{$} நறவம் நிறை வண்டு அறைதார்க்கொன்றை நயந்து
Having desired the garland of koṉṟai which is full of honey and on which bees hum loudly.
சுறவம் செறி வண் கொடியோன் உடலம் பொடியா நயனத்தால் விழி செய்தான்
God opened his eyes to reduce to ash the body of the cupid who has a flag on which the beautiful shark is drawn.
புறவம் உறை வண் பதியா
having fertile puṟavam, as his residence.

{$} உரவன் புலியின் உரி தோல் ஆடை உடை மேல்
on the dress of the skin of the very strong tiger which was flayed.
பட நாகம் விரவி விரிபூங்கச்சா அசைத்த விகிர்தன்
the god who is different from the world fastened as a beautiful and broad belt, a cobra with a hood to be united with him
உகிர் தன்னால் பொரு வெங்களிறு பிளிற உரித்து
having flayed the skin of the fighting and wrathful elephant to roar, with his nail;
புறவம் பதியாக
having puṟavam as his residence.
இரவும் பகலும் இமையோர் ஏத்த உமையோடு இருந்தான்
was seated with Umai to be praised night and day by the immortals who do not wink.

{$} பந்த முடைய பூதம் பாடப் பாதம் சிலம்பு ஆர்க்க
when the pūtams which are attached to the god sing and the anklets worn on the leg make a jingling sound
கந்தம் மல்கு குழலி காண்
the lady who has tresses of hair with abundant fragrance to witness it.
கரி காட்டு எரி ஆடி
Having danced in the fire of the charred cremation ground.
அம் தண் கடல் சூழ்ந்து அழகு ஆர் புறவம் பதியா அமர்வு எய்தி
being pleased with puṟavam which is full of beauty being surrounded by the beautiful and cool sea, as his abode.
எம் தம் பெருமான் இமையோர் ஏத்த உமையோடு இருந்தான்
our Lord was seated with Umai to be praised by the immortals who do not wink.

{$} பனி ஆர் மலர் தூய் நித்தலும், நினைவார் நினைய இனியான்
the god who is sweet to meditate upon daily by scattering very cool flowers.
கனை ஆர் விடை ஒன்று உடையான்
Has a bellowing bull.
கங்கை திங்கள் புகழ் கொன்றைபுனைவார் சடையின் முடியான்
Has a long caṭai which is dressed in the form of a crown on which he adorns Kaṅkai, crescent and fragrant koṉṟai flowers.
கடல்சூழ் புறவம் பதியாக
puṟavam surrounded by the sea as his residence.
எனை ஆள் உடையான் இமையோர் ஏத்த உமையோடு இருந்தோன்
the god who admitted me as his protege was seated with Umai to be worshipped by the immortals who do not wink.

{$} செங்கண் அரவும் நகு வெண்தலையும் முகிழ்வெண் திங்களும் தங்குசடையன்
the god on whose caṭai, cobra having a red eye, laughing white skull and a white crescent stay.

has a dress of a loin-cloth which slides down;
பொங்குதிரை வண்கடல் சூழ்ந்து அழகு ஆர் புறவம் பதியாக
having as his puṟavam of grand beauty which is surrounded by the sea productive of many things and having surging waves.
எங்கும் பரவி இமையோர் ஏத்த உமையோடு இருந்தான்
was seated with Umai to be praised by the immortals who do not wink having spread themselves everywhere.

{$} பின்னுசடைகள் தாழ
the interwoven caṭai to fall low on (the nape)
கேழல் எயிறு பிறழப்போய்
and going with the hog's tusk to shine
அன்ன நடையார் மனைகள் தோறும் அழகால் பலி தேர்ந்து
begging alms beautifuly going to every house of the ladies whose gait resembles that of the swan.
புன்னை மடலின் பொழில் சூழ்ந்து
surrounded by the parks of mast-wood tree which has abundant flowers.
[[மடல் is used for the flowers of a tree which has a rough exterior.]]
அழகு ஆர் புறவம் பதியாக
having the beautiful puṟavam as his abode.
என்னை உடையான்
my master.
இமையோர் ஏத்த உமையோடு இருந்தான்
was seated with Umai to be praised by the immortals who do not wink.

{$} உண்ணுதற்கு அரிய நஞ்சை உண்டு ஒரு தோழம் தேவர், விண்ணில் பொலிய அமுதம் அளித்த விடைசேர் கொடி அண்ணல்
the god who has a flag on which the form of a bull is drawn, drank the poison which is difficult to drink and gave ambrosia so that the tēvar of the big number, toḻam could prosper in heaven.

was seated with Umai to be praised by immortals who do not wink and who are foremost in meditating upon god.

{$} விண்தான் அதிர வியன் ஆர் கயிலை வேரோடு எடுத்தான் தன், திண்தோள் உடலும் முடியும் நெரியச் சிறிதே ஊன்றிய, புண்தான் ஒழிய அருள் செய் பெருமான்
the god who bestowed on him his grace to remove the wound caused by gently pressing down to crush the strong shoulders, body and heads belonging to that one who uprooted the spacious Kayilai to make residents of the heaven tremble.
புறவம் பதியாக, எண் தோள் உடையான் இமையோர் ஏத்த உமையோடு இருந்தான்
the god with eight shoulders was seated with Umai, having Puṟavam as his abode, to be praised by the immortals who do not wink.

{$} நெடியான் நீள் தாமரைமேல் அயனும் நேடிக் காண்கில்லாப்படி ஆர் மேனி உடையான்
God who has a body that is compared to others and which was not found out though the tall one (Māl) and Ayaṉ who is seated on a long lotus, went in search of his head and feet

பவள வரைபோல் திருமார்பில், பொடி ஆர் கோலம் உடையான்

{$} ஆலும் மயிலின் பீலி அமணர் அறிவு இல் சிறு தேரர், கோலும் மொழிகள் ஒழிய
to make the words fabricated by the ignorant, low buddhists and amaṇar who hold in their hands a bundle of feathers of the dancing peacock, meaningless and empty.
குழுவும் தழலும் எழில் வானும் போலும் வடிவும் உடையான்
the god has a body resembling the beautiful red sky at sunset and several fires combined together.
கடல் சூழ் புறவம் பதியாக
having puṟavam surrounded by the sea as his abode.
ஏலும் வகையால் இமையோர் ஏத்த உமையோடு இருந்தான்
was seated with Umai to be worshipped by the immortals who do not wink, in a manner suitable to them.

{$} பொன் ஆர் மாடம் நீடும் செல்வப் புறவம் பதியாக, மின் ஆர் இடையாள் உமையாளோடும் இருந்த விமலனை
on the spotless god who was seated with Umaiyāḷ who has a waist like the lightning, having as his abode Puṟavam of prospering wealth and which has beautiful storeys.
தன் ஆர்வம் செய் தமிழின் விரகன் உரைத்த தமிழ் மாலை, பன்னாள்பாடி ஆட
to sing and dance with the garland to Tamiḻ which was composed by the expert in Tamiḻ placing his love on god.
பரலோகம் பிரியார்
will always reside in the upper world.
