{$} பூண்டு
having adorned himself with
பைம்மாநாகம்
a big cobra having a hood.
பல் மலர்கொன்றை
many other flowers and koṉṟai.
பன்றி வெண்கொம்பு ஒன்று
and a white hog's tusk
செம்மாந்து
elated with pride.
ஐயம் பெய்க என்று சொல்லி
saying place alms
செய்தொழில் பேணியோர் செல்வர்
the god of those who perform their duties with love.
அம்மான் நோக்கிய அம்தளிர் மேனி அரிவை ஓர்பாகம் அமர்ந்த பெம்மான்
the god who has with love a lady whose looks are like the beautiful deer and a complexion like that of tender leaves, on one half.
அல்கிய தொல் புகழாளர் பேணுபெருந்துறையார்
is Civaṉ in pēṇuperuntuṟai who has an ancient and permanent fame.

{$} மூவரும் ஆகி
being Piramaṉ, Māl and uruttiraṉ.
இருவரும் ஆகி
and being mayēccuraṉ and catāCivaṉ (becoming cakti and Civaṉ when the worlds absorbed into Civaṉ are again created)
முதல்வனுமாய் நின்ற மூர்த்தி
Civaṉ with a form who is also the paracivam who is different from them and directs them.
பாவங்கள் தீரநல்வினை நல்கி
granting his grace to do good acts in order that the sins may end.
பல்கணம் நின்று பணிய
to be worshipped by many groups of devotees.
சாவம் அது ஆகிய மால்வரை கொண்டு
with the big mountain which was improvised into a bow (சாவம்-சாபம்)
தண்மதிள் மூன்றும் எரித்ததேவர்கள் தேவர்
the superior teVar to all other teVars, who burnt all the three low forts.

{$} செய்பூங்கொன்றைற(மாலை) கூவிள மாலைசேர் சென்னியுள் புனல் சேர்த்தி
having combined the water in the head which has already knitted garlands of beautiful koṉṟai flowers and bael leaves.
கொய்பூங்கோதை மாது உமை பாகம் கூடி
joined with the half of Umai who wears a garland made of plucked flowers.
ஓர் பீடுஉடைவேடர்
who has a form which has unique greatness.
கைபோல் நான்ற கனிகுலை வாழை காய்குலையில் கமுகு ஈன
the areca-palm puts forth cluster of fruits in the ripe plantain cluster of fruits which hang like the trunk of elephants.
பெய்பூம்பாளை பாய்ந்து இழிதேறல் பில்கு பெருந்துறையார்
that Civaṉ is in peruntuṟai where the honey flower in the beautiful spathe and descends down and increases.

{$} நிலனொடு வானும் நீரொடு தீயும் வாயுவும் ஆகி ஓர் ஐந்து புலனொடு வென்று பொய்ம்மைகள் தீர்ந்த புண்ணியர்
Civaṉ, the embodiment of all virtues who is free from all falsehood, has gained victory over the five senses and who is the earth, space, water, fire and air.
வெண்பொடிப்பூசி
having smeared themselves with white holy ash.
நலனொடு தீங்குதான் அலது இன்றி
thinking always that there is no other person except Civaṉ who is good and bad.
நன்கு எழுசிந்தையர் ஆகி
having a mind which holds firmly the feet of Civaṉ.
மலனொடு மாசும் இல்லவர் வாழும் மல்கு பெருந்துறையார்
is in peruntuṟai of increasing fame where people who have no spiritual and physical impurities live.

தழைஆர்மாவின் தாழ்கனி உந்தி
pushing the low-hanging fruits of the mango trees which are full of foliage.
குழை ஆர்சோலை மென்னடை அன்னம் கூடுபெருந்துறையார்
is in peruntuṟai where the female swans of gentle and graceful gaint are united with their males in the gardens of tender leaves.

{$} பணிவாய் உள்ள, நன்கு எழு நாவின் பத்தர்கள்
the pious people with their humble tongues and from which good things come.
பத்திமை செய்யத் துணியார்
Civaṉ will not think of leaving them, when they cherish him with devotions.
தங்கள் உள்ளம் இலாத சுமடர்கள் சோதிப்பு அரியார்
is difficult to be tested by ignorant and illiterate persons who have no control over their minds.
அணி ஆர் நீலம் ஆகிய கண்டர்
has a neck which is like the beautiful sapphire.
அரிசில் உரிஞ்சு கரைமேல் மலர் வாய் நீலம் வாய் கமழ் தேறல் மல்கு பெருந்துறையார்
is in peruntuṟai where the fragrant honey in the blue nelumbo flowers which are like sapphire growing on the banks of the river, aricil, which erodes its banks.

