கார் உறு கடிபொழில் சூழ்ந்து அழகுஆர், சீர்உறு வளவயல் சிரபுரம்
is cirāpuram which has fields of good yields, beauty and prosperity, and surrounded by fragrant parks on which clouds stay.

the god who gave to the world out of his grace the abstruse vētams together with the six aṅkams.
திங்களொடு அரவு அணிசடைமுடியன்

மங்கையொடு இனிது உறைவள நகரம்
the prosperous city in which he resides gladly with a young lady.
செங்கயல் மிளிர்வயல் சிரபுரம்
is cirapuram having fields in which the red carp fish roll up and down.

to make the cities of the wandering acurar to be consumed by fire, having love towards the immortals wearing many crowns.
வரிந்த வெஞ்சிலை பிடித்து அடுசரத்தைத் தெரிந்தவன் வளநகர் சிரபுரம்
the fertile city of the god who chose the destroying arrown holding a cruel bow tied with leather straps
[[வரிசிலை is the usual compound word, viṉaittokai, occurring ordinarily; it has been expanded as வரிந்தவெஞ்சிலை; some take it to mean the bow which has lines on it; but the following quotations will corroborate the correct meaning explained above;

குருந்தொடு கொடிவிடு மாதவிகள் திருந்திய புறவு அணி சிரபுரம்
is cirapuram which is made beautiful by wild lime trees and creeper named common delight of the woods which are in an elegand wood.

{$} கலை அவன், மறை அவன் காற்றொடு தீ, மலை அவன் விண்ணொடு மண்ணும் அவன்
the god is the arts, he is the vētam, he is the mountain, he is the heaven and earth.
சிலையவன் கொடிமதில் கூட்டு அழித்த, கொலையவன் வளநகர் சிரபுரம்
cirapuram is the fertile city belonging to the Lord who destroyed the fellowship of the forts on which flags were hoisted, with a bow. (கொலைய வன் கொடிமதில் கூட்டு அழித்த சிலையவன் the Lord who has a bow with which he destroyed the fellowship of the strong forts with flags, which committed murders is also another meaning).

Having adorned on his head dhatura flowers with the crescent which remains in the sky.
தானவர் புரம் எரிசெய்த சைவன் இடம்
the place of the caivaṉ who burnt the cities of the tāṉavar.
கான் அமர் மடமயில் பெடை பயிலும், தேன் அமர்பொழில் அணி சிரபுரம்
is cirapuram which is made beautiful by parks having honey-combs, in which young peacocks, male and female which are fond of woods are found in plenty.

{$} மறுத்தவர் திரிபுரம் மாய்ந்து அழியக், கறுத்தவன்
the god, out of anger destroyed completely the three cities of enemies.
கார் அரக்கன் முடி தோள் இறுத்தவன்
smashed the heads and shoulders of the black arakkaṉ(Irāvaṇaṉ)
இருஞ்சினக் காலனைமுன் செறுத்தவன் வளநகர் சிரபுரம்
cirapuram is the fertile city of the god who is olden times, subdued the Kālaṉ of great anger.

the place of the immaculate god who rose high into the sky assuming the form of fire for Piramaṉ who is seated in the good and colourful lotus and Kaṇṇaṉ to worship his feet.
திண்ணம் நல் மதில் அணி சிரபுரம்
is cirapuram which is made beautiful by strong walls of enclosure.

{$} அருமறை ஞானசம்பந்தன் அம்தண், சிரபுர நகர் உறை சிவன் அடியைப் பரவிய செந்தமிழ் பத்தும் வல்லார்
those who are able to sing the ten verses of chaste tamiḻ with which ñāṉacampantaṉ who knew the abstruse maṟai. praised the feet of Civaṉ who resides in the city of cirapuram.
திருவொடு புகழ் மல்கு தேசினர்
will have lustre with increasing fame in addition to wealth. (In this verse the name சிரபுரம் is placed in எதுகை)
