{$} சீர் அணி திகழ் திருமார்பில் வெண்ணூலர்
Civaṉ wears a white sacred thread in his beautiful chest in which eminent ornaments shine.
திரிபுரம் எரிசெய்த செல்வர்
the god who burnt the three cities.
வார் அணி வனம்முலை மங்கை ஓர் பங்கர்
has on one half a young lady who wears on his beautiful breast a bodice.
மான் மறி ஏந்திய மைந்தர்
the strong youth who holds a young deer.
கார் அணிமணிதிகழ்மிடறு உடைஅண்ணல்
the chief who has a neck which shines like the sapphire and made beautiful by the black poison

Civaṉ who has a frontal eye.
பார் அணி திகழ்தரு நான்மறையாளர், விண்ணவர் ஏத்தும் பாம்புர நன்னகரார்
is in the good city of pāmpuram which is praised by the celestials and the brahmins who have learnt the four vetams and who are ornaments to this world.

{$} கொக்கு இறகோடு கூவிளம் மத்தம் கொன்றையொடு எருக்கு அணி சடையர்
Civaṉ adorns his caṭai with a flower resembling cranes feather, bael, datura-flowers, koṉṟai and yarcum.
அக்கினோடு ஆமை பூண்டு அழகாக அனல்அது ஆடும் எம் அடிகள்
our god who dances in fire, having adorned himself beautifully with bones and the shell of a tortoise.
மிக்கநல்வேதவேள்வியுள் எங்கும் விண்ணவர் விரைமலர் தூவ
the celestials to scatter fragrant flowers everywhere in places where good sacrifices ordained in the vētams are performed.
பக்கம் பல்பூதம் பாடிடவருவார் பாம்புர நன்னகரார்
is in the good city of pāmpuram where by his sides many pūtams sing.

{$} துன்னலின் ஆடை உடுத்து அதன்மேல் ஓர் சூறை நல் அரவு அது சுற்றி
wearing a mens' loin-cloth and encircling upon it a cobra which lives on air as its food.
பின்னுவார் சடைகள் தாழவிட்டு ஆடிப்பித்தராய்த்திரியும் எம்பெருமான்
our Lord who wanders like a mad person dancing, letting down the long and matted caṭai to hang low.
மன்னுமா மலர்கள் தூவிட மாமலையாட்டியும் தாமும் பன்னும் நான்மறைகள் பாடிடவருவார் பாம்புரநன்னகரார்
Civaṉ who comes himself and the daughter of the mountain for the devotees to sing the four vētams which praise him, to be worshipped by them by scattering big flowers always daily.

{$} துஞ்சும் நாள் துறந்து தோற்றமும் இல்லாச் சுடர்விடு சோதி எம்பெருமான்
our Lord who has no birth and no death and the light that blazes forth light.
நஞ்சு சேர் கண்டம் உடைய என்நாதர்
my master who has a neck in which there is poison.
நள்ளிருள் நடம் செயும் நம்பர்
Civaṉ who dances at midnight.
மஞ்சு தோய் சோலை மாமயில் ஆட
when the great peacocks dance in the gardens which the clouds approach.
மாடமாளிகை தன்மேல் ஏறி
ascending up the mansions which have storeys.
பஞ்சுசேர் மெல்லடிப்பாவையர் பயிலும் பாம்புர நன்னகரார்
is in the good city of pāmpuram where beautiful ladies who have soft feet painted with a dye prepared from red cotton practise dance.

{$} நதியதன் அயலே நகுதலை மாலை நாள்மதி சடைமிசை அணிந்து
having adorned on the caṭai the third phase of the moon and a garland of laughing skull by the side of the river (Kaṅkai)
கதியது ஆகக் காளிமுன் காணக் கானிடை நடம்செய்த கருத்தர்
god who danced in the cremation-ground to be witnessed by kāḷi, it being the swift movement of dance.
விதியது வழுவா வேதியர் வேள்விசெய்தவர் ஓத்து ஒலி ஓவாய் பதியது ஆக
it being the place where the sound of the vētams recited by brahmins who performed sacrifices and who do not err from prescribed conduct.
பாவையும் தாமும் பாம்புரநன்னகரார்
himself and the beautiful lady dwell in the good city of pāmpuram.

