having fixed the mountain as the churning staff.
கடல் கடைந்த(வ்) விடம் உண்ட தொத்து ஆர்மணி நீள்முடிச்சுடர்வண்ணணது இடம் ஆம்
the place of the god who has the colour of the sun and who wears a tall crown in which there is a group of gems set in it and who consumed the poison that rose as a result of churning the ocean

கொத்து ஆர்மலர் குளிர் சந்து அகில் ஒளிர் குங்குமம் கொண்டு முத்தாறு வந்து அடிவீழ்தருமுதுகுன்று அடைவோம் (ஏ)
we shall reach Mutukuṉṟu where muttaṟu falls at the feet of Civaṉ bringing as tribute bunches of flower, cool sandal wood, eagle wood and bright saffron.

{$} தழைஆர் வடவிடவீதனில் தவமேபுரி சைவன்
the cataciva manifestation of Civaṉ, as one without beginning, who performed penance under the banyan tree which is full of foliage, as takkiṇāmūrṭy.
[[வியவி: the reading found in printed editions, even in the tarumapuram edition, does not make any sense. விடவி has been lengthened into விடவீ for rhythm; the derivative meaning of the word is a tree with branches.]]
இழை ஆர் இடை மடவாளொடும் இனிதா உறைவு இடம் ஆம்
the place where he dwells with pleasure with a lady whose waist is as minute as a single twisted thread.
மழை வானிடை முழவ(வ்) எழில் வளை வாள் உகிர் எரிகண் முழைவாள் அரி குமிறும்(ம்) உயர் முதுகுன்று அடைவோம் (ஏ)
we shall reach mutukuṉṟu where the cruel lion which lives in the cave and has beautiful, bright nails and burning eyes, roars against the thunder of the cloud in the sky. [[thinking it to be the roaring of the elephant]]

{$} விளையாதது ஓர் பரிசில் வரு பசுபாச வேதனை ஒண்தளை ஆயினதவிர (வ்) அருள் தலைவ(ன்) அது சார்பு ஆம்
the place of the master who grants his grace to remove the strong bondages which give sufferings and have been destroyed so that they will have the nature of not bearing any fruit again.
களை ஆர்தரு கதிர் ஆயிரம் உடைய(வ்) அவனோடு முளை மா மதி தவழும்(ம்) உயர் முதுகுன்று அடைவோம்(ஏ)
we shall reach the great mutukuṉṟu where the great moon just rising seems to crawl along with the sun of thousand rays of brilliance.

{$} சுரர் மாதவர் தொகு கின்னரர் அவரோ தொலைவு இல்லர்
the tēvar, great sages and groups of countless Kiṉṉaṟar.
நரர் ஆன பல் முனிவர் தொழ இருந்தான் இடம்
the place of Civaṉ who remained to be worshipped by many sages among human beings.
நலம் ஆர் (1) அரசார்வர அணி பொற்கலம் (அவை) கொண்டு பல் நாளும் முரசு ஆர் வரு மணம் மொய்ம்பு உடை(ய) முதுகுன்று அடைவோம் (ஏ)
we shall reach mutukuṉṟu which has the strength of the muracu which is played on occasions of marriages on many days when kings of good qualities visit the shrine with beautiful golden ornaments.

{$} அறை ஆர்கழல் அந்தன்தனை அயில் மூவிலை அழகு ஆர்கறை ஆர் நெடுவேலின்மிசை ஏற்றான் இடம் கருதின்
if we think of the place of Civaṉ who lifted upon the long trident which has stains and beauty, and three sharp blades, the acuraṉ, antakaṉ who wore a sounding Kaḻal in his leg.
மறை ஆயின பலசொல்லி ஒண் மலர் சாந்து அவை கொண்டு
taking in their hands bright flowers and sandal paste, and reciting vētam.
மிகு முனிவர் முறையால் தொழும் முதுகுன்று அடைவோம் (ஏ)
we shall reach mutukuṉṟu which many sages worship by turns.

