{$} கல்லால் நிழல்மேய கறைசேர் கண்டா என்று எல்லாமொழியாலும் இமையோர் தொழுது ஏத்த
when the celestials who do not wink, worshipped with joined hands and praised Civaṉ as one who has a black neck and who is seated under the shade of the banyan tree, in all languages known to them.
வில்லால் அரண் மூன்றும் வெந்துவிழ எய்த நல்லான் நமை ஆள்வான் நல்ல நகரானே
the benign god who shot an arrow, to be consumed by fire and fall down, on the three forts with a bow, and one who admits us into the grace, is in the city of Nallam.

{$} தக்கன் பெருவேள்வி தன்னில் அமரரைத்துக்கம் பலசெய்து
inflicting many sufferings on the immortals who had gathered in the big sacrifice performed by takkaṉ.
சுடர் பொற்சடை தாழ
as the shining beautiful caṭai is hanging low.
கொக்கின் இறகோடு குளிர் வெண்பிறை சூடும் நக்கன்
the naked Civaṉ who wears cool and white crescent along with a white flower like the feather of the crane.
நமை ஆள்வான்
and who admits us into his grace.
நல்லம் நகரானே
is in the city of nallam.

{$} அந்திமதியோடும் அரவச்சடைதாழ முந்தி அனல் ஏந்தி முதுகாட்டு எரிஆடி
one who dances in fire holding fire in the hand at the beginning of the aeon, the caṭai which has a cobra, and a crescent that rises in the evening, to hang low.
[[ஆடி is a noun; not an adverbial participle.]]
(1) சிந்தித்து எழவல்லார் தீராவினை தீர்க்கும் நந்தி
Nanti who can remove our Karmams otherwise irremovable, of those who fix their thoughts on his and wake up from sleep.
நமை ஆள்வான் நல்லம் நகரானே
and who admits us into his grace is in the city of Nallam.

{$} குளிரும் மதிசூடி
weaving a cool crescent on the head.
கொன்றைச்சடை தாழ
and the caṭai which wears koṉṟai flowers to hand low.
மிளிரும் அழகோடும் வெண்ணூல் திகழ் மார்பில் தளிரும் திருமேனித்தையல் பாகமாய்
Civaṉ having a young lady whose body has the complexion of tender mango leaves, on the chest in which the sacred thread is prominent along with a gleaming cobra.
நளிரும் வயல் சூழ்ந்த நல்ல நகரானே
is in the city of nallam surrounded by cool fields.

{$} மணி ஆர் திகழ் கண்டம் உடையான்
Civaṉ has a shining neck which shines like the sapphire. cherishing with love the feet of our father and master who has a twisted long caṭai in which there is an abundance of flowers.
துணிவார் தொண்டர் மலர்கொண்டு ஏத்த
devotees with a resolute mind to worship Civaṉ with flowers.
நணியான்
is near at hand.
நமை ஆள்வான்
admits us as him protege.
நல்ல நகரான்
is in the city of nallam.

{$} வாசம் மலர் மல்கு மலையான் மகளோடும் பூசும்சுடுநீறு புளைந்தான்
Civaṉ adorned himself with well burnt sacred ash which is intended for smearing, having on his half the daughter of the mountain (imavāṉ) who adorns herself profusely with fragrant flowers.
விரிகொன்றை ஈசன் என உள்கி எழுவார்வினைகட்டு நாசன்
destroyes the Karmams of those who think of his as the Lord who wears blossomed koṉṟai flowers and then wake up from sleep.
நமை ஆள்வான் நல்ல நகரானே
and who admits us as his protege is in the city of nallam.

{$} அம்கோல்வளை மங்கை காண அனல் ஏந்திக் கொங்குஆர் நறுங்கொன்றைசூடி
Having adorned his head with fragrant koṉṟai which has honey, holding fire in his hand and to be witnessed by the young lady who wears a beautiful collection of bangles.
குழகுஆக வெங்காடு இடமாக வெந்தீ விளையாடும் நம்கோன்
our master who dances in the hot fire as if it is his play having the hot cremation-ground as the stage, with youthful vigour. ((காணவிளையாடும்: is the syntactical link)
நமை ஆள்வான் நல்ல நகரான்
and who admits us into his grace is in the city of nallam.

{$} பெண் ஆர் திருமேனிப் பெருமான்
Civaṉ who has on his holy body a lady.
பிறை (1) மல்கு கண் ஆர் நுதலினான்
who has a forehead in which there is an eye, and the crescent is flourishing.
கயிலை கருத்தினால் எண்ணாது எடுத்தானை இறையே விரல் ஊன்றி
who pressed down in a very small measure the one who intentionally lifted Kayilai without thinking what is to happen to him.
நண்ணார் புரம் எய்தான்
and who shot an arrow on the cities of enemies.
நல்ல நகரானே
is in the city of nallam.

{$} நாகத்து அணையானும் நளிர்மா மலரானும்
Māl who sleeps on a serpet-bed and Piramaṉ seated in a cool and big (lotus) flower.
போகத்து இயல்பினால் பொலிய
to be prominent by the enjoyment of pleasures (including sexual enjoyment)
அழகு ஆகும் ஆகத்தவளோடும் அமர்ந்து (அங்கு) அழகு ஆரும் நாகம்(ம்) அரை ஆர்த்தான் நல்ல நகரானே
Civaṉ who tied a beautiful cobra in the waist, dwelling with desire with a lady in his body who is beauty itself, is in the city of nallam.

{$} குறிஇல் சமணோடு குண்டர் வண்தேரர் அறிவுஇல் உரைகேட்டு அங்கு அவமே கழியாதே
to pass your life wasting it listening to the words which have no wisdom, of the low camaṇar who have no high aim and the strong tēvar (buddhists).
பொறி கொள் அரவு ஆர்த்தான்
Civaṉ who tied a cobra of stops.
பொல்லாவினை தீர்க்கும் நறைகொள் பொழில் சூழ்ந்த நல்ல நகரானே
and who can remove the evil Karmams is in the city of nallam surrounded by gardens (தீர்க்கும் qualifies நகரான்)

{$} நலம் ஆர் மறையோர் வாழ் நல்ல நகர் மேய கொலைசேர் மழுவானை
on Civaṉ who has a battle-axe capable of killing and who is in the city of nallam where brahmins of great virtues live.
கொச்சை அமர்ந்து ஓங்கு தலம் ஆர் தமிழ் ஞான சம்பந்தன் சொன்ன கலைகள் இஐவவல்லார்
those who are capable of reciting the arts which were composed by ñāṉacampantaṉ of vast knowledge of tamiḻ who is a resident of the great shrine Koccai.
கவலை கழிவார்
will be free from their anxieties.
