{$} காலை நன் மாமலர் கொண்டு அடி பரவிக் கை தொழு மாணியைக் கறுத்த வெங்காலன் ஓலம் (அது) இடமுன் உயிரொடு மாள உதைத்தவன்
the Lord who kicked the cruel god of death who came with anger upon the brahmachāri (Mārkkaṇṭēyaṉ) who worshipped with his hands and praised the feet, daily with defectless big flower, to cry aloud and his life to ebb out.

உமையவள் விருப்பன் எம்பெருமான்
Has love towards Umayavaḷ; our great one.
மேவி வீற்றிருந்தார்
sat majestically with gladness.
மாலை வந்து அணுக
when the evening approaches.
ஓதம் வந்து உலவி மறிதிரை சங்கொடு பவளம்முன் உந்தி வேலை வந்து அணையும் சோலைகள் சூழ்ந்த வெங்குருவுள்
in Veṅkuru which is surrounded by gardens approached by the sea by moving about on account of the tide when the rolling waves push forward coral and conch.

{$} பெண்ணினைப் பாகம் அமர்ந்து
Having a lady on one half.
சடைமேல் பிறையொடும் அரவினை அணிந்து
and having adorned on the caṭai a cobra along with a crescent.
அழகாகப் பண்ணினைப் பாடி ஆடிமுன் பலிகொள் பரமர் எம் அடிகளார்
our deity and superior one who received alms in the past, dancing and singing melodies beautifully.
பரிசுகள்பேணி
exhibiting grace which is his nature.
மண்ணினைமூடி
having covered the earth.
வான்முகடு ஏறி
having climbed to the top of the sky.
மறிதிரைகடல் முகந்து எடுப்ப உயர்ந்து
having risen high when the sea was lifted up by the rolling waves.
விண் அளவு ஓங்கி
and growing as high as the sky.
வந்து இழி கோயில் வெங்குருவுள் மேவி வீற்றிருந்தார்
sat majectically with gladness in the temple in Venkuru, which descended coming down,

{$} ஓர் இயல்பு இல்லா உருவம் (அது) ஆகி
Assuming a form which has no properties.
ஒண்திறல் வேடனது உரு (அது) கொண்டு
Having the form of a very skillful hunter.
காரிகை காணத் தனஞ்சயன் தன்னைக் கறுத்து
and fighting with taṉancayaṉ (arjunaṉ) to be witnessed by the lady.
(1) அவற்கு அளித்து உடன் காதல் செய்பெருமான்
the great Civaṉ who granted him (a weapon) and loved him.
நேரிசையாக அறுபதம் முரன்று நிரைமலர்த் தாதுகள் மூச
the six footed beetle like the melody, nēricai, and swarm upon the pollen of the row of flowers.
விண்டு உதிர்ந்து வேரிகள் எங்கும் விம்மிய சோலை வெங்குருவுள் மேவி வீற்றிருந்தார்
sat majestically and gladly in venkuru which has gardens which are full of different kinds of honey everywhere, when the pollen drops as the flowers unfold their petals.

{$} வண்டு அணை கொன்றை (யும்) வன்னியும் மத்தம் மருவிய கூவிளம் எருக்கொடு மிக்க கொண்டு அணிசடையர்
the Lord having a caṭai on which he adorns yarcum, vilvam leaves to which he has become accustomed, dhātura flowers, leaves of vaṉṉi (Indian mesquit), and koṉṟai which are approached by bees.

பூதம் கொடுகொட்டி குடமுழாக் (1) கூடியும் முழவ
when the pūtams play upon koṭukotti and ghatam for their sound to combine together without difference.
பண்திகழ்வாகப் பாடி ஓர்வேதம் பயில்வர்
will always chant one vētam in a melody which is clear.

மேனிநீறு (அது) பூசி
having smeared on the body sacred ash
தக்கை கொள் பொக்கணம் இட்டு
having hung on the shoulder a cloth bag in which the musical instrument takkai is placed.

உடனாகக் கடைதொறும் வந்து வலி (அது) கொண்டு கண்டவர் மனம் அவை கவர்ந்து
coming to the entrance of house with that bag and receiving alms and captivating the minds of those who look at him.
அழகாகப் படை (அது) ஏந்தி
holding a weapon beautifully.
(1) பைங்கயற்கண்ணி உமையவள் பாகமும் அமர்ந்து அருள் செய்து
having fixed with love on one half Umayavaḷ who has elegant eyes like carp fish
விடையொடு பூதம் சூழ்தரச் சென்று
and having gone to be surrounded by pūtam-s and a bull.
வெங்குருவுள் மேவி வீற்றிருந்தார்
is seated majestically and gladly in veṅkuru.

{$} கரை பொருகடலின் திரை (அது) மோத
As the waves in the sea which seem to fight with the shore, push against with force.
கங்குல் வந்து ஏறிய சங்கமும் இப்பி உரையுடை முத்தமும் மணலிடை வைகி
the conches and famous pearls which come out of the oysters which come and climb on the shore, stay in the sand.
ஓங்குவான் இருள் அறத்துரப்ப
dispel completely the darkness in the high sky.
புரைமலி வேதம் போற்று பூசுரர்கள் புரிந்து அவர் நலம் கொள் ஆகுதியினில் நிறைந்த விரைமலிதூபம் விசும்பினை மறைக்கும் வெங்குருவுள்
is Venkuru where the smoke of excessive fragrance which is full in the oblation offered in the consecrated beneficial fire, which is maintained by the brahmins who protect the Vētam-s of increasing greatness hides the sky.
மேவிவீற்றிருந்தார்
is seated majestically and gladly in Veṅkuru.