{$} ஏ ஆர்சிலை எயினன்(ன்) உரு ஆகி எழில் விசயற்கு, ஓவாத இன் அருள் செய்த எம்(ம்) ஒருவற்கு இடம்
the place of the unequalled god who granted his good grace which does not cease, to beautiful Vicayaṉ, assuming the form of a hunter who had a bow in which arrows are fixed.
உலகில்
in this world.
சாவாதவர்
those who do not die.
பிறவாதவர்
and those who are not born again.
தவமே மிக உடையர்
have excessive penance only to their credit.
மூவாத பல் முனிவர் தொழும் முதுகுன்று அடைவோம்(ஏ)
we shall reach mutukuṉṟu which the many sages who do not become old, worship.

{$} தழல் சேர் தரு திருமேனியர்
Civaṉ has a body whose colour is like the fire.
சசிசேர்சடைமுடியர்
has a caṭai coiled into a crown on which he places a crescent.
மழமால்விடை மிகஏறிய மறையோன் உறைகோயில்
the temple where the brahmin who rides on a young and big bull dwells.
விழவோடு ஒலி மிகு மங்கையர் தகும் ஆடகசாலை முழவோடு இசை நடம்முன் செயும் முதுகுன்று அடைவோம் (ஏ)
we shall reach mutukuṉṟu where the young girls who make a big sound along with festivals perform dance in the fitting golden hall to the accompaniment of muḻavu to measure time.

{$} செதுவாய்மைகள் கருதி(வ்)வரை எடுத்த திறல் அரக்கன் கதுவாய்கள் பத்து அலறீயிடக் கண்டான் உறைகோயில்
the temple where Civaṉ who made the strong arakkaṉ who lifted the mountain thinking of evil words, to roar with his ten mouths which were scarred, dwells
[[the longthening of அலறி into அலறீ is for rhythm.]]
மதுவாய் செங்காந்தள் மலர் நிறையக் (1) குறைவு இல்லா முதுவேய்கள் முத்து உதிரும் பொழில் முதுகுன்று அடைவோம் (ஏ)
we shall reach mutukuṉṟu where the mature bamboos which have no deficiency of any kind, drop pearls to fill the flowers of red species of malabar glory lily which have honey in them.

{$} இயல் ஆடியபிரமன், அரி இருவர்க்கு (உம்) அறிவு அரிய செயல் ஆடிய தீ ஆர் உரு ஆகி எழு செல்வன்
the god who rose as a column of fire which won a victory by its act and who could not be known by both Piramaṉ and ari (Māl) who were self-conceited.
புயல் ஆடு வண்பொழில்சூழ் புனற் படப்பைத் தடத்து அருகே முயல் ஓட வெண்கயல் பாய்தரு முதுகுன்று அடைவோம்(ஏ)
we shall reach mutukuṉṟu where by the side of the tanks where water is extensive and surrounded by flourishing gardens on which clouds are moving, white carp fish jumps to make the hares run.

{$} அருகரொடு புத்தர் (அவர்) அறியா அரன்
araṉ who could not be known by arukar (camaṇar) and buddhists.
மலையான் மருகன்
the son in law of the himālayā mountain.
வரும் இடபக்கொடி உடையான் இடம்
the place of Civaṉ who has a flag of bull which comes in the front.
மலர் ஆர் கருகு குழல் மடவார் கடிகுறிஞ்சி (அது) பாடி
the girls of the hunters who have tresses of hair of increasing black colour and flowers tucked in, sing the divine melody-type Kuṟiñci.
முருக(ன்)னது பெருமை பகர் முதுகுன்று அடைவோம் (ஏ)
we shall reach Mutukuṉṟu where the greatness of Murukaṉ is narrated by them.

{$} முகில்சேர்தரு முதுகுன்று உடையானை
on Civaṉ who has mutukuṉṟu where clouds gather, as his abode.
மிகு தொல்சீர்ப் புகலிந் நகர் மறைஞான சம்பந்தன்(ன்) உரைசெய்த நிகர் இல்லன தமிழ் மாலைகள் இவைபத்தும்
all these ten garlands of tamiḻ verses which have no equal composed by ñāṉacampantaṉ who had knowledge of vētam and who is a native of the city of pukali which has ancient fame increasing day by day.
அவையோடு பகரும் அடியவர்கட்கு இடர் பாவம் (ம்) அடையா (ஏ)
sufferings and sins will not reach the devotees who recite these with music.
