரு இல் இத்தீவினை தீண்டப்பெறா
these sins which do not have any sacredness will not come into contact with us.

{$} நாற்றம் மலர்மிசை நான்முகம் நாரணன் வாது செய்து
Piramaṉ of four faces who is seated in a (lotus) flower of fragrance and Nāraṇaṉ, who were quarrelling.
தோற்றம் உடைய அடியும் முடியும் தொடர்வு அரியீர்
you whose feet and head which were visible to the eye were difficult to be seen by them!
தோற்றினும் தோற்றும்
you may be visible to the eye if you wish it.
தொழுது வணங்கும் நாம் அடியோம்
we who are your devotees worshipping with joined hands, pay obeisance to you.
சீற்றம் (அது) ஆம் வினை தீண்டப்பெறா
the angry sins will not come into contact with us.

{$} சாக்கியப்பட்டும்
following buddhism
சமண் உரு ஆகி உடை ஒழிந்தும்
camanar who stripping of clothes from their bodies.
பாக்கியம் இன்றி இருதலைப் போகமும் பற்றும் விட்டார்
lost happiness in this world as well as the other world as they had no good fortune and love for those two.
பூக்கமழ் கொன்றைப் புரி சடையீர்
Civaṉ who has a twisted and murky caṭai on which beautiful and fragrant koṉṟai is worn.
அடி போற்றுகின்றோம்
we praise your feet.
தீக்குழித் தீவினை தீண்டப்பெறா
sins which are hot like pit of burning charcoals will not come into contact with us.

{$} பிறந்த பிறவியில்
in this birth in which we are born as human beings.
எம் செல்வன் கழல் அடைவான் பேணி
cherishing with love in order to reach the feet of our god.
இறந்தபிறவி உண்டாகில்
if we are born again after death.
இமையவர்கோன் அடிக்கண் திறம்பயில் ஞானசம்பந்தன் செந்தமிழ் பத்தும் வல்லார்
those who are able to recite all the ten verses of refined Tamiḻ done by Ñāṉacampantaṉ who practises different kinds of services to the feet of Civaṉ who is the master of the celestials who do not wink.
நிறைந்த உலகினில் வானவர் கோனொடும் கூடுவரே
will join with Intiraṉ in the heaven which is full of many kinds of wealth.