the unequalled one who is the spiritual wisdom to those who studied religious works and well understood their meaning.
ஒளிதிகழ் உருவம்சேர் ஒருவர்
the peerless god who has a brilliant body.
மாதினை இடமாவைத்த எம்வள்ளல்
god of unbounded liberality who placed a lady on the left side.
மான்மறி ஏந்திய மைந்தர்
the strong god who held a young deer (in his hand)
ஆதி! நீ அருள் என்று அமரர்கள் பணிய
when the immortals bowed before him saying, the origin of all things! grant your grace'
அலைகடல்கடைய அன்று எழுந்த பாதி வெண்பிறை சடை வைத்த எம்பரமர்
our superior god who placed on his caṭai the white crescent of the eight-phase which rose in the past in the roaming ocean of milk which was churned.

having given religious instruction to four sages under the banyan tree.
அனல் அது ஆடும் எம் அடிகள்

காமனைப் பொடிபடநோக்கி
fixing his gaze on Kāmaṉ to reduce him to ashes.
தம்கழல் அடியால் காலனைக் காய்ந்து பாலனுக்கு அருள்கள் செய்த எம் அடிகள்
our god who granted his graces to the boy (Mārkkaṇṭēyaṉ) having destroyed the god of death with his foot wearing Kaḻal.

when the strong arakkaṉ who burst into a rage lifted the mountain, Kayilai

மெல்லிய திருவிரல் ஊன்றி அடர்த்து
pressing the soft and sacred toe and crushing him.

அனல் அது ஆடும் எம் அண்ணல்
our chief who dances in fire.
மடக்கொடியவர்கள் வருபுனல் ஆடவந்து இழிஅரிசிலின் கரைமேல்
on the bank of the river, aricil which flows for the young ladies to bathe in the arriving freshes.
படப்பையில் கொணர்ந்து பகுமணி சிந்தும் பாம்புரநன்னகரார்
is in the good city of pāmpuram where large pearls are scattered, in the gardens bringing them with it.

{$} கடிபடு கமலத்து அயனொடு மாலும் காதலோடு அடிமுடி தேட
when Ayaṉ (Piramaṉ) who is seated in the fragrant lotus, and Māl were searching with zeal the feet and head.
செடிபடுவினைகள் தீர்த்து அருள் செய்யும் தீவணர் எம்முடைச் செல்வர்
our god who has the colour of fire and who grants his grace removing the sins that are crowded like a wild bush.
முடியுடை அமரர் முனிகணத்தவர்கள் முறைமுறை அடிபணிந்து ஏத்த
to be praised by the immortals who wear crowns and the groups of sages, in the proper order.
படி அது ஆகப்பாவையும் தாகமும் பாம்புர நன்னகரார்
himself and the beautiful day are in a fit condition in the good city of pāmpuram.

{$} குண்டர் சாக்கியரும் குணம் இலாதவரும் குற்றுவிட்டு உடுக்கையர் தாமும்
the low cākkiyar who have no good qualities and camaṇar who dress scantily.
கண்டவாறு உரைத்து
talking as they know.
கால் நிமிர்/த்து உண்ணும் கையர்தாம் உள்ளவாறு அறியார்
the mean people who eat stretching their feet do not know the truth as it is
வண்டுசேர் குழலி மலைமகள் நடுங்க வாரணம் உரி செய்து போர்த்தார்
Civaṉ covered himself flaying the elephant to frighten the daughter of the mountain whose tresses of hair bees reach.
பண்டு நாம் செய்த பாவங்கள் தீர்ப்பார்
will destroy the sins committed by us in previous births.
பாம்புர நன்னகரார்

{$} பார் மலிந்து ஓங்கிப் பருமதில் சூழ்ந்த பாம்பர நன்னகராரை
about Civaṉ in the good city of pāmpuram surrounded by a big fortified wall and being eminent by its fame in this world.
கார் மலிந்து அழகுஆர் கழனி சூழ் மாடக் கழுமலமுதுபதிக் கவுணி
one who was born in the Kountinya Kōttiram in the ancient town of Kaḻumalam which has storeys and beautiful fields in which the paddy Kār is abundantly produced.
(1) நார்மலிந்து ஓங்கு நான்மறைஞானசம்பந்தன் செந்தமிழ் வல்லார்
those whose are able to recite the verses of refined tamiḻ done by ñāṉacampantaṉ who has knowledge of the four vetams and who has abundant love and there by eminent.
சீர்மலிந்து அழகு ஆர் செல்வம் அது ஓங்கி
their fame will become great and their wealth which adds beauty to them will increase.
சிவன் அடி நண்ணுவர்(தாம், ஏ)
will attain the feet of Civaṉ.
