has sacred ash combined along with the koṉṟai flowers of fragrance.

whose frontal eye became red with fire to destroy the beautiful from of maṭaṉaṉ (cupid)

the unequalled who at the beginning had only one form and later manifested himself into many forms.
கழல் சேர்வார் நன்று நினைந்து நாடற்கு உரியார்
who is fit for those who mediatate upon his feet, to investigate desiring eternal bliss.
தென்றி இருளில் திகைத்த கரி
the elephant which was confounded in the darkness, and strayed away

பனி மல்கும் மூது ஆர் உலகில் முனிவருடனாய் அற நான்கு அருள் செய்த காது ஆர் குழையார் வேதத்திரளர் கயிலைமலையாரே
in the world where cold is on the increase, sitting along with the company of aged sages, gave out the four objectives worthy of human pursuit beginning from aṟam, Civaṉ wears a mens' ear-ring and has the accumulation of vetams, is in Kayilaimalai.

Civaṉ has a bright arrow which is the god of fire and fixing it on the bow discharged it to burn the three cities.
எடுத்தான் திரள் தோள் முடிகள் பத்தும் இடிய விரல் வைத்தார்
fixed his toe to break the globular shoulders and the ten heads of Irāvaṇaṉ who lifted the mountain, Kayilai.
கொடுத்தார் படைகள்
gave him many weapons.
ஆளாக் கொண்டார்
admitted him as his protege.
குறுகி வரும் கூற்றைக் கடுத்து ஆங்கு அவனைக்கழலால் உதைத்தார் கயிலை மலையாரே

இங்கு மணி நாகம் பூண் நாண் ஆரமாகப் பூண்டார்
adorned himself with cobras which have shining gems as ornaments as waist cord and garlands.
புகழும் இருவர்தாம் பேணாஓடி நேட எங்கும் பிறங்கும் எரி ஆகிக் காணா வண்ணம் உயர்ந்தார் (போலும்) கயிலை மலையாரே
when those two, Māl and Piramaṉ who were praising him searched for him everywhere running without love; Civaṉ shot up high as a pillar of brilliant fire but not to be seen by them is in Kayilaimalai.

{$} விருது பகரும் வெஞ்சொல் சமணர் வஞ்சச் சாக்கியர் பொருது பகரும் மொழியைக் கொள்ளார் புகழ்வார்க்கு அணியராய்
Civaṉ being near at hand to those who praise him without minding the words spoken by the camaṇar who parade their titles and who speak harsh words, and by the deceptive cakkiyar, fighting with other religionists.
எருது ஒன்று உகைத்து இங்கு இருவார் தம்பால் இரந்து உண்டு
eating and begging food given by people who offer it, riding on a bull.
இகழ்வார்கள் கருதும் வண்ணம் உடையார் (போலும்) கயிலைமலையாரே
Civaṉ has a nature of thinking low about him by people who despise him, is in Kayilaimalai.

{$} போர் ஆர் கடலின் புனல் சூழ் காழிப் புகழ் ஆர் சம்பந்தன்
campantaṉ who has very great fame and who is a native of Kāḻi surrounded by water which is like the sea which always dashes against the shore as if fighting with it.
கார் ஆர் மேகம் குடிகொள் சாரல் கயிலை மலையார் மேல் தேரா உரைத்த செஞ்சொல் மாலை செப்பும் அடியார் மேல் வாரா பிணிகள்: வானோர் உலகில் மருவும் மனத்தாரே
diseases will not approach the devotees who always recite the garland having words in the primary significance spoken after pondering well; on Civaṉ who dwells in Kayilaimalai which is ocupied by sable clouds; they will dwell in the heaven of the celestials.
