{$} கொட்டும் பறை சீரால் குழும அனல் ஏந்தி நட்டம் பயின்று ஆடும் நல்லூர்ப் பெருமானை
the god in Nallūr, who dances always holding fire, to the time-measure of the drum that is beaten in a high pitch.
முட்டு இன்று இருபோதும் முனியாது எழுந்து அன்புபட்ட மனத்தார்கள் அறியார் பாவமே
those who have love in their minds waking up from sleep without dislike, night and day without ceasing, will know no sins.

{$} ஏறில் எருது ஏறும்
if at all he rides, he rides on a bull.
எழில் ஆயிழையோடும் வேறும் உடனும் ஆம் விகிர்தர் அவர் என்ன
to be praised as the god who is different from the world, and who is united with a beautiful lady of choice ornaments and at the same [time] separate from her;

நாறும் மலர்ப் பொய்கை நல்லூர்ப் பெருமானைக் கூறும் அடியார்க்கு அடையா குற்றமே
faults will not go near the devotees who praise as mentioned above, the god in Nallūr which has a natural tank of fragrant flowers.

{$} சூடும் இளந்திங்கட்சுடர் பொற்சடை தாழ
when the glittering golden caṭai on which a crescent is worn, hangs low.
ஓடு உண் கலனாக ஊர் ஊர் இடுபிச்சை நாடும் நெறியானை
one who has the nature of begging alms given in many places, having the skull as the eating plate.
நல்லூர்ப்பெருமானைப்பாடும் அடியார்கட்கு அடையா பாவமே
sins will not reach the devotees who sing the praises of the god in Nallūr.

{$} நீத்த நெறியானை
Civaṉ who has renounced all rules.
நாத்த நெறியானை
who showed us the path framed by him. (ஞாத்த has been changed into நாத்த)
நல்லூர்ப் பெருமானை
the god who is in nallūr.
காத்தநெறியானை
who has well-protected modes of devotion.
கை கூப்பித் தொழுது ஏத்தும் அடியார்கட்கு இல்லை இடர்(தான், ஏ)
there will be no sufferings to the devotees who praise and worship joining their hands.

{$} ஆகத்து உமைகேள்வன்
Civaṉ is the husband of Umai who is in his body.
நாகம் அசைத்தானை
who tied a cobra.
நல்லூர்ப் பெருமானை
the god in nallūr.
தாகம் புகுந்து அண்மித் தாள்கள் தொழும் தொண்டர்
the servants of god who worship the feet of Civaṉ reaching them with eagerness.
போக மனத்தராய் புகழத் திரிவாரே
will wander with their minds filled with enjoyment of pleasure, to be praised by the people of this world.

{$} உமை அஞ்சக்கொல்லும் களியானை உரி போர்த்து
having covered himself with the skin of a rutting and killing elephant, to make Umai fear.
நல்ல நெறியானை
who is the good path for people of tread.
நல்லூர்ப் பெருமானை
the god in nallūr.
சொல்லு நெறியானைச் சேர்ந்தார்
who meditated on the bliss that all should attain at the end.
இடர் தீரச் சொல்லும் அடியார்கள் துக்கமே அறியார்
the devotees who praise him to get their sufferings removed, will not know sorrow.

{$} எங்கள் பெருமானை
the god who is exclusively ours.
இமையோர் தொழுது ஏத்தும் நங்கள் பெருமானை
and our god who is praised and worshipped with joined hands by the celestials who do not wink.
நல்லூர் பிரிவு இல்லாத் தம் கை தலைக்கு ஏற்றி ஆள் என்று அடிநீழல் தங்கும் மனத்தார்கள்
the devotees whose mind stay under the shade of the feet saying I am your slave without redemption, placing their hands on their heads, without leaving nallur.
தடுமாற்று அறுப்பாரே
will completely cut at the root of unsteadiness.

{$} காமன் எழில் வாட்டி
having destroyed the beauty of Kāmaṉ (by burning him)
கடல் சூழ் இலங்கைக்கோன் (1) நாமம் இறுத்தானை
who destroyed the fame of the King of ilaṅkai surrounded by the sea.
நல்லூர்ப் பெருமானை
the god in nallūr.
(1) ஏமமனத்தாராய் இகழாது எழும் தொண்டர்
the slaves of god who get up from sleep without negligent with a well guarded mind.
தீபமனத்தார்கள் அறியார் தீயவே
having a steady mind like the lamp will not know evil things.

Civaṉ who could not be approached.
வண்ண மலரானும்
by Piramaṉ who is seated in the red lotus.
வையம் அளந்தானும்
and by Māl who measured the earth.
நல்லூர்ப்பெருமானை
who is in nallūr.
(1) தண் அம்மலர்தூவித் தாள்கள் தொழுது ஏத்தஎண்ணும் அடியார்கட்கு இல்லை இடுக்கணே
there will be no woes to the devotees who think of praising and worshipping the feet scattering cool and beautiful flowers at them

{$} பிச்சக்குடை நீழல் சமணர் சாக்கியர் நிச்சம் அலர்தூற்ற நின்றபெருமானை
the god who remains to be slandered daily by the cākkiyar (buddhists) and camaṇar who wander under the shade of an unbrella made of peacock's feathers.
எச்சும் அடியார்கட்கு இல்லை இடர் (தான், ஏ)
there will be no sufferings to the devotees who speak highly of Civaṉ (எச்சும் is a rare word)

{$} நண்ணும் புனல்வேலி நல்லூர்ப் பெருமானைத் தண்ணம் புனல்காழி ஞானசம்பந்தன் வண்ணம் புனைமாலை வைகல் ஏத்துவார்
those devotees who praise daily with the aid of the garland of beautiful verses composed by Ñāṉacampantaṉ, a native of Kāḻi of cool water, on the god in Nallūr bounded on all sides by water.
விண்ணும் நிலனுமாய் விளங்கும் புகழாரே
will attain fame which is renowned in heaven and the earth.