{$} எண்ணார் தங்கள் மும் மதிள் வேவ ஏவலம் காட்டிய எந்தை
our father who exhibited his skill in archery in order to burn the three forts of the enemies.
விண்ணோர் சாரத்தன் அருள் செய்த வித்தகர்
the able god who granted his grace when the celestials approached him.

ஓர் பாகம் பெண் ஆண் ஆய வார் சடை அண்ணல்
the chief who is one half male and the other half female.
பண் ஆர் பாடல் ஆடல் அறாத பேணு பெருந்துறையார்
is in pēṇuperuntuṟai where songs with seven scales of music and dance never cease.

{$} விழை ஆர் உள்ளம்
with a loving mind.
நன்கு எழு நாவில் வேதம் ஆறு அங்கம் பிழையா வண்ணம் வினை கெடப் பண்ணிய ஆற்னால்
by the manner in which the four vētams and six aṅkams are chanted by the tongue which talks good words, without any mistakes, to destroy the Karmams.
பெரியோர் ஏத்தும் பெருமான்
the god whom great people praise.
தண் அரிசில்
the cool river, aricil
புடை சூழ்ந்து
surrounding small side.
தழை ஆர் மாவின் தாழ்கனி உந்தி

{$} பொன் அம்கானல் வெண்திரை சூழ்ந்த பொருகடல் வேலி இலங்கை மன்னன் ஒல்க மால்வரை ஊன்றி
pressing under the great mountain, the king of ilaṅkai girt on all sides by the ocean which dashes against the shore by its white-crested waves spreading everywhere and has a beautiful sea-shore garden.
மாமுரன் ஆகமும் தோளும் அவைமுன் வாட்டி
destroying first the chest of great strength and shoulders.
பின் அருள்செய்த மூஇலை வேல் உடை மூர்த்தி
Civaṉ, having a trident of three blades, granted his grace after that.
அன்னம் கன்னிப் பேடைமொடு ஆடி அணவு பெருந்துறையார்
is in peruntuṟai where the male swan is united with the young female swan, after having played with it.

{$} புள்வாய் போழ்ந்து
having split the beak of the crane
மாநிலம் கீண்ட பொருகடல் வண்ணனும்
Māl who has blue complexion of the sea that dashes against the shore, and who cleft the great earth.
பூவின் உள்வாய் அல்லிமேல் உறைவானும்
and Piramaṉ who dwells in the inner petals of the lotus which are found inside.
உணர்வு அரியான்
could not know him!
உமைகேள்வன்
the husband of Umai.
முள்வாய் தாளின் தாமரை மொட்டின் முகம் மலரக்கயல்பாய
when the carp fish leaps to open the petals of the buds of the lotus which has a thormy stem.
கள்வாய் நீலம் கண்மலர் ஏய்க்கும் காமர் பெருந்துறையார்
is in beautiful peruntuṟai where the blue nelumbo flowers resemble the eyes which are comparable to flowers.

the low amaṇar,
கூறைகளைந்தும்
discarding wearing cloth
தேரும்
and the buddhists.
கூப்பிலர்செப்பிலராகி
without doing obeisance to Civaṉ with joined hands and without praising him.
மீண்டும் மிண்டர் மிண்டவைகண்டு மிண்டு செயாது விரும்பும்
desire without indulging in mischief even after seeing the mischief of the ignoramus who are vain people.
தண்டும் பாம்பும் வெண்தலை சூலம் தாங்கிய தேவர்தலைவர்
the chief of the celestials who carries a club, a cobra, a white skull and a trident.
வண்டும் தேனும் வாழ்பொழில் சோலை மல்கு பெருந்துறையார்
Civaṉ is in peruntuṟai which has parks and gardens which are flourishing and in which different species of bees live.

{$} கடை ஆர் மாடம் நன்(கு) கெழுவீதிக் கழுமலவூரன் கலந்து நடை ஆர் இன்சொல் ஞானசம்பந்தன்
ñāṉacampantaṉ who has sweet words of good style, his mind being united with Civaṉ, and who is a native of Kaḻumalam which has beautiful streets of storeys having artistic entrances.
நல்லபெருந்துறைமேய படை ஆர் சூலம் வல்லவன் பாதம் பரவிய பத்து இவை வல்லார்
those who are able to recite these ten verses with which he praised the feet of Civaṉ who can wield the weapon of a trident and who is in good peruntuṟai.
உடையார் ஆகி
possessing all kinds of riches.
உள்ளமும் ஒன்றி
with concentration of mind.
எலகினில் மன்னுவர் (தாம், ஏ)
will remain in this world with the body physical body and they will be living even after that as their fame is undying.
