{$} பூ ஆர் மலர்கொண்டு அடியார் தொழுவார்
Civaṉ who is worshipped with charming flowers by his devotees.
வானோர்கள் புகழ்வார்
whose fame is praised by the celestials.
மூவார் புரங்கள் எரித்த அன்று மூவர்க்கு அருள் செய்தார்
he bestowed his grace on three acurar when he burnt the cities of those who could not be destroyed;
[[மூவர்க்கு அருள் செய்தது: மூ எயில் செற்ற ஞான்று உய்ந்த மூவரில் இருவர் நின்திருக்கோயிலின் வாய்தல், காவலாளர் என்று ஏவியபின்னை, ஒருவன் நீ கரிகாடு அரங்காக, மானைநோக்கி ஓர் மாநடம் மகிழமணி முழாமுழக்கவ் அருள்செய்த தேவதேவ (cuntarar, tiruppuṉkūr, 8)]]
தூமாமழைநின்றதிர வெருவித்தொறுவின் நிரையோடும் ஆமாம்பிணை வந்து அணையும் சாரல் அண்ணாமலையாரே
he is the Lord in Aṇṇāmalai [where] the female of the wild cow reaches the slopes together with the herd of cows being startled when the big cloud which is drizzling thunders on the top of the mountain.

{$} மஞ்சைப் போழ்ந்த மதியம் சூடும் வானோர் பெருமானார்
Civaṉ, the master of the celestials, who wears a crescent which passes through cloud.
வெஞ்சொற்பேசும் வேடர் மடவார் இதணம் (அது) ஏறி
the girls of the hunters who speak harsh words climbing upon the high shed put up temporarity with a platform from which to watch the field.
அம்சொற்கிளிகள் ஆயோ என்னும் அண்ணாமலையாரே
and the Lord in Aṇṇāmalai where they scare away parrots of sweet voice by saying āyō';
[[ஆயோ: a word used when birds and beasts are driven from the millet field; நுமது, வாயோ அதுவன்றி வல்வினையேனும் கிளியும் எள்கும், ஆயோ அடும்தொண்டையோ அறையோ இது அறிவரிதே (nammāḻwār tiruviruttam, 11); ஆயோ எனும் குரல் அந்தோ புனத்தை அழிக்கின்றதே (an old verse); the word ஆலோலம் (ālōlam) is also used for the same purpose; பூவைகாள் செங்கட் புறவங்காள் ஆலோலம், தூவி மா மஞ்ஞைகாள் சொற்கிளிகாள் ஆலோலம்; கூவல் சேர்வுற்ற குயிலினங்காள் ஆலோலம், சேவல்காள் ஆலோலம் என்றாள் திருந்திழையாள் (Kantapurāṇam, vaḷḷiyammai tirumaṇappaṭalam, 54).]]
நஞ்சைக் கண்டத்து அடக்குமதுவும் நன்மைப் பொருள் போலும்
perhaps it is a good act that he controlled the poison in his neck.

{$} ஞானத்திரளாய் நின்ற பெருமான்
the Lord who is the aggregate of spiritual knowledge.
ஏனத்திரளோடு இனமான் கரடி இழியும் இரவின்கண் ஆனைத்திரள் வந்து அணையும் சாரல் அண்ணாமலையாரே
who is in Aṇṇāmalai which has slopes in which the herd of elephants reach as a place of safety at night, when herds of deers and bears descend from the top along with the herd of wild boars.
நல்ல அடியார்மேல் ஊத்திரளை நீக்கும் அதுவும் உண்மைப் பொருள் போலும்
perhaps it is a true fact that he removes the abundance of defects from his good devotees.

{$} பிழைத்த பிடியைக் காணாது ஓடிப்பெருங்கை மதவேழம்
the male elephant with must and having a long trunk running when it did not see the female elephant which was missing.
அழைத்துத் திரிந்து அங்கு உறங்கும் சாரல் அண்ணாமலையாரே
the god in Aṇṇāmalai in those slopes where it sleeps wandering and uttering a loud cry.
இழைத்த இடையாள் உமையாள் பங்கர்
has Umayāḷ whose waist has the nature of a single twisted thread.
தழைத்த சடையர்
has a caṭai of luxuriant growth.
விடை ஒன்று ஏறித்தரியார் புரம் எய்தார்
shot an arrow and destroyed the cities of the enemies, riding on a bull.

{$} பருவில் குறவர் புனத்தில் குவித்த பருமாமணிமுத்தம் அருவித் திரளோடு இழியும் சாரல் அண்ணாமலையாரே
Civaṉ in Aṇṇāmalai which has slopes in which the big gems of pearls which were heaped in the millet form by the KuṟaVar having big bows, descend along with the multitude of streams.
உருவின் திகழும் உடையாள் பங்கர்
has Umayāḷ who has a shining beauty of form, on one half.
இமையோர் பெருமானார்
is the chief of the celestials who do not wink.
செருவில் ஒருகால் வளைய ஊன்றிச் செந்தீ எழுவித்தார்
caused fire to rise in the three cities by fixing firmly the big toe to bend one end of the bow in the war against the acurar.
[[வரை அன்று ஒருகால் இருகால் வளையநிமிர்ந்து வட்கார்; நிரை அன்று அழல் எழ எய்து நின்றோன் (Kōvaiyār, 152).]]

