having the nature of being united with the souls of this world with desire according to their stages of spiritual development.

முறிகலந்தது ஒருதோல் அரைமேல் உடையான்
Civaṉ wears tiger's skin which he flayed, on his waist.

has a beautiful body in the half of which a lady is conspicuous.
கருமானின் உரி ஆடை மீது இலங்க அணிந்தான்
wears as an upper cloth the skin of the black antelope.
இமையோர் தொழமேவும் இடம்
the place where he dwells to be worshipped by the celestials who do not wink.
சோலைப் போதில் (அங்கு) நசையால் வரி வண்டு இசைபாடும் புகலூர்
is Pukalūr where in the flowers of the gardens beetles with lines on their bodies hum like music desiring honey.

{$} பண் நிலாவும் மறைபாடலினான்
Civaṉ sings Vētam-s which have music of their own.
இறைசேரும் வளை அங்கைப் பெண் நிலாவ உடையான்
has a lady who has a beautiful hand in whose wrists bangles are worn, to stay permanently with him.
பெரியார் கழல் என்றும் தொழுது ஏத்த உள் நிலாவி
when great people of spiritual wisdom always worship and praise him, staying in their hearts.
அவர் சிந்தையுள் நீங்கா (1) ஒருவன்(ன்) இடம்
the place of the unequalled Civaṉ who does not leave the minds of such people.
மண் நிலாவும் அடியார் குடிமைத்தொழில் மல்கும் புகலூரே என்பர்
is definitely Pukalūr where the devotees who live on this world are flourishing in their agricultural operations; that is what people say.

Civaṉ has a caṭai filled with water; has a bull.
அடையார் தம் அரண் மூன்றும் சீரின்மல்கு மலையே சிலையாக (1) முனிந்தான்
destroyed with anger using a mountain eminent by its fame as bow, the three forts of the enemies.
உலகு உய்யக்காரின் மல்கு கடல் நஞ்சம் அது உண்டகடவுள்(ள்) இடம்
the place of the god who consumed the poison that rose in the ocean of increasing black colour, to save the world from destruction.
ஊரில் மல்கி வளர் செம்மையினால் உயர்வு எய்தும் புகலூர் என்பர்
people say it is Pukalūr which attains greatness by its right conduct which increases in many villages, by several stages.

{$} செய்யமேனி வெளிய பொடிப் பூசுவர்
Civaṉ will smear on his red body white sacred ash.
சேரும்(ம்) அடியார்மேல் நின்றவினைபையப் பாற்றுவர்
will put to rout gradually the karmam-s that are with the devotees who meditate upon him without ceasing.
போற்று இசைத்து என்றும் பணிவாரை மெய்ய நின்றபெருமான் உறையும் இடம்
the place where the god who truly stands by the side of the devotees who fall at his feet by singing his praises.
அருள்பேணிப்பொய் இலாத மனத்தார் பிரியாது பொருந்தும் புகலூர் என்பர்
people say is Pukalūr where devotees who do not have falsehood in their minds and desire the grace of god, live without leaving it.

{$} விழவின் ஓசை அடியார் மிடைவுற்று விரும்பிப்பொலிந்து எங்கும் முழவின் ஓசை முந்நீர் அயர்வு எய்த முழங்கும் புகலூர்
Pukalūr where the bustle of festival, and the sound of muḻavu which is played everywhere by the crowding devotees who desiring god, are eminent, roar to make the roar of the sea a feeble sound.
கழலின் ஓசை சிலம்பின் ஓசை கலிக்கப் பயில்கானில் குழலின்ஓசை குறட்பாரிடம் போற்றக் குனித்தார் இடம் என்பர்
(people say) is the place of Civaṉ who danced in the cremation ground in which he resides when the sound of the Kaḻal, anklet and flute combine and roar, to be praised by the dwarfish pūtams.

{$} வெள்ளம் ஆர்ந்து மிளிர் செஞ்சடைமேல் விளங்கும்(ம்) மதிசூடி
wearing a shining crescent on the red caṭai which glitters, and is completely filled with the flood (of Kaṅkai)
உள்ளம் ஆர்ந்த அடியார் தொழுது ஏத்த உகக்கும் அருள் தந்து
granting the grace which the devotees who experienced god in their minds and who do obeisance to him and praise him, value greatly.
எம் கள்ளம் ஆர்ந்து கழியப்பழிதீர்த்த (1) கடவுள்(ள்) இடம் என்பர்
people say it is the place of the god who removed the reproach of souls being in bondage, for our deception to come an end, by enjoying it.
புள்(ஐ) ஆர்ந்த வயலின் விளைவால் வளம் மல்கும் புகலூர்
Pukalūr which increases in wealth by the rich produce of the fields in which birds live in large numbers.

{$} தென் இலங்கையரையன் வரைபற்றி எடுத்தான் முடி திண்தோள் தன் இலங்கு விரலால் நெரிவித்து இசைகேட்டு
first crushing the heads and strong shoulders of the King of beautiful Ilaṅkai who lifted the mountain catching hold of it, by his shining toe and then hearing the music sung by him.
அன்று அருள்செய்த மின்இலங்கு சடையான்
Civaṉ who has a caṭai glittering like lightning, and who granted boons in the distant past.
மடமாதொடு மேவும் இடம்
the place where he desires to dwell with a young lady.
பொன் இலங்கு மணிமாளிகைமேல் மதிதோயும் புகலூர் என்பர்
is Pukalūr where the moon rests on the beautiful mansions which shine like gold; that is what people say.

Civaṉ has on his head a cobra.
அடிகைதொழுது ஏத்தும் அடியார்கள் ஆகம் வைத்த பெருமான்
the Lord whom the devotees who worship his feet with joined hands and praise him, place him in their hearts.
பிரமன்(ன்)னொடு மாலும் தொழுது ஏத்தஏகம் வைத்த எரியாய் மிக ஓங்கிய எம்மான் இடம் (போலும்)
the place of our Lord who rose very much as a total fire to be worshipped with joined hands and praised by Māl along with Piramaṉ.
போகம் வைத்த பொழிலின்(ன்) நிழலால் மதுவாரும் புகலூர்
is Pukalūr which has gardens which give pleasure by its shade and where honey flows

{$} செய்தவத்தர் மிகு தேரர்கள் சாக்கியர் செப்பில் பொருள் அல்லாக் கை தவத்தவர் மொழியைத் தவிர்வார்கள் கடவுள் இடம்(போலும்)
the place of the god who is worshipped by devotees who keep away from the deceitful words of the large number of tērar (buddhists) and cākkiyar (a sect of buddhists) which have no real substance, and who do penance if we speak about them.
கொய்து பத்தர் மலரும் புனலும் கொண்டு தூவித்துதிசெய்து
the pious devotees having plucked flowers saying prayers, scattering them and bathing him with water.
மெய்தவத்தின் முயல்வார்உயர் வானகம் எய்தும் புகலூர்
is Pukalūr where those devotees who practise sincere penance reach the superior heaven.

people who sang always with music reaching the feet of the supreme god.
