my mind!
முந்தி நின்ற வினைகள் அவைபோக, சிவனார் திருப்புன்கூர் சிந்தி
Think of tiruppuṉkūr of Civaṉār, so that accumulated karmams and karmas done in the present birth and yet to bear their fruits in future births may go away from you.
அந்தம் இல்லா அடிகள் அவர் (போலும்) கந்தம் மல்கு கமழ் புன்சடையார்
the god who does ot know death is the Lord who has golden matted hairs which is naturally fragrant and the fragrance increases due to the flowers worn on it.

{$} மூவர் ஆய முதல்வர்
He is the chief besides being the trinity of Piramaṉ, Māl and uruttiraṉ
முறையாலே தேவர் எல்லாம் வணங்கும் திருப்புன்கூர் அடிகள் ஆவர் என்னும் அவர் (போலும்) ஏவின் அல்லார் எயில் மூன்று எரித்தார்
the god who is said to be the deity dwelling in tiruppuṉkūr and who is worshipped by all the teVar in the proper manner is he who burnt the three forts of the enemies with a single arrow.

{$} பங்கயங்கள் மலரும் பழனத்து
in the fields where lotus flowers blossom.
செங்கயல்கள் திளைக்கும் திருப்புன்கூர்
in tiruppuṉkūr where red carp fish are found playing always.
கங்கை தங்கு சடையார் அவர் (போலும்) எங்கள் உச்சி உறையும் இறையார்
the god on whose matted hair the Kaṅkai stays is the Lord who dwells on the crown of our head.

{$} கரை உலாவு கதிர் மாமணி, முத்தம், திரை உலாவு வயல் சூழ் திருப்புன்கூர் உரையின் நல்ல பெருமான் அவர் (போலும்)
the great one who is well-known by his fame and who dwells in tiruppuṉkūr surrounded by fields where along with the waves pearls and big precious stones shedding light move about on the banks.
விரையின் நல்ல மலர்ச் சேவடியார்
has red feet on which are strewn flowers of good fragrance.

{$} பவள வண்ணப் பரிசு ஆம் திருமேனி திகழும் வண்ணம் உறையும் திருப்புன்கூர், அழகர் என்னும் அடிகள் அவர் (போலும்)
the god who is praised as the beautiful one who dwells in tiruppuṉkūr so that his sacred form which is like the colour of the coral might shine well.
புகழ நின்ற புரி புன்சடையார்
is the god with a twisted golden matted hair, praised by all.

{$} தெரிந்து இலங்கு கழுநீர் வயற்செந்நெல் திருந்த நின்றவயல் சூழ் திருப்புன்கூர்ப் பொருந்தி நின்ற அடிகள் (அவர்)
the god who dwells in tiruppuṉkūr, choosing it as an eminent shrine for him, where in the fields purple indian water lilies are prominent to attract the attention of people, and red paddy crop which has become ready for harvest.
விரிந்து இலங்கு சடை வெண்பிறையார்
is the one who adorns on his shrining and spreading matted hair a white crescent.

{$} பாரும் விண்ணும் பரவித் தொழுது ஏத்தும் தேர்கொள் வீதி விழவுஆர் திருப்புன்கூர்
in tiruppuṉkūr where in the streets car festival is conducted, which is worshipped and praised by the people of this world and the celestial world.
ஆர நின்ற அடிகள் அவர் (போலும்) கூர நின்ற எயில் மூன்று எரித்தார்
the god who is suitable to that place is the one who burnt the three forts in which cruelty stayed permanently.

{$} மலை (அது) அனார் உடைய மதில்மூன்றும் சிலையதனால் எரித்தவர் திருப்புன்கூர்த்தலைவர்
the Lord in tiruppuṉkūr who burnt the three cities of the enemies who were as strong as mountains, with a bow.
வல்ல அரக்கன் தருக்கினை மலையதனால் அடர்த்து மகிழ்ந்தார்
he felt joy in having removed the pride of the strong arakkaṉ by the mountain (of Kailācam)

{$} நாடவல்ல மலரான் மாலுமாயத் தேடநின்றார் உறையும் திருப்புன்கூர் ஆடவல்ல அடிகள் அவர் (போலும்)
the god who can dance in tirupuṉkūr where he dwells; and who stood as a column of fire to be searched by the Piramaṉ on the lotus flower and Māl, who were skilled in searching for him
[[நாடவல்ல: this epithet denotes that Piramaṉ was in a better position to search as he had four faces]]
பாடல் ஆடல் பயிலும் பரமர்
is the supreme one who practises singing and dancing.

{$} குண்டுமுற்றி
Being at the summit of mean character
கூறைஇன்றி
and having discarded dress (being naked)

பிண்டம் உண்ணும் பிராந்தர் சொற்கொளேல்
Do not pay heed to the words of the mad men who eat balls of cooked rice being particular about them.
வண்டு பாட மலர் ஆர் திருப்புன்கூர்க் கபாலிவேடம் கண்டு தொழுமின்
(People of this world!) worship with joined hands the Lord Kapāli in tiruppuṉkūr where the flowers open their petals as the bees hum.

{$} சேடர் செல்வர் உறையும் திருப்புன்கூர்
on tiruppuṉkūr where great men and wealthy persons dwell.
மாடம் மல்கு மதில் சூழ் காழியுள் நாடவல்ல ஞானசம்பந்தன்
composed by ñāṉacampantaṉ who is a native of Kāḻi surrounded by walls of enclosure where there are many storeys, and who is capable of seeking god earnestly.
பாடல் பத்தும் பரவி வாழ்மின்
Live happily by praising God with these ten verses.
