the youths who are happy in the company of young girls who are full of love in their hearts, scatter flowers and a result of that act get wealth.
சங்கக்கடல் வங்கத்திரள் உந்தி
the sea with conches pushes the fleet of ships.
சினம் ஆர்தரு திறல் வாள் எயிற்று அரக்கன் மிகு குன்றில்
in the superior Kuṉṟaḷūr which belongs to the arakkaṉ, itumpaṉ, who has teeth like the sword, valour, and a mind full of anger.
இனம் மாதவர் இறைவர்க்கு இடம் இடும்பாவனம் இது (ஏ)
this is Itumpāvaṉam which is the place of Civaṉ who is the Lord of the assembly of sages.

the supreme spotless Civaṉ who is permanent, feeling happy in having on one half the daughter of the mountain.
வலி நிலவும் புகழ் ஒளிசேர்(குன்றில்)
(in the hill) which has strength, undying fame and brilliance.
கலை ஆர்தரு புலவோர்(அவர்) காவல் மிகு குன்றில்
in the hill which is guarded heavily by the poets who have studied the arts.
இலை ஆர்தரு பொழில் சூழ்தரும் இடும்பாவனம் இது (ஏ)
this is Iṭumpāvaṉam which is surrounded by gardens full of foliage.

our father whom the devotees who have good conduct think of, and wake up from sleep.
ஞாலம் மிகு கடல் சூழ்தரும் உலகத்தவர் நயம் ஆர்கோலம் மிகும் மலர்மென்முலை மடவார்மிகு குன்றில்
in the hill where ladies who have soft breasts like the lotus flower, and beauty which is increasing and males of this world, which is surrounded by the ocean whose area is more than that of the earth, crowd to attain salvation.

at that time when the plantain gardens appear beautiful with clusters of fruits.
தொழிலால் மிகு தொண்டரவர் தொழுது ஆடிய மூன்றில் குழல் ஆர் தரும் அலர் மென்முலை மடவார் மிகு குன்றில்
n the hill which has a frontyard where the ladies who have flowers tucked in their tresses of hairs and soft breasts, and the devotees who excel in their service to god worship him and dance out of ecstasy.
எழில் ஆர்தரு இறைவர்க்கு இடம் இடும்பாவனம் இதுவே(ஏ)
Iṭumpāvaṉam which is the place for the Lord who is exceedingly beautiful.

to be praised by devotees as Civaṉ who has Umayāl who holds a ball in her hand, as one half! our father who has Kaṅkai on his head!'
செந்தாமரை மலர் மல்கிய செழுநீர் வயற்கரைமேல்
on the ridges of the fields which has fertile water in which the red lotus flower grows in abundance.
கொந்துஆர் (1) மலர்ப்புன்னை, மகிழ், குரவம், கமழ் குன்றில்
in the hill where the mast-wood tree which has bunches of flowers, pointed leaved ape-flowertrees and bottle-flower trees spread their fragrance.
இருந்தான் இடம் இடும்பாவனம் இது (ஏ)
this is Iṭumpāvaṉam where Civaṉ resides.

{$} நெறி நீர்மையர், நீள் வானவர், நினையும் நினைவாகி
being the object of meditation to the tall celestials and sages who follow the rightous path.
அறிநீர்மையில் எய்தும்(ம்) அவர்க்கு அறியும் அறிவு அருளி
granting the spiritual wisdom to those who realize Civaṉ and approach him in the proper way to know him.
குறிநீர்மையர் (1) குணம் ஆர்தருமணம் ஆர்தரு குன்றில்
in the hill which is full of fragrance which causes the devotees whose aim is to obtain vision of god, to experience all his qualities.
எறி நீர் வயல்புடை சூழ்தரும் இடும்பாவனம் இது (ஏ)
this is Itumpāvaṉam which is surrounded on all sides by fields where water dashes against the ridges by its waves.

Civaṉ who smears sumptuously with sacred ash all over his holy body.
நிலவும் உலகு எல்லாம்
in all the existing worlds.
பாறு ஏறிய படுவெண்தலை கையிற் பலி (1) வாங்கா
receiving alms in the dead white skull on which kites settle holding it in his hand.
கூறு ஏறிய மடவாளொரு பாகம் மகிழ்வு எய்தி
feeling happy by keeping on one half a young lady as a part.
ஏறு ஏறிய இறைவற்கு இடம் இடும்பாவனம் இது (ஏ)
this is Itumpāvaṉam, the place of the Lord who rides on a bull.

{$} தேர் ஆர்தரு திகழ் வாள் எயிற்று அரக்கன் சிவன் மலையை ஓராது எடுத்து ஆர்த்தான் முடி ஒரு பஃது (அவை) நெரித்து
crushing the ten heads of the arakkaṉ who was riding on a chariat and had shining teeth like swords as he lifted without any thought the mountain and roared out of joy.
கூர் ஆர்தரு கொலை வாளொடு குண நாமமும் கொடுத்த ஏர் ஆர்தரும் இறைவர்க்கு இட்டி இடும்பாவனம் இது(ஏ)
this is Iṭumpāvaṉam for the beautiful Lord who gave the name and a sword which is sharp and capable of killing enemies as he wept.

{$} பொருள் ஆர்தரு மறையோர் புகழ் விருத்தர் பொலி மலி சீர்த்தெருள் ஆர்தரு சிந்தையொடு சந்தம் (ம்) மலர் பல தூய்
the brahmins who studied the vētams full of abstruse meanings and those who have excessive fame, scattering beautiful flowers, with a clear mind, by which they shine and have great renown (worship Civaṉ).
மருள் ஆர்தரு மாயன்(ன்) அயன் காணார் மயர்வு எய்த
Māyaṉ (Tirumāl) and Ayaṉ who have great ignorance to be bewildered as they could not obtain vision of Civaṉ
இருள் ஆர்தரு கண்டர்க்கு இடம் இடும்பாவனம் இது (ஏ)
this is Iṭumpāvaṉam which is the place for Civaṉ who has a very dark neck.

{$} தடுக்கை உடன் இடுக்கித் தலைபறித்துச் (1) சமண் நடப்பார்
those who follow camaṇ plucking the hairs on the head and taking a mat under their armpit.
உடுக்கை பல துவர்க் கூறைகள் உடம்பு இட்டு உழல்வாரும்
and the buddhists who put on their bodies many dresses as robes soaked in red ochre (to indulge in slander).
மடுக்கள் மலர் வயல் சேர்செந்நெல்மலி நீர்மலர்க் கரைமேல் (இடும்பாவனம்)
iṭumpāvaṉam which is on the banks which have plenty of water and deep tanks and extensive fields in which red Variety of paddy is grown.
இடுக்கண் பல களைவானிடம் இடும்பாவனம் இது (ஏ)
this is iṭumpāvaṉam the place of Civaṉ who weeds out many sufferings to his devotees.

about the Lord in iṭumpāvaṉam where the sea falls at the feet of the Lord and strikes against the beautiful shore in Kuṉṟaḷūr which has tall storeys in which flags are flying.
அடிஆயும் அந்தணர்காழியுள் அணி ஞானசம்பந்தன் (1) படியால் சொன்ன பாடல் சொல
to receite the songs which were composed according to the aptitute of the people by beautiful ñāṉacampantaṉ who resides in Kāḻi where brahmins always think of the pleasure derived from meditating on the feet of Civaṉ.
பறையும் வினை (தான், ஏ)
the acts of those people will disappear.
