கல்லால் நிழற்கீழ் வாடாமுலை மங்கையும் தானும் மகிழ்ந்து ஈடா உறைகின்ற இடைமருது ஈதோ

when the devotees bathe Civaṉ carrying on the beautiful heads which are wearing lotus which grow in the tanks, cool water filled in pots.
படம் கொண்டது ஓர் பாம்பு அரை ஆர்த்த பரமன் இடம் கொண்டு இருந்தான் தன் இடைமருது ஈதோ
is this place iṭaimarutu where the supreme god who tied cobra with hood in the waist dwelt having this as his cherished place?

பொங்காவரு காவிரிக் கோலக்கரைமேல் எம்கோன் உறைகின்ற இடைமருது ஈதோ

pushing beautiful ornaments for which there is no end.
கந்தம் கமழ் காவிரிக்கோலக்கரைமேல் வெந்த பொடிப்பூசிய வேதமுதல்வன் எந்தை உறைகின்ற இடைமருது ஈதோ
is this place iṭaimarutu on the beautiful bank of the Kāviri which spreads fragrance, where the origin of all vetams, Civaṉ, who smeared himself with well-burnt holy ash, dwells?

தேசம் புகுந்து ஈண்டி
the people of the Tamiḻ country enter into and crowd.
ஓர் செம்மை உடைத்தாய்
and attain excellence.
பூசம் புகுந்து ஆடிப்பொலிந்து அழகாய ஈசன் உறைகின்ற இடைமருது ஈதோ
is this place iṭaimarutu, where Civaṉ dwells, after becoming beautiful bathing in the Kāviri in the star, pūcam

Having tied a young cobra living in the strong ant-hill.
அழகாக என்பிற் பலமாலையும் பூண்டு
adorning himself beautifully with many garlands of bones.

and riding on a bull.
அன்பின் பிரியாதவளோடும் உடனாய் இன்புற்றிருந்தான் தன் இடைமருது ஈதோ
is this place iṭaimarutu where Civaṉ dwelt happily in the company of Umai who is not separate from him because of love?

{$} தேக்கும் திமிலும் பலவும் சுமந்து உந்திப் போக்கிப்புறம் பூசல் அடிப்ப வரும் ஆர்க்கும் திரைக்காவிரிக் கோலக்கரைமேல்
on the beautiful bank of the Kāviri which has roaring waves which dash upon the banks and throwing on both the banks teak wood, east indian kino tree and jack trees, carrying and pushing them.
ஏற்க இருந்தான் தன் இடைமருது ஈதோ
is this place iṭaimarutu where Civaṉ stayed suited to that place?

{$} பூ ஆர் குழலார் அகில்கொண்டு புகைப்ப
when the ladies who adorn their tresses of hair with flowers worship Civaṉ with the smoke of the eagle-wood tree.
ஓவாது அடியார் (1) அடி உள் குளிர்ந்து ஏத்த
and when devotees praise him pleased in their minds, without ceasing.
(2) ஆவா அரக்கன்றனை ஆற்றல் அழித்த ஏ ஆர் சிலையான் தன் இடைமருது ஈதோ
is this place iṭaimarutu of Civaṉ who is seated in (Kayilai) mountain, near which are piled great boulders, and alas! who destroyed the strength of the arakkaṉ (Irāvaṇaṉ)

Māl along with Ayaṉ who is seated in a good lotus to praise him with love.
பொன் தோளியும் தானும் பொலிந்து அழகாக உறைகின்ற இடைமருது ஈதோ
is this place iṭaimarutu where Civaṉ and umai with shining shoulders dwell appearing grant and beautiful?

and the small group of camaṇar talk slanderous words.
நெறியே பல பத்தர்கள் கைதொழுது ஏத்த
and many pious people praise Civaṉ with joined hands, in the proper manner.
வெறியாவரு காவிரிக் கோலக்கரைமேல் எறி ஆர் மழுவாளன் இடைமருது ஈதோ
is this place iṭaimarutu of Civaṉ who has a battle axe to be thrown on enemies, which is on the beautiful bank of the Kāviri which brings floods with fury?

Ñāṉacampantaṉ of Kāḻi whose fame has spread everywhere, and extensive in are

எண் ஆர் புகழ் எந்தை இடைமருதின் மேல்
on Iṭaimarutu of our father who has fame which has to be meditated upon.
பண்ணோடு இசை பாடிய பத்தும் வல்லார்கள்
those who are capable of reciting the ten verses with music and in a particular melody-type.
விண்ணோர் உலகத்தினில் வீற்றிருப்பார் (ஏ)
they will be seated majestically in the world belonging to celestials.