{$} வல்லி நுண்ணிடையாள் உமையவள் தன்னை மறுகிடவரு மதகளிற்றிணை மயங்க ஒல்லையிற்கிடித்து அங்குஉரித்து அவள் வெருவல்கெடுத்தவர்
when a rutting elephant came to make Umayavaḷ who has a thin waist like a creeper, whirl in mind, the Lord who caught hold of it quickly and flayed its skin, removed her fright.
பொழில் மிகு திரு ஆலில் நல் அறம் உரைத்து ஞானமோடு இருப்ப
when he was with spiritual wisdom after having explained good aṟam under the sacred banyan tree which is like a big garden (though single)
நலிந்திடலுற்று வந்த அக்கருப்பு வில்லியைப் பொடிபட விழித்தவர்
the Lord who opened his third eye to reduce to ash that well-known Cupid who has a bow of sugar-cane and who came to give trouble to him (the Lord)

விரும்பி வெங்குருவுள் மேவி வீற்றிருந்தார்
sat majestically and gladly in Veṅkuru, desiring that place.

{$} பாங்கிலா அரக்கன் கயிலை அன்று எடுப்ப
when on that day the arakkaṉ who had no good qualities, lifted up Kayilai.
பலதலை முடியொடு தோள் அவை நெரிய ஓங்கிய விரலால் ஊன்றி
having pressed with the great toes to break the many heads with their crowns and shoulders, into pieces.
அன்று அவற்கே ஒளிதிகழ்வாள் (அது) கொடுத்து
and presenting the same arakkaṉ with a shining sword on that day itself.
அழகாய கோங்கொடு செருந்தி கூவிளம் மத்தம் கொன்றையும் குலாவிய செஞ்சடைச் செல்வர்
the Lord with a red caṭai on which the beautiful flowers of common caung, cerunti, vilvam, dhatura flowers and koṉṟai flowers, are shining.

sat majestically and gladly in veṅkuru which has a temple where the golden coloured flowers of the east Kino tree are abundant and spread their fragrance.

{$} ஆறுடைச்சடை எம் அடிகளைக் காண
to see our Lord who has a river on his caṭai.
அரியொடு பிரமனும் அளப்பதற்காகி
Ari and Piramaṉ trying to fathom his nature.
சேறிடைத் திகழ் வானிடைப்புக்கும் செலவு அறத்தவிர்ந்தனர்
the Lord was the cause for completely giving up their journey by digging the earth and flying in the bright sky.
எழிலுடைத்திகழ் வெண்ணீறுடைக் கோல மேனியர்
has a beautiful form on which the white sacred and beautiful ash is shining.
நெற்றிக் கண்ணினர்
has an eye on the forehead.
விண்ணவர் கைதொழுது ஏத்த
when the residents of heaven were praising him by worshipping with joined hands.
வேறு எமை ஆளவிரும்பிய விகிர்தர்
the Lord who is different from the world desired to admit me into his grace in a quite different manner.
வெங்குருவுள் மேவி வீற்றிருந்தார்
sat majestically and gladly in Veṅkuru.

{$} பாடுடைக்குண்டர் சாக்கியர் சமணர் பயில்தரும் மறவுரை விட்டு
Being far beyond the unrighteouss precepts which are repeated often by camaṇar and the low cākkiyar who know only suffering
அழகாக ஏடுஉடை மலராள் பொருட்டு வன்தக்கன் எல்லை இல் வேள்வியைத் தகர்த்து அருள் செய்து
Bestowing his grace after destroying the sacrifice which had no specified time and performed by Takkaṉ for the sake of the lady who is as tender as a flower having petals arranged beautifully.
காடிடுக் கடி நாய்கலந்து உடன்சூழக்கண்டவர் வெருவுற விளித்து
making a sound to make people who saw him to be frightened, and to be surrounded on the sides by the frightening dogs joining together in the forest.
வெய்தாய வேடுடைக் கோலம் விரும்பிய விகிர்தர்
the god who is different from the world and who desired the form of a cruel hunter.
வெங்குருவுள் மேவி வீற்றிருந்தார்
sat majestically and gladly in Veṅkuru.

{$} விண்இயல் விமானம் விரும்பிய பெருமான்
the god who desired to stay in the vimāṉam touching the sky.
வெங்குருவுள் மேவி வீற்றிருந்தாரை
and who sat majestically with gladness in veṅkuru.
நண்ணிய நூலன்
one who had the knowledge of the Vētam-s which came to him of their own accord.

இவ்வாய்மொழிநலம் மிகு பத்தும்
all these ten verses which have excellent beauty and truthful words.
பண் இயல்பாகப் பத்திமையாலே பாடியும் ஆடியும் பயிலவல்லோர்கள்
those who are capable of repeating and singing them dancing out of extasy with devotion, according to the paṇ natural to them.
விண்ணவர் விமானம் கொடுவர ஏறி
ascending the fabulous self-moving serial van brought by the celestials.
வியன் உலகு ஆண்டு வீற்றிருப்பவர்
will rule over that extensive world of heaven and be care-free.
