those who have the nature of worshipping with hands joined Kuraṅkaṇil muṭṭam surrounded by fields having fertile water in which the carp leaps to make the blue nelumbo and shining blue indian water lily, to blossom

தீது உறு துன்பம் இலரே
will not have sufferings which are the result of single deeds.

{$} விடை சேர் கொடி அண்ணல்
the god who has a flag on which is drawn the from of a bull.
விளங்கும் மாடக் கடைசேர் கருமென் (1) குளத்து ஓங்கிய காட்டில்
in the forest which is eminent by a tank of black and soft water which is adjoining the back entrance of the shining mansions.
குடைஆர் புனல் மல்கு குரங்கணில் முட்டம் உடையான்
Civaṉ who has Kuraṅkaṇil muṭṭam which has increasing water in which people dive and plunge, as his shrine.
எனை ஆள் உடை(ய) எந்தை பிரானே
is our father and master who admitted me as his slave.

{$} சூலப்படையான் விடையான் சுடுநீற்றான்
Civaṉ has a trident, a bull and smears well-burnt sacred ash.
காலன்தன்னை ஆருயிர் வவ்விய காலன்
took away the precious life of the Kālaṉ (god of death) by kicking him with his leg.
கோலப்பொழில் சூழ்ந்த குரங்கணில் முட்டத்து ஏலம் கமழ் புன்சடை எந்தை பிரானே
is our father and master who has a caṭai from which the urgent for perfuming the hair spreads and who dwells in Kuraṅkuṇil muṭṭam, surrounded by beautiful gardens.

{$} வாடா விரிகொன்றை வலத்து ஒருகாதில் தோடுஆர் குழையான்
Civaṉ wears blossomed koṉṟai flowers which never fade, and a womens' ear-ring on the left ear and on the right a mens' ear-ring.
நலபாலனம் நோக்கி
having in his mind protecting me well.
காடாதன செய்த குரங்கணில் முட்டம் ஆடாவருவார் (அவர்) அன்பு உடையாரே
the god who cames dancing in Kuraṅku aṇil muṭṭam who does acts which others are incapable of doing, has love towards me.

கறையார் மிடற்றான்
Civaṉ has a neck in which there is poison.
கரிகீறிய கையான்
tore and elephant with his hands (flaying an elephant was play for Civaṉ is the idea)
குறையார் மதிசூடி
wears a crescent.
குரங்கணில் முட்டத்து உறைவான் எமை ஆள் உடை(ய) ஒண்சுடரானே
is the bright light that dwells in Kuraṅku aṇil muṭṭam, has us as his slaves.

{$} கலவம் மயில் காமுறு பெடையொடு ஆடிக் குலவும் பொழில் சுழ்ந்த குரங்கணில் முட்டம் நிலவும் பெருமான் அடிநித்தல் நினைந்தே
meditating daily on the feet of the Lord who is permanent is Kuraṅku aṇil muṭṭam surrounded by gardens where the male peacocks of long tails dance with their females and rejoice.
பலவும் பயன் உள்ளன பற்றும் ஒழிந்தோம்
we left off attachments towards many things which are useful, which are difficult to leave off.

{$} மாடு ஆர் மலர்க்கொன்றை வார் சடை வைத்து
wearing the koṉṟai flowers which are yellow like gold, in the growing caṭai.
தோடு ஆர் குழைதான் ஒரு (1) காதில் இலங்கு
a women's ear-ring and a fitting mens' ear-ring to shine in each ear.
கூடார் மதில்எய்து
shooting an arrow on the forts of the enemies.
குரங்கு அணில் முட்டத்து ஆடுஆர் அரவம்(ம்) அரை ஆர்த்து அமர்வானே
Civaṉ will stay with desire in Kuraṅku aṇil muṭṭam tying a dancing cobra as a waist-cord in the waist.

{$} மை ஆர்நிறம் மேனி அரக்கர்தம் கோனை உய்யா வகையால் அடர்த்து
pressing down the King of the arakkar, whose body was as black as the dark cloud, so that he could not escape.
இன்னருள் செய்த கொய் ஆர் மலர் சூடிதன் குரங்கணில் முட்டம் கையால் தொழுவார் வினை காண்டல் அரிதே
the acts of those who worship with hands joined Kuraṅku aṇil muṭṭam of civan who wears flowers that are plucked and afterwards granted his benign grace to Irāvaṇaṉ will not be visible, (will vanish)

{$} வெறிஆர் மலர்த் தாமரையானொடு மாலும்

அறியாது அசைந்து ஏத்த ஓர் ஆர் அழலாகும் குறியால் நிமிர்ந்தான் தன் குரங்கணில் முட்டம் நெறியால் தொழுவார்
those who worshiup in the proper manner the shrine Kuraṅkaṇil muṭṭam of Civaṉ who stood high in the form of an unbearable column of fire, to be praised by both of them who could not know him, and feeling exhaused.
வினைநிற்க (1) கில்லவே
the acts of those people will not have the ability to ramain with them.

{$} கழுவார் வழுவாச்சமண்
the camaṇar who never in their religious observances and do not clean their bodies by bath.
துவர் ஆடை கலந்து மெய் போர்க்கும் சாக்கியர் வாக்கு அவை கொள்ளேல்
(People of this world) Do not accept as truth the words of the cākkiyar who cover their bodies with a cloth soaked in red ochre.
குழுமின் சடை அண்ணல் குரங்கு அணில் முட்டத்து எழில் வெண்பிறையான் அடிசேர்வது இயல்பே
it is proper behavious to approach the feet of Civaṉ who wears a beautiful crescent and who is in Kuraṅku aṇil muṭṭam belonging to the god who has a caṭai resembling a collection of lightning.

{$} கொல்ஆர் மழு ஏந்தி குரங்கு அணில் முட்டம்
on Kuraṅku aṇil muṭṭam of Civaṉ who holds a battle-axe capable of killing.
கல் ஆர் மதில் காழியுள் ஞானசம்பந்தன் சொல் ஆர் தமிழ்மாலை செவிக்கு இனிதாக வல்லார்க்கு
to those who can recite, pleasing to ear, the garland of tamiḻ verses containing beautiful words by ñāṉacampantaṉ of Kāḻi which has a wall of fortification built with stones.
பிறவா வகை வீடு எளிதுஆம்
salvation which is the cause of not being born again, is easy.
