{$} புனையும் விரிகொன்றைக் கடவுள்
the god who adorns himself with the blossomed koṉṟai.
புனல் பாய நனையும் சடைமேல் ஓர் நகு வெண்தலைசூடி
wearing on the caṭai which becomes wet as the water (of the Kaṅkai) flows, a white smiling skull.
வினைஇல் அடியார்கள் விதியால் வழிபட்டு
the devotees who are free from Karmams to perform worship according to rules.
கனையும் கடல் நாகைக் காரோணத்தான்
is in nākaikkārōnam on the shore of the sea which is always roaring.

{$} பெண் ஆண் என நின்ற பெம்மான்
The great god who is both female and male.
பிறைச்சென்னி அண்ணாமலை நாடன்
who dwells in the country named after aṇṇāmalai, and who wears on his head a crescent.
ஆரூர் உறை அம்மான்
and the god as father who dwells in ārūr.
மண் ஆர் முழவு ஓவா மாட(ந்) நெடுவீதிக்கண் ஆர்கடல் நாகைக் காரோணத்தான்
is in nākaikkārōṇam on the shore of the sea pleasing to the eye, which has long streets with storeys where the muḻavu on the head of which paste is smeared for toning it, never ceases from being played (கண் ஆர்கடல் may also be translated as expansive sea).

{$} பாரோர் தொழ, விண்ணோர் பணிய(ம்) மதில் மூன்றும் ஆரார் அழல் ஊட்டி
setting fire to all the three forts of the enemies, when he was worshipped by the people of this world and the tēvar in heaven paid obeisance.

அழிசூழ்புனல் ஏற்ற அண்ணல்
the ominent god who received the water which descended with the intention of destroying the world.
அணி ஆய, பழி சூழ்வு இலர் ஆய பத்தர் பணிந்து ஏத்த
the pious people who are an ornament to this world and who do not think of reproachful acts, to pay obeisance and praise.
கழிசூழ் கடல் நாகைக் காரோணத்தான்
is in nākaikkārōṇam on the shore of the ocean which is surrounded by back-waters.

{$} ஆணும் பெண்ணும் ஆய்
being male and female.
அடியார்க்கு அருள் நல்கி
granting his grace to devotees.
சேண் நின்றவர்க்கு இன்னம் சிந்தை செயவல்லான்
Civaṉ who is the object of meditation still to those who are far removed from him. (சேண்நின்றவர் may also mean tēvar who are in heaven)
பேண வழிபாடு பிரியாது எழும் தொண்டர் காணும் கடல் நாகைக்காரோணத்தான்
is in nākaikkārōṇam on the shore of the ocean, whom the devotees see in their mental eyes and worship him with love without leaving him.

{$} ஏனத்து எயிறோடும் அரவம் மெய்பூண்டு
having adorned himself with the hog's tusk and cobra on the body.
வானத்து இளந்திங்கள் வளரும் சடை அண்ணல்
the god on whose caṭai the crescent that shines in the sky is flourishing.
ஞானத்து உரை வல்லார் நாளும் பணிந்து ஏத்த
people who possess words of spiritual wisdom pay obeisance to, and praise Civaṉ
கானல் கடல் நாகைக் காரோணத்தான்
is in nākaikkārōṇam on the shore of the sea which has sea-shore garden.

{$} அரை ஆர் அழல் நாகம் அக்கோடு அசைத்திட்டு
having tied a cobra as cruel as the fire and chank-beads.
விரை ஆர்வரை மார்பின்வெண்ணீறு அணிஅண்ணல்
the god who smears sacred ash on his chest which is as strong as the mountain, and which is full of fragrance.
வரை ஆர்வனபோல வங்கங்கள்
the ships that make the sea appear to be full of mountains.
வளரும் கரை ஆர்கடல் நாகைக் காரோணத்தான்
is in nākaikkārōṇam where on the shore near the see the ships seems to be sleeping.

{$} வலம்கொள் புகழ் பேணி
desiring the fame that comes from going from left to right.
வரையால் உயர்திண்தோள் இலங்கைக்கு இறைவாட அடர்த்து அங்கு அருள் செய்தான்
Civaṉ granted his grace after pressing by the mountain to decrease the strength of the King of ilaṅkai who has tall and strong shoulder.
பலம் கொள் புகழ் மண்ணில் பத்தர் பணிந்து ஏத்த
the pious people pay obeisance and praise the fame of the god that brings good to them.
கலம் கொள் கடல் நாகைக் காரோணத்தான்
is in nākaikkārōṇam on the shore which has ships.

tirumāl to fall at his feet.
திசை நான்முகன் ஏத்த
Piramaṉ who had four faces one for each of the quarters, to praise him.

பிறைச் சென்னிச் செருமால் விடை ஊரும் செல்வன்
the god who rides on a bull capable of fighting and who has on his head a crescent.
திரைசூழ்ந்த கருமால் கடல் நாகைக் காரோணத்தான்
is in nākaikkārōṇam on the shore of the great black sea in which waves spread everywhere.

good people to talk words of moral instruction.
பொல்லார் புறம் கூற
wicked people to indulge in back-biting.
அல்லார் அலர்தூற்ற
others to spread slandour.
அடியார்க்கு அருள் செய்வான்
will grant his grace to his devotees.
பல் ஆர் தலை மாலை அணிவான்
puts on a garland a skulls with their teeth intact.
பணிந்து ஏத்த
to pay obeisance and praise.
கல் ஆர்கடல் நாகைக் காரோணத்தான்
is in nākaikkārōnam on the shore of the sea which is always noisy.

{$} கரை ஆர் கடல் நாகைக் காரோணம் மேய நரைஆர் விடையானை நவிலும் சம்பந்தன் உரை ஆர் தமிழ்மாலை பாடும்(ம்) அவர் எல்லாம்
all those who sing the famous garlands of Tamiḻ verses composed by Campantaṉ on Civaṉ who has a white bull and who dwells with desire in Nākaikkārōṇam near the sea is roaring.
கரையா உருவாகிக் கலிவான் அடைவார்
will reach heaven which is flourishing, without their bodies being destroyed.