{$} கனைத்தமேதி காணாது ஆயன் கைம்மேல் குழல் ஊத அனைத்தும் சென்று திரளும் சாரல் அண்ணாமலை(ஆரே)
the Aṇṇāmalai which has slopes in which the shepherd without seeing the buffalo but hearing its bellowing sound plays on his flute kept in the hand and all the buffaloes go to him and gather together.
எனைத்து ஓர் ஊழி அடியார் ஏத்த இமையோர் பெருமானார்
the master of the celestials who do not wink is praised by his devotees in every so many aeons.
நினைத்துத்தொழுவார் பாவம் தீர்க்கும் நிமலர் உறைகோயில்
is the temple of the spotless god who removes the sins of those who worship him with intention.
[[ஆர் should be construed as an expletive in this verse, and verses No.7.]]

{$} முந்தி எழுந்த முழவின் ஓசை முதுகல் வரைதன்மேல் அந்திப்பிறைவந்து அணையும் சாரல் அண்ணாமலை (ஆரே)
Aṇṇāmalai which has a slope in which the crescent that rises in the evening comes in contact with the hill which has old boulders, and which has the music of the muḻavu which was played earlier.
வந்தித்திருக்கும் அடியார் தங்கள் வருமேல் வினையோடு பந்தித்திருந்த பாவம் தீர்க்கும் பரமன் உறை கோயில்
is the temple where the supreme god who removes the sins that bind the souls of devotees who worship him along with the accumulated acts and the acts yet to come and bear their fruits.

{$} திறம்தான் காட்டி யருளாய் என்றுதேவர் (அவர்) வேண்ட
when the celestials requested Civaṉ to show them the right path.
அறம்தான் காட்டி அருளிச்செய்தார் அண்ணாமலையார் (ஏ)
the god in Aṇṇāmalai who showed the righteous conducts to them
மறம் தான் கருதி; வலியை நினைந்து
thinking of his valour and thinking proudly of his strength.
மாறாய் எடுத்தான் தோள் நிறம்தான் (1) முரிய நெரிய ஊன்றி
fixing hits toe firmly to crush and bend the shoulders and chest of the arakkaṉ who lifted the mountain out of hostility
நிறைய அருள் செய்தார்
granted his grace abundantly afterwards.

{$} திருமால் பிரமன் தேவர் பெருமானைத் தேடிக்காணார்
when Tirumāl and Piramaṉ could not find the Lord of the celestials though they searched for him.
மூடி ஓங்கி முதுவேய் உகுத்த முத்தம் பல கொண்டு
gathering the many pearls that were dropped by the bamboos of mature growth which grow tall and cover the mountain.
குறவர் மடவார் கூடிக் குவித்துக்கொள்ள வம்மின் என்று
the women of the KuṟaVar tribe join together and invite people to come and purchase the pearls.
ஆடிப்பாடி அளக்கும் சாரல் அண்ணாமலையாரே
the Lord is in Aṇṇāmalai which has slopes where they measure them dancing and singing.

taking under the arm a mat.
தலையைப்பறித்து
plucking the hairs on the head.
சமணேநின்று உண்ணும் பிட்டர் சொல்லுக்கொள்ளவேண்டா
Do not heed the words of the heretics who eat standing being naked;

வட்டம் முலையாள் உமையாள் பங்கர் அட்டம் ஆளித்திரள் வந்து அணையும் அண்ணாமலையார் உறைகோயில் (1) பேணித்தொழுமின்கள்
(People of this world!) worship with love the temple of Aṇṇāmalaiyar where Civaṉ who has on his half Umayāḷ who has round breasts and which is in Aṇṇāmalai where the herd of lion reaching in a cross direction dwells;

அட்டம் வளராது நெட்ட நெடுமை கொண்டன என்றவாறு

{$} அல் ஆடு அரவம் இயங்கும் சாரல் அண்ணாமலையாரை
on the Lord in Aṇṇāmalai in whose slopes the dancing cobras move in the night.
நல்லார் பரவப் படுவான் காழி ஞானசம்பந்தன்
Campantaṉ of Kāḻi who is praised by good people.
சொல்லால் மலிந்த பாடல் ஆன இவை பத்தும் கற்றுவல்லார் எல்லாம்
all those who are able to recite having studied all these ten verses which are full of sweet words.
வானோர் வணங்க மன்னி வாழ்வாரே
will live permanently in Civalōkam the celestials to bow before them.
